I really appreciated how you walked us through the settings step by step. Loop recording is such a game-changer, especially with the option to save clips on the fly. It's awesome how user-friendly the setup process seems, especially with the USB options you mentioned. I still use my Go Pro 8 - and sometimes my Insta360 x 3. But I'm keeping an eye on my options! Appreciate your expertise! 👍
Thanks for a great video. I just got my Ace Pro and i was wondering what your thoughts are on using 4k30 With HDR on vs 4k60 without HDR for night driving? I drive mostly at night. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
@@rickbrooks1608 thanks for checking it out. In the summer I don't drive much at night but in general faster frame rates need more light. It's an interesting question though so I'll try and put something together to test that some time soon. Have a great day and be safe out there!
How do you solve for the flowstate stabilization moving the video left and right? Whenever I turn the car right the camera stabilization compensates the opposite direction which I don't want. I want the center vertical line to always be centered. I want it vertically locked.... Actually since I have a hard mount to the roof I can turn off most stabilizers. I'll try that.
@@marksoprano007 I think so. Here's a video in town and I zoomed in on a plate on post. Keep in mind I uploaded this to UA-cam in 1080P. ua-cam.com/video/Ttgcy7dhUNM/v-deo.htmlsi=-B1kga-cJLiY6Bdu
I normally trigger my recordings through an old iPhone then export through the phone or iPad. I'll try recording through my watch and move the disk to my Mac Mini and see what happens in studio next week.
It just records a continuous loop at the interval you select. It will continuously overwrite at that time limit. If you want to save a loop you can stop the recording then start a new loop.
My concern with loop recording is that I may forget to hit the 'save' button during a car accident, let alone a major accident during which I might be uncapacitated. I also like to keep driving footage for at least a week or so, in case of a dispute with road cameras. What I really love with the ACE-PRO is the x2 digital zoom (8K to 4K crop) because car plates at clearly visible at a greater distance. I use in tandem an Insta360-X2 for a wide 360 view.
I have a dedicated dashcam in my personal vehicles and my company has one in my work truck so I don't use loop recording very often. I have my old iPhone connected to the camera and trigger it from there. When we travel to a new place I run the camera and dump the footage onto an SSD for a record of our travels. I do the same thing with the dashcam at the end of the day. I like the x2 crop also.
I use the ACE-PRO as a dashcam. It does not work without its battery, that is with a pass-through cable, as in GoPro. It is powered from a USB-C port in the car. However, gradually its battery gets depleted. Why is that? Do you think that the USB-C port in the car does not supply enough amperage? When the weather is warm (about 30 C) the ACE-PRO overheats and shuts down after about an hour (4K video). After using an aluminum cage from PULUZ, the camera can record in 4K without issues. I flip the back screen slightly up in order to allow air to cool the main camera body.
I run mine without the battery so my guess is either your power source or the cable can't supply enough current. My power source is rated 2.1 amps. The cable is not branded but it is pretty heavy with a braided jacket.
I like this one a lot. It hasn't overheated or locked up yet. I'm working on a video comparing it to my GoPro driving through some tunnels. It should be done soon. Have a great night and be safe out there!
I wouldn't buy one for a dashcam but I do use it when we are in transit if I see something cool. 😎 Thanks for stopping by. Have a great day and be safe out there.
its not working the Insta360 ace pro overheated i try every setting and nope overheated co use this camere as dashcam not possible. I have new camera and i can use it only for sort videos
I had the same problem in 4K. Now, I use an aluminum cage from PULUZ if used inside a car. Since then no shut-down, although the cage is quite warm to the touch. Flip the screen a bit open to help the camera dissipate heat better.
@@onlymyopiniontech Good idea, although a bit noisy. PULUZ has an amazing dual-speed cooling fan accessory (powered by USB-C) for DSLRs, but there is no mount for the ACE-PRO yet. I have requested one!
@@peter572 I'll check that fan out. I'm in an 18 wheeler so I can't hear the defroster over the truck. 😂 In my cars I have dedicated dashcams so I don't run loop mode but I do sometimes like to do Timelapse when I'm parked so the fan would be handy for that. 👍

Does it allow you to see license plate clearly,
When:
Car is in front of you?
On coming traffic?
Next lane but In front of you?

I recorded cycling activity on a iWatch Ultra, but did not get all these stats overlayed when data was imported in Insta360 Studio

Does this record 3/5/10/30 minutes then loops and creates another file?

They come from an external source like your phone are Apple Watch. In the app there is an option to use stats in the export.
