Recovering journalist. I don't report the news, but I do report my opinion. Also, my UA-cam subscribers are the best human beings on the platform.
I am a veteran of both the U.S. Army and the U.S. Air Force for a total of 10 years of service. If credentials matter, I have a BA in international relations, speak Russian, and have an MBA from American Military University. I'm also in my last year of law school at Western Michigan University where I'm spending every penny of my GI Bill entitlement.
I write on Medium and run the "Eyes Only" newsletter on Substack where I talk about global security, military technology, and how much I hate authoritarians.

Ukraine Deploys 2,000-Year-Old Weapon to Slow Russia's Advance
Ukraine’s creativity on the battlefield never ceases to amaze me, and today, we’re talking about their ingenious use of a 2,400-year-old weapon: the caltrop.
Yes, you heard that right-this ancient area-denial tool, originally used in battles like Gaugamela in 331 BCE, is making a huge comeback in modern warfare. What was once a wooden ball with metal spikes has now evolved into sharpened rebar, scattered across Russian supply lines with the help of drones. It’s the perfect mix of ancient ingenuity and modern tech.
In this video, I’ll break down the incredible history of the caltrop, a weapon that’s been used by everyone from the Greeks and Romans to the Chinese and medieval knights. We’ll trace its evolution across centuries of warfare, from ancient battlegrounds to modern conflict zones, and uncover how Ukraine has adapted it to devastating effect in their fight against Russia.
These small but mighty spikes are wreaking havoc on Russian convoys, disabling vehicles, and leaving them vulnerable to drone strikes and artillery fire.
What makes caltrops so effective? They’re cheap, portable, lightweight, and ridiculously easy to produce in large quantities. Add in Ukraine’s unmatched ability to combine NATO-standard weaponry, Soviet-era tech, and off-the-shelf consumer gear, and you have a military force that’s rewriting the playbook for modern warfare.
So, join me as we explore how an ancient weapon is playing a crucial role in one of today’s most high-tech conflicts.
If you love stories of battlefield ingenuity, ancient-meets-modern tactics, and underdog resilience, this one’s for you.

The Swedish Gripen Fighter is a Better Choice for Ukraine Than the F-16
Переглядів 29 тис.14 днів тому
Welcome back, everyone! Today, I’m diving into why Sweden’s JAS-39 Gripen fighter jet might just be the ideal match for Ukraine’s air force needs, even more so than the F-16. With Ukraine set to receive U.S.-made F-16s and potentially French Mirage 2000s, you might wonder why I think a Swedish jet would be the best choice in their fight against Russian aggression. Spoiler: it’s all about rugged...

Australia Sends Ukraine the Slinger Counter-Drone System
🤔 Not that surprising I suppose, I watch videos of soldiers in Ukraine who were engaged in combat and on their rifles and kit they have stickers of Anime girls. I figure it's probably not too different from ww2 guys painting pin up girls on their planes or sailors putting donald duck on their AA guns.
Not too long ago, Ukrainians were laughing at the Russians for having such prepared defenses which so brutally stopped them in their tracks during the summer counter offensive, yet to this day Ukrainians have fail to take preparation works and secondary lines of defense seriously. If they did so they would not be continuously losing so much ground when a position eventually falls.
NATO 😂😂😂😂 DONT RING US WERE ALL IN BRUSSELS COFFEE USLESS LOY OF CRAP THEY COULDN'T CARE LESS ABOUT REST EU
I from Sweden and I love our fighter, however ukraine has got the f16 they need training for that plane. Even tho i think our plane is better then F16 , most important is training in rapairing and use the machines they already got.
Russian soldiers are the best in humanity ? Eh? They are more in line with imperial guard than space marines, a bunch of us 40k nerds spoke about it recently. The use of mass produced armour (tanks, troop carriers) criminal (penal) regiments along with various other types. Due to Russia having different ethnicities then hence mass conscripted/forced recruitment etc Treatment of said troops aswell ties in with commissars and blah blah. Space marines not so much in line 🤣
The unintended consequence might be that a soldier trained to use these might effectively be de-trained from successfully shooting without them. I imagine it would ruin a competent skeet shooter.
Shit on the wall
Stingers, anyone ?
Bro atleast try and pronounce “tovarish” and “slava ukraini” well, if you’re gonna simp and carry so much water for them atleast do it right god damn.
Donbas stands! For the Emperor!
another great invention is sound level device
Ever read Russian comments on UA-cam and think "gross"
YOU DO EXCELLENT WORK.... AND FOR OUR NIMBLE, BRAVE AND CREATIVE UKI WARRIORS DEFENDING THEIR EXISTENCE FROM EVIL... IT TRULY MEANS A LOT TO ME,, YOU ARE A GREAT DUDE BROTHER WES
Wes I REALLY appreciate that you share the same passion in support of our Uki brothers and sisters over there ... and I love your excellent magazine style video format using cutaways/inserts, to display exactly what you are talking about as imagery examples for the audience... That is my style too I learned in my senior year in cinema/tv production. You tell the story/reality very well. And love the large placard Uki trident chevron on the wall... Keep the great segments coming... I watch each one of them... It means a lot to me and it's important and for the most noble cause... thnx buddy.. Los Angeles, CA
There are 40k players on both sides. Cant we just solve this with a few games and beers? This isnt right.
Israeli tech saving the world again. What happened to Palastinian technology? Oh, wait...
This the second Warhammer 40k story I heard from the warzone. There was also one about Ukrainian drone pilots referring to "Khorne". When one of their kamikaze drones accident exploded on the ground without anyone getting hurt the drone pilot just said: sometimes Khorne wants blood.
The Awakening - Warhammer 40K
The emperor protects. They fought well.
The U.S is nowhere near ready for disclosure😂 For example the National Security Agency has made it clear it cannot release its classified ufo files because to do saw would reveal the names of individuals and countries whose electronic communications it is able to intercept. We are nowhere near disclosure😂
I have a couple stacks of these rubber banded together under the front seats of my truck lol.
So you're saying by buying Space Marine 2 I am indirectly supporting The RFAF? I'm buying one right now.
McGuyver Army!❤
Slava Rossiya! 🇷🇺
There's literally a Ukrainian battalion named "Khorne"
Nice. Very nice setup! Thanks for all the vids Aussie here also 🇦🇺🇺🇦
There is drone footage from kursk coming from a ukrainian unit calling themselves "Khorne Group" Maybe don't name yourself after the bad guys of a fictional universe especially if those bad guys are particularly evil and sadist Kinda fits with drone operators though
What is next ? tyranids ?
This is really interesting and cool!
Have to be creative and use some more I genius ways to increase border security ten fold, using conventional military to fight cartels could be another consequence of our confidence in our military strength. Imagine the glee of ending up fighting in asymmetrical war funded by China right at our door. They would love it
I saw a PMC with a Black Templars patch also
Love this sort of video, bit of a behind the scenes. Keep up the awesome videos man 🇦🇺
"The merging of Orthodox theology with pagan combat magic." I did NOT expect to hear those words when I got out of bed today.
The most liar channel of all Prorussian sh,it. So Rusia has more tech than USA 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 since that stupid phrase al, that this clown talks is BS.
If there was a Civil war in the US, I'd expect one side to wear Armacham Corp. patches and the other - Militech ones
How pathetic they are, they think they are strong with those Warhammer symbols 😂
When I was serving in the US Army I had a ton of Warhammer patches I’d use on all my gear. I never thought I’d see a ‘real’ purity seal used unironically lol
North America may not survive it's values with all of Europe s worst arriving since the fall of the iron curtain. Seriously. What would the god fearing do. When god knows the whole of Europe wants to bring down a peg America.!
I mean... You can just have 1 soldier in a formation carrying the backpack radio jammer. The SMASH is definitely a inovative system but there seem to be more cost effective alternatives when it comes to anti-drone warfare 🤔
We used to vampire the masquerade before going to a raid.
Hearing English speakers pronounce “ratnik” *shudder*
I heard there was also a Ukrainian regiment called Khorne
Russian is here. I’ve had a chevron with an Aquila on my body armor for two years now. In general, there are quite a lot of Warhammer fans here, but the greatest Warhammer moment was when we fought in the Kursk direction, I defended a point with the code name "Cadia", which the ZSU from the Khorne Group were trying to destroy. They tried several times to burn out our forest plantation and occupy our trenches, but they failed. Cadia stands!
Wes bringing news again. thanks!
The test does not really tell us anything important. These 5th Generation fighters always, and I do mean always must sacrifice their main advantages just train with these 4th Gen fighters. A piece of paper with the location on the merge??? It should surprise absolutely nobody that an unarmed Eurofighter will have a major kinematic advantage against an unarmed F35A in a BFM engagement. The laws of physics are clear on this. Put 4 to 6 Amraams or meteors on both fighters then repeat the test. Still love the Typhoon, but this was just silly.
Glory to Russia❤
