Exponential technology growth is incredible. Its hard to imagine that for thousands of years soldiers had the identical technology as their predecessors 100's if not 1000's of years before them. Swords and other high value weapons would pass down in families for generations. Now it seems like there's something new practically every month.
"Cadets! The wars of the future will be fought in space, or perhaps on very tall mountains - either way, most of the actual fighting will be done by robots; and as you go forward, your mission is clear: to build and maintain those robots."
I have seen Unitree at an arms trade. It is eerily quiet. You cannot hear it until it is very close and when it's not moving it is very hard to detect as it sits completely still.
Since these dog bots started to get developed and copied there have been suggestions of their potential use in military. It wasn’t so long ago that I saw a video claiming that they just aren’t practical in the field. US forces had evaluated them and decided not to use them despite using other tracked and wheeled robots in field. Rugged wheeled bots are supposedly more efficient and reliable. The legged bots might be able to go over some terrain that wheeled bots can’t but there aren’t that many such terrain features and the wheeled bots can usually just go around what few obstacles are insurmountable. I’m not saying they haven’t improved to the point that they are practical but we often mistake a mix of technological feasibility and cool aesthetics with what is economically and practically preferable. I’ll withhold judgment but I’m wondering whether these would be ordered by defence departments if the companies developing them weren’t donating them or artificial reducing prices to get them evaluated.
THe year 2028-2033 will be like: "ok guys it was nice knowing you all before the ai overlords took over. Now there are over 1 billion armed humanoid robot soldiers.."
Curious about the battlefield infrastructure of maintaining these robot dogs. Considering the risk of these maintenance facilities are closer to the front compared to aerial FPV facilities that can be farther away.
My only concern is if these are coming from China then they are probably also going to Russia just like the drones and while Ukraine has done a fantastic job with drones but Russia is pretty good now too.
@geopoliticshaiphong gives a more balanced objective and informative view of the war and other geopolitical issues. I quite like this guy and the channel but he tends to get a right hard on for all things weapon. Can’t help feel it’s a tad unhealthy.
Interesting be nice to see how they perform in real world conditions, but certainly looks promising.
2024 we're talking about Robodogs, Expect in a couple of years we will be talking about Robo Ants or Spiders even Robo-Centipedes.
Who let the dogs out? Ukraine.
Wes you’re becoming the go to channel on the Ukraine war, keep up your brilliant journalism. Slava Ukraine 🇺🇦
Game Changer is to be decided, Feckin Scary for Sure!
It’d prob be wise to stop using that label, basically a curse at this point.

Is that from a novel or did you write it ? Either way very cool .
@louisbabycos106 oof. It's a quote from The Simpsons, when Bart and Lisa are sent to Cadet Training.
the fact you can basically autopilot gps this thing is pretty cool
Great piece, mate. Thanks.
Stu from Downunder
Black Mirror ;-)
Man those things are going to kill me trying to get a teddy bear for the little girl.
Lighting!
These robots would most certainly be an effective tool for small recon, demolition and sniper units.

Yo brother, check your camera settings because your lighting is way dark! 😊👍🏼
Slava Ukraine! 🇺🇦
Give some of these to the Khorne group. I'm sure they'll create something nightmarish like the dragonfire drones.
Hell hounds
@@tc-tm1mypainted blood red as well no doubt
does it bark?
Unitree just released a $16k Jr sized robot.
THe year 2028-2033 will be like: "ok guys it was nice knowing you all before the ai overlords took over. Now there are over 1 billion armed humanoid robot soldiers.."
Did they have some sort of "sniffing tech" in Vietnam?
Curious about the battlefield infrastructure of maintaining these robot dogs. Considering the risk of these maintenance facilities are closer to the front compared to aerial FPV facilities that can be farther away.
I’m sorry, 1 600!?
The last time I heard about a robo dog, it was 200 000$.
Not sure how you can make a robot dog and not give it sniffing sensors. What were the robot dog people doing with their time anyway?
How many dogs? How effective have they been.?
Please cite the various polls that corroborates this evidence?
Alright so witch kill streak are we missing uav rcxd boats predator drone mortars hi mars storm shadow babba yaga gun drone swarm robot dogs sqd
Their specs aren't that great according to the page on Amazon. Not rated for weather at all. I wonder if they've been upgraded.
Ha! Chinese. Oh the irony.
do not want to give Russian free robots parts such as LiDAR components .
My only concern is if these are coming from China then they are probably also going to Russia just like the drones and while Ukraine has done a fantastic job with drones but Russia is pretty good now too.
If these are made in China, Russia will have access to this tec. Unfortunately!
Maybe not. Russia and China may be buddies, but not lovers...
Doubt Russia can afford them in big numbers
To reverse engineer a robot you can just mobility kill it and drag into a lab.
Yet they aren't using them
Game changer would be cheap reusable flying drone with some kind of firearms.
Better to test cheap Chinese existing tech than spend money developing something super advanced.

And I can’t help feel your a tad to opinionated!
@@skinnybub5237 Yeah, you’re right but I’ve got a good point.
The fact that you re so prone to stuff that helps killing people is very concerning.
Hello do you know what channel you're on
Not really, just dropped by
This is silly. What Ukraine needs is artillery and drones. Hope they didnt pay for this.
The psychological horror will be very impactful on the low-tech Russians
