MentalEFit Book Club features animated book summaries, lessons, and knowledge from a variety of sources. This channel is for the intellectually curious and the driven, people with an insatiable thirst for knowledge (that's you). Here, I synthesize information from the best books and minds around. I started my creative career with podcasting, and I wanted to bring good audio to comprehensive animated book summaries.
Expect to get roughly 10 minutes for each book summary. For longer books, I may break the summaries down per chapter. When we're finished with the individual summaries, I'll pull those together into one big animated book summary. Additionally, in the description of each full animated book summary, look for an outline of that book. I will put a link there to a Google Drive folder. Click that link, and it should take you right to the book outline. It's absolutely free. Plus, I'm an attorney, so I like to think I learned to make really good outlines in law school.

Free Prize Inside - How to Make a Purple Cow, by Seth Godin - Book Summary
Welcome to this animated book summary of Free Prize Inside, by Seth Godin. The Free Prize Inside book is divided into 3 main sections, and that’s how I divided the book summary. Therefore, you will get the 3 Key Takeaways from this fantastic marketing book by Seth Godin.
Here are the Time Stamps for Free Prize Inside, by Seth Godin:
00:18 Lesson 1: Why You Need a Free Prize
04:39 Lesson 2: Selling the Idea
08:48 Lesson 3: Creating the Free Prize
Free Prize Inside is the sequel to Seth Godin’s famous book, Purple Cow. Free Prize Inside teaches the reader/listener how to create a Purple Cow.
The premise of Free Prize Inside is similar to that of Purple Cow. Essentially, the idea is that the modern world is filled with noise, choices, and spamming. Purple Cow taught us that the only way to cut through this noise is to create something remarkable. Free Prize Inside teaches us how get to the edges and turn our existing, ordinary stuff into remarkable stuff. Not only is this strategy effective, but it’s also cheap and very feasible.
Remember kids’ meals at fast food restaurants? Was it the chicken and fries, or was it the prize? We all know the answer. We all know kids want the meal; it’s the prize. In the same way, kids want the cereal with the toy inside.
The Free Prize Inside enables companies to charge a premium for a commodity product. It allows companies to make more money, and they can do it without spending millions on ads or some technological breakthrough. The Free Prize is cheap, and Seth Godin teaches you how to create the Free Prize in this fantastic book.
In summary, Seth Godin teaches us how to create Free Prizes quickly, cheaply, and reliably, and he teaches us how to sell these ideas to organizations and investors. Ultimately, Seth Godin teaches us how to turn these ideas into reality.
I hope you enjoy the animated book summary of Free Prize Inside, by Seth Godin.

‘The Alchemist’ is a philosophical novel by Paulo Coelho that follows the journey of a young sheperd named Santiago as he seeks his personal legend, or otherwise know as his true purpose in life. I chose to read this book for a multitude of reasons A) I wanted to make reading a habit in my life aiming to read a book a week for a year and this seemed like the perfect start, ‘The Alchemist’ being a well renowned tale B) ‘The Alchemist’ encompasses the genres I love most adventure and philosophy, ever since catching up with ‘One Piece” I have always been chasing the same feeling the Alchemist reenacts this in a more mature sense C) I am at possibly the most lowest point in my life at this moment and I thought maybe this book could open eyes a little bit more. It is set in the deserts of Andalusia and Egypt, the novel follows Santiago, who dreams of finding a hidden treasure located near the Egyptian pyramids. He embarks on a journey that takes him from Spain to North Africa, encountering a variety of characters, including a king, a crystal merchant, an Englishman, and the alchemist himself. Along the way, Santiago learns about the importance of following one's dreams, listening to one's heart, and recognizing the signs the universe provides. In my life I always have been a dreamer, but have always made excuses of why I can not follow my dreams and why I can not take the next step forward but this novella has removed all my excuses. In a way I believe it has brought me closer to my religion and my God with the message of the omen’s. In life everything happens for a reason and God has a plan for you, therefore you should listen to your heart and always take the next step forward. I want to bring this forward in my own life, I know I have had many setbacks and many failures but I never want to stop moving forward just like Santiago I need to take the leap of faith in my life. Favourite: When Santiago find his treasure and the epilogue Least enjoyable: The overly fantastical part such as the discussion with the Sun and the wind. Here are some lessons taught to me by “The Alchemist”: There is power to commiting to your path- “When you want something all the Universe conspires in helping you achieve” I have never been a committing sort of us, I have always expected somehow tommorow will just be better, but now I realise I need to cause my own change and then the Universe will bend to my will, I need to stay consistent and make marginal gains and 1% better every day leads to 37 times better in a year. Don’t let others choose your path for you- “In the long run what people think about shepherds and bakers become more important than their own personal legends.” Am I following my dreams? That’s a question I ask myself everyday! I need to live life where I live for myself and not live for everyone else, one of my biggest flaws is I am not true to myself and put up a persona. I need to be true to my feeling and I need to be a person I can become proud of. Don’t believe the world’s greatest lie- “The world’s greatest lie…that at a certain point in our lives, we lose control of what’s happening to us, and our lives become controlled by fate.” Fate is an excuse I use way too much, I believe in the world’s greatest lie and this was my greatest mistake. From now on I decided to live a life based on accountability- everything is my fault and from these losses I will lessons where I can grow and I can improve. When life knocks you down, stay positive and keep moving forward- “Am I a poor victim in a strange place, or am I an adventurer seeking treasure in a new place?” Life is about the identity you hold and the view take. A pessimist will find no fulfilment regardless of wherever they look, whereas an optimist will find fulfilment regardless of wherever they look. Be bold and make decisions- “…making a decision was only the beginnings of things. When someone makes a decision he is really diving into a strong current that will carry him to places he has never dreamed of when he first made the decisions.” A flaw of mine is me being indecisive. I need to be more confident in life and take the leaf of faith. I need to realise that in reality it’s me against me and not me against the world. I am my worst enemy and the mental barrier I have put up is what is causing me to fail. Embrace the now- “…I don’t live in either my past or my future I’m interested only in the present. If you can concentrate always on the present, you’ll be a happy man.” I realise in life I either focus on how I’m going to change the future or how much I regret the past. But in reality I forget the true fact, the present is all I have control of. I can never change the past and I can never change the future, but I do understand I can change the present and I can improve my present making it a present where I am able to be proud. Don’t focus on the results and focus on the process- “People don’t find success when they seek only treasure… when they seek only results… success comes from living your personal legend!” What I need to realise is that true happiness only comes from being able to be fulfilled in the journey! Everyone sees results but only you understand the hardships you went through, the time you invested. That’s why irregardless of your goals and irregardless of the end point, your journey is what is most important as that is what leads you to victory and finding your true purpose. Don’t let the fear of failure keep you from pursuing your dreams- “Tell your heart that fear of suffering is worse that suffering itself. And no heart has ever suffered when it goes in search of its dreams, because second of the search is a second’s encounter with God and with eternity.” “…There is only one thing that makes a dream impossible to achieve: the fear of failure…” An old proverb I carry close to my heart is that would you rather carry the suffering of hard work or the suffering of regret. I realised I need to take the steps to break my own barrier and to follow my dreams and only then can I find my true purpose and find my own treasure. When you make yourself better, you make the world better- “when something evolves, everything around that thing evolves as well.” When you improve yourself you are able to see aspect of life you were not able to understand before, perhaps looking at life with new perspectives. When you improve yourself life presents improved opportunities and from there your exponential growth begins. Allow yourself to dream- “It’s the possibility of having dreams come true which makes life interesting.” The purpose of life has been my ultimate question. Maybe it is dreams, dreams are the precursor to the journey to find your purpose and understand who you are. Practice gratitude-“…when each day is the same as the next, it’s because people fail to recognise the good things that happen in their lives every day that the sun rises.” Gratitude is aspect of life I need to cherish more and when I realise I have things I am grateful for I will feel close to my purpose and will give me the inspirations I need to follow my own dreams.

My twin flame died in a car wreck on his way to see me. I was the last person to talk to him on 8/11/17. right before the solar eclipse of 2017 To be an Alchemist. You have to have a spirit guide that has your heart on a level deep that when they pass from this earth. Not even death would keep that person from finding you and showing you the laws of the universe. And what my man showed me was the most important rule on this planet. Its the power by always speaking the Truth. If you lie and be deceptive in any form you have to pay a consequence that equals the level of deception you created. Anything from a life changing lie down to lying about "insignificant" like saying nothing is wrong to someone when they ask you what is bothering you. When something is bothering you. Sometimes the most insignificant lies that you feel are the easiest to get away with can be rewarded the most and spirit will give you a sign and your journay can begin. Stealing also is a form of deception and stealing will get you very difficult karma . Dont believe me? Try this as an experiment. Then you'll be able to come to your own conclusion
This is so insightful. I’m so thankful to you for sharing this. Very deep and profound. Thank you again and all my best to you. You seem like such a wonderful person.

In The Alchemist, the idea of a Personal Legend is vital to the plot, because it's what helps to keep Santiago moving throughout the story. We learn that a Personal Legend is a destiny that propels people toward what the universe thinks is best for them, and that to ignore it could lead to ruin. 🕊️
Yes! ❤️ This comment!
and don't forget the most important P of all: Permission. Shouting at people who don't care (i.e everyone who doesn't know you), or leaving that tiny "email me" box checked by default in order to 'cheat' onto potential customer's radars is the fastest way to lose trust. and as Seth also points out now, "trust is the only long term currency". especially now all we live in is an attention economy.
This is a massive point! Godin wrote a whole book on the topic of permission… this comment! To the top!
