Let's take a look at the tech specs of the Nomadic Research Raid Pack HD 2.0, as well as my opinion of the bag after an initial test period. Over built, rugged, and very well featured, but is it overpriced? That may be up to you decide based on your personal position.

Eberlestock IndiTAK - IFAK/First Aid Kit Review and Contents

I had several requests from viewers to do an overview of the Eberlestock IndiTAK that I use with my Bandit pack; ask and you shall receive! This IFAK / First Aid Kit has been ideal for my needs and is built well enough to last. Eberlestock Jacknife - First Look and Initial Review
I‘m looking for the most comfortable duffel bag (in backpack mode) in carry on size. Any recommendations?
Thanks for the video. Is it possible to add a hydration bladder to this backpack? Is there a slot to push the valve and tube through?
On sale for $89 today at Sportsmans warehouse free shipping
I got an email about this sale but I was too late to grab one 😢
Best of success for the Ironman race! I'd love to see a review of the ULA Dragonfly when you get around to backpacks again.
There are not enough pockets like bandit. The side pocket is useless . If you can not secure your item.
I wish their edc bags had a soft bottom so you don’t damage your things when setting it down
The Mini MLC makes very little sense to me. It is just not as good to carry as a backpack as many many many other 30l backpacks on the market and then it is not as useful for air travel as its bigger brother. If you need a bag for carry on just get the bigger one.
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Do you think the backpacker stock would work better? Or perhaps if the rifle was at an angle?
Does this bag pack down into itself like the black hold duffel does?
It does not, no
Aburlastock
Thanks for the great review! I have a quick question. Can you wash it in the washing machine?
You can! I turn it inside out to keep all of the traps secure. I’ve done it a handful of times with no noticeable issues
Do you think this would be all good for carry on flying?
Yes, it would be a great option. Easy to fit under a seat or in an over-head. Hope this helps!
killer review brother. been look at this pack as well as the switchblade and jackknife. hard to make up my mind! i've got 2 dana design (pre mystery ranch) packs but would like an updated EDC/OSK. thanks again man!
Thanks brother! Good luck
Great review! Have you tried placing your PCC diagonally within the clamshell? Might help with zipper closure a bit.
I’ve tried, but it extends past the side zipper if done that way
Am I under thinking it or would it make sense to buy the non- HD version and just pack some sort of bag poncho to save some $? Especially since the zippers aren't waterproof on the HD
That’d be a great idea! Especially is you could get one that’s fit for a similarly sized bag. Thanks for the thought!
Great vid and thanks for the gaw! I was trying to find this bag in that exact color
Thanks!!
Wow! Great review!! I have quick question. Can it fix the bladder hose using a shoulder strap?
I’ve used the straps in the shoulders to hold the bladder hose, but unfortunately, one is end up breaking because of that. So yes, but with caution
Tested it. I am afraid its pretty useless for a multiday ultra such as MDS at least for me. The bouncing is abnormal.
What would you use instead for MDS?
Thanks for the feedback!
Have you tested the Eberlestock Little Trick bag? I love the features of the switchblade but I’m thinking the smaller footprint of the Little Trick might prove to be more useful day-to-day.
I have not tested that one yet, possibly in the future though…
Great review. I always like when reviewers show how these packs work with an everyday load. Most of us are not constantly bushcrafting but use their stuff for travel, gym and office!
Great! Thank you for the feedback
Solid review - much appreciated.
Thank you!
Dang this video is dark as a cave
Great review! Curious, with the stretching on the shoulder straps, how much weight were you carrying that caused the stretching?
@SJA-Adventure
It’s difficulty to say what “cause” it, whether that was extended use or too heavy of a load. I probably had up to 25lbs in it at the max, but not for very long. But I used it every day for several months, so both probably contributed. Sorry I can’t provide a more exact answer
@@SJA-Reviews Great, thank you! I love mine so far, but wanted to test the limits of weight for multiple overnight hikes.
Lower price doesn't hurt but it's simply too light on features. You can get similarly under-specced packs elsewhere for considerably less. Meh.
Can’t believe you are under 1k subs. Keep up the high quality work, it will grow fast. My favorite thing about your videos… you review the product and don’t waste our time with fluff just to extend the length of the video. There are several reviews on Eberlestock products I would like to watch by other content creators but they are 40+ minutes long and half filled with a story about their new puppy or other bs. You don’t waste our time, thank you!
Thanks for the great feedback!
Took a deep breath on the price-hike due to shipping costs to the UK and purchased a Bandit in Military Green, along with the optional hip belt and a couple of small pouches for handy storage. Really nice little back with a very good carry due to its backplate and the thick padded bars on the back. I always look for adjustability in the back length as one size definitely does not fit all when it comes to packs. I like the velcro strap tidies and have applied some of my own devising to the shoulder straps (surprised there aren't any on those) and I like the internal organisation too. I'd prefer regular molle and some on the front panel in addition to the laser cut stuff on the beavertail. I do think the beavertail needs to be removable as it's a tad flimsy for attaching pouches to and inhibits attachment of side pouches. Still, overall the Bandit is a handy little pack and it's straight away become my EDC bag.
thanks for the review. is the bottom of the bag padded? i find a lot of bags with padded laptop sleeves aren't padded on the bottom.
If I recall, it was thicker than the rest of the bag, but not really padded… I do t have the bag anymore, or I would give you better feedback. Sorry!
Good experience review. Thanks. Subbed.
Thank you!
You should watch their videos and listen to how they pronounce the company name correctly
Thank You for review. Will look elsewhere for takedown rifle backpack.
Just found your page. Great review!
Thank you!
I like the “try to challenge yourself with something new” comment. So important, especially for retirees.
My Mamutt 800 fill down puffy with hood stuffs in its own sack to size of a 32oz Nalgene. If the bottle fits “easily”I’d think a quality down puffy would fit. Surprised those pockets don’t have a draw closure tho.
I wonder if a folded mpx would fit in that clamshell.
*promo sm* 😜
Excellent review of a handsome bag which, unfortunately, has the same deficiency as my Goruk GR2 has relative to travel use, namely, no external, easy access pocket with addman features for travel papers, pens, and other quick-need items. A strange omission by Patagonia and the GR2,s front pocket is worthless. Thanks for clear and intelligent review.
Great review! How stable is the pack when it’s only partially full? Does the side compression system keep it well cinched down?
The side compressions strings do work well, but depending on what you're carrying, the contents may settle at the bottom of the bag, making a bulge at your lower back, and the compression strings can't really help with that. Hope this helps!
It does thanks 😊
Awesome video.. I've been comparing which bags to pick up. I think I will start with the sidekick.. its better than nothing especially with the mods you made.
Great choice! If you need more help picking the right kit for you, feel free to reach out to us!
Great review. Is that coyote or dry earth? Thanks
This one is Dry Earth, hope that helps!
Nice review. I don’t know if it’s just me, but I think your videos could use a little more light. Especially when you have a black bag.
Thanks for the feedback! I’m trying to change my setup and style, so that helps
@@SJA-Reviews you’re welcome!
What do you say about the vest after all this time? Still a good buy?
Still a good buy at a discounted price!
Can you link that molle attachment you used for your ifak please. Thanks. And thank you for your service.
The molle velcro panel is included with the IndiTAK itself. Hope this helos! eberlestock.com/products/inditak-pouch?wickedsource=google&wickedid=CjwKCAiAt5euBhB9EiwAdkXWO2FF_G1UrbkRidtcwuUsopBSPuAhSSFQwMokLmYEuWNjleEQNe8V7xoC-i0QAvD_BwE&wickedid=&wcid=15779097511&wv=4&&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAiAt5euBhB9EiwAdkXWO2FF_G1UrbkRidtcwuUsopBSPuAhSSFQwMokLmYEuWNjleEQNe8V7xoC-i0QAvD_BwE
Hi! Thanks for this review, well made and professionally presented. You mention you went bikepacking wearing this vest. I'd like to ask you, do you think it's possible to mount a small camera (Fuji xt30) on a shoulder strap via a Peak design clip? I usually wear the camera on my shoulders when I travel and I never bring a backpack while bikepacking but since next summer I'll be traveling in Iceland on my gravel bike I'm considering purchasing a vest/backpack to store some heavy stuff to lighten the bike while river crossing, to stash waterproofs for quick access and to take extra clothing for the occasional hike. Do you think the backpack you presented would work for me? Cheers from Finland
I just tried out the Peak clip with my Sony s6400 and a medium sized lens. The Peak clip does fit the shoulder strap, but with how thin the straps are, expect the balance of the pack to be thrown off a bit and for the camera to bounce/swing if you're moving at any decent pace. Hope this helps!
@@SJA-Reviews it actually helps a lot, thank you very much!
I have the Distnace 15 and love it! I was able to fit everything for a 6 day alps crossing with staying in huts. I was really looking forward for the 22l version to hopefully fit my outdoor sleeping setup in there :D
Using the 15 for 6 days is epic! Well done!! I've managed to fit a sleeping bag liner, ultralight tent, trekking poles, some food, and some clothes in the 22
07:35 seems pretty lazy, designed by people who don't carry the items this is intended for. There should be straps to hold the weapon still...velcro inside....pockets for magazines....straps. They need to hire some EDC consultants.
True. I’m looking at this for my braced MP5 clone with an A3 style sliding brace. One could use those inside side pockets for mags or a suppressor.
04:30 Side compartments are for 10/22 mags....bottom pockets are for 22LR amo boxes?
I wouldn't say they're specifically designed for the 10/22, but they'd probably fit pretty well
This video helped me a lot with choosing between 30L and 45L. Thanks!
Glad it helped!!
I have this bag and use it every day. I agree that it is a super solid bag; you can feel the quality as soon as you get your hands on it. I have Goruck GR 1 and a couple of Eberstocks, but this is my go-to bag. It looks more like an Osprey than a tactical bag, even if it's a tactical bag. The only downer for me is that it does not have waterproof zippers. It should be standard on the HD when they have a waterproof liner. You forgot to mention the waist belt btw.
Couldn't agree more about the zippers. And thank you for the reminder about the belt! Completely overlooked that for the overview, I'll be sure to mention it in a long term review. Thanks!
Great review! One quick question, do you know how large of a bladder the internal sleeve will hold? Thanks in advance.
I had a 3L and it fit just right, I wouldn't go bigger than that though. Hope this helps!
@@SJA-Reviews That does help. For long outings I prefer to bring 3L but some of the packs I've been eyeing only allow for 2L. Thanks for the quick answer :)
