    I have had my Rogue almost a year. I had a few reliability until I got the Dictator gas block. Since that time some ammo has to be adjusted on the block to function correctly. Once adjusted it has been 100 per cent! My accuracy is also in the 2’s, which is fine for me. Hornady Black is relatively cheap and is accurate and has good results in gel. I am very happy to have this lightweight .308. If I have to Bugout because I have no choice, this is the one coming with me!

    Do You ever experienced carbon lock on a adjustable gas block? How do You maintain it (rotate few times once for a while and lube?)?

    • @SabertoothDefenseSystems
      @SabertoothDefenseSystems 8 днів тому

      I’ve experienced it on standard adjustable gas blocks that are only adjusted with an Allen wrench. You just have to make sure that after you shoot each time to spray the gas block port with firearm cleaning solvent and adjust it back and forth (remembering what setting you were on). Some people put anti-seize on the adjustment screw and it seems to work a bit better but the carbon still builds up if you’re not spraying it with solvent after each outing. The good news with the POF dictator is that the adjustment screw is much bigger and easier to adjust with the tool they give you which gives you significantly more leverage that can easily break through carbon. I haven’t had this one seize yet

    Thank you so much for your two videos on this. I just got a PSA Sabre ar10 18inch in 308. First time at the range using aac 150grain ammo i got through 40 rounds then had light strikes then it wouldnt work at all around 50 rounds. I took apart the bcg with the help of someone at the range and it dumped 5 primer pieces out the bcg. My retainer pin was a U shape and the firing pin was stuck really good into the bcg. It looks like even their sabre line have the exact same issues. Again thank you so much my man. This is my first rifle and i couldnt get through 3 mags.

    I've been running LAX 147 FMJ on my SFAR set on #3 gas setting. I had a failure to feed and two failures to eject during the first 40 rounds. I lubed up the BCG and its run flawlessly. I couldn't specifically say LAX Ammo is good or bad because its all I've shot through this rifle. I did have a primer pop out running LAX re-man 147gr. Glad you took the time to figure out what was going on with your PA 10 and shared your solutions with us. I have been looking at the PA 10 with a 20-inch barrel and the more info I get the easier it'll be to make a decision. I'm not even close to being a competition shooter and don't want to be. 1 to 2 inches of my point of aim is fine for me.

    • @SabertoothDefenseSystems
      @SabertoothDefenseSystems Місяць тому

      No problem. The gun will average out as a 2MOA gun out of the factory, which is fine for most people. Just understand that each experience is different. My biggest critique of PSA is their quality control is hit or miss. Some guns come out good and others not so much. I would say that it’s still a good gun to buy if you want to build off of it and make it your own. Otherwise in my opinion it’s worth it to save up for a higher quality AR10. Not trying to dissuade you, as long as you have realistic expectations it can serve you well! Cheers!

    11:32 That ammo weave pattern might have a little to do with the reliability issue. I think TXs really prefer it if the rounds alternate which side they're angled. You can reliably do it by loading a round then letting the follower rise all the way up. Bit annoying that you have to keep it in mind, but pretty easy to get in the habit of doing.

      @SabertoothDefenseSystems Місяць тому

      Thanks for sharing your experience! Yup the freedom munitions stuff was dropped the moment I filmed this video way back. Not good ammo. Never had an issue with my rifle feeding softpoints. Norma 150gr whitetail loads were my hog killing round out of PA10 and it worked perfectly. Issue was fixed by increasing buffer weight, stiffer buffer spring and fine tuning the adjustable gas block to control timing. No more blown primers in any ammo I have tried, including freedom! Thanks for watching!

    • @SabertoothDefenseSystems
      @SabertoothDefenseSystems Місяць тому

      @@michaelgoodrich5309hope it helps! AR10/LR308 rifles are very timing sensitive. Even with adjustable gas blocks many times they’re still cycling too fast. The bolt is unlocking and attempting extraction prior to pressure depressurizing to proper levels, so the case is still swollen against the chamber walls. It’s still extracting while it’s under that pressure so the pressure has to go somewhere and it’s usually out the primer end. Once I understood that, everything made sense. Heavier buffer and stiffer spring. Charging the rifle will be a bit more difficult, but in tandem with the adjustable gas block you should see results! Good luck!

    Over pressure ? Or over gassed ? Over pressure is an ammo problem. Over gassed can be solved with an adjustable gas block.

    • @SabertoothDefenseSystems
      @SabertoothDefenseSystems Місяць тому

      It was overpressure caused by improper timing. Bolt was unlocking and extracting round prior to chamber pressures dropping to safe levels. Fixed with heavier buffer in tandem with tuning the adjustable gas block. After doing so, no more overpressure signs such as case head swipe, burrs, flat primers, blown primers. So overpressure signs on brass caused by over gassing and improper timing

In competitions where this would be utilized you’re going to drop your magazines while moving between targets and stages. That’s the way it goes in IDPA and USPSA. Besides these magazines issues were present right at initial testing before the mags were subjected to dropping.. like every other magazine was designed to do

    3 rifles I tried even before firing a round, bound right side bolt release button, 1 had to be RMA'd from store level even before a purchase, 2 others were binding pretty hard, but not as bad as 3rd. Check in the store bolt catch and release, by pulling charging handle and locking bolt with all ambi controls, then test bolt release on the right side. If it's binding, then you will have same issues as me. POF was top notch quality before owner has passed away. I've been using Berger 185 Juggernauts and had extremely consistent results as well as my best grouping. For being a battle rifle I feel like 1moa shouldn't be an issue. I've only used mine for hogs so distance hasn't been an issue.

    Great vid. I purchase a DSA ParaFAL two months ago directly from DSA. It took five weeks to get it and went I got the rifle it did not eject the emty casing and it came with the wrong features. I sent it back to DSA and they had two replase a couple of parts to get it to work propertly not mention that it took them four weeks to shipped it back to me, it was scratch up in a few parts on the lower and up receiver. DSA does a terrible job with the QC of their products and with the repair process. I do not recomend DSA.

    Great series of videos. 🤝 Your data and approach reminded me of The Tech Prepper - Gaston. He is also in Arizona but he is an amateur radio operator.

    Sexy gun but no idea why they left the barrel unfinished, currently looking at buying one and the first thing I need to do Day 1 is paint of cerakote the barrel FDE or Black.

    this rifle has many more reviews that are super negative than positive, actually I havent seen a single review that is positive, that goes for videos and sales reviews on 3 different sites, all of them are horror stories

      @SabertoothDefenseSystems 2 місяці тому

      Yeah, unfortunately that seems to be the case. That’s one of the reasons I had to put that in the end of the video talking about how the reviews are literally all over the place and that there isn’t a great track record with this thing. Shame cuz it very well could be an excellent product. My sample was flawless after adding the dictator gas block and actually putting in the correct buffer parts lol (again mine was a used gun). But I shouldn’t have to buy a $200 upgrade to make this thing functional.

      @@SabertoothDefenseSystems all the reviews I have seen are 3-4 years old, I think they have fixed the issues but have not publicly said anything about it, that makes new buyers not want to buy but also doesnt admit there was a problem in the past to previous buyers, I really want a rogue if they have fixed the issues, I am looking at SFAR and ROGUE for weight maybe the REVOLUTION but I want reliability over weight, with that being said I am looking at DDM5 v4, PSA Sabre and a few other brands that are all heavier but reliable. I so badly would like a lightweight .308 but I need this for protection and it cant be unreliable, I would rather carry a heavy reliable weapon than a unreliable feather.

      @@SabertoothDefenseSystems After reading about the owners and them being for 2A and put money and energy into helping defend us in court. I also spoke to God and asked for a sign if I should get this or a Sfar as I need a rifle made by a good Godly man whos savior is Jesus Christ so my rifle will be true and keep me safe being reliable and accurate as the Lord needs it to be for putting food on the table and protecting Gods children. as I went to remove it form my cart and keep the Sfar, a bird slammed into the window as I went to remove it scaring me and i did not click the remove tab. I believe this was a sign for me to get that one.

    Nice gun and you’re right in what was said in this video. How often do you actually use that light? If not often, why bother adding it on.

    • @SabertoothDefenseSystems
      @SabertoothDefenseSystems 2 місяці тому

      Thanks! For me it’s a better to have and not need than to need and not have sort of scenario when it comes to lights. I recently upgraded and put a TLR7 Sub on there and it’s a great light! My buddy and I do a fair bit of night shooting so I actually do use the light. Plus this is also my backup gun as a Police Officer, and I carried it when I worked graveyard shift so having a light was critical. But yeah man to each their own! If you don’t actually use it, then no need to add it on! Thanks for watching!

      Yeah man it’s getting out of hand to be honest. Don’t get me wrong, I love super high quality optics that cost a pretty penny. But that’s the issue, I can’t always afford that with all of my other obligations in life. The reality is that even the “budget” optics are about 10x more reliable than they were 20 years ago and will absolutely do the job. Too many people are buying things they can’t afford simply for Instagram clout. It’s absurd. Sometimes I just can’t afford something and my money is better spent elsewhere! Thanks for watching!

    bought one recently and not only were mags falling out of the gun but the bolt release didn’t work either, replaced those parts before i even fired it for the first time and low and behold on the last safety check it fired out of battery , checked again and the trigger would fire even if the bolt was around a half inch out of battery, entirely dangerous and shitty to do to your countrymen as a u.s. based company.

      Yeah this is a great option. When I used it on Patrol It held my taser, OC, and radio, flashlight, medical and FI cards/notepad with pens. Took a lot off my belt to not Jack up my hips or back too much
