I love the first bowl!! To center your hump on a mold place your slab on a board, put the hump on the slab by looking at it from above being sure to center it, then hold onto the mold, flip the board over and then pull the slab off the board, it may stick, onto the mold. Does that make sense? Ooh and the platter is soo cool with the handles like that!! Someone will love the colors!! They look very vintage! I absolutely love the blue gloss with the celadon bloom!! Gorgeous! Oh wow that textured mulberrrry!! Now I NEED THAT ONE!! Great kiln load ladies. ❤❤ The fridge for storage. I’ve seen so many people do this.

OH WOW, the amount of detailed painting on those pieces is just amazing. They are beautiful! Sometimes, when a piece turns out too bright for me, I I'll use 1 or 2x a darker celadon....like maybe your rainforest. That blue gloss with celadon bloom, wow! Beautiful P Turq and T Mul. Your flower platter is lovely, it reminds me of my sweet grandmother. She LOVED yellow, orange and green. Very 70’s vibe. If I was local, I’d buy it. Seriously, it’s beautiful and it stirred my heart which is what art is supposed to do. 😊 And that sugar skull is FABULOUS.

I do love your videos so helpful. I’m not really a girly girl, I grew up using quite a lot of power tools. And I also do silver and goldsmithing . The water acts as a lubricant for sanding so using water helps make it more efficient, and helps stop the heat from the friction wearing down the discs , it’s not just for keeping dust down. Also if you take a fine ( I use 240 grit) sandpaper and use oil ( plain old cooking oil is fine , I use a home brand spray oil ) on the base of your pieces they will come up smooth as glass, even grogged clay or raku will be smoother . No risk of scratching furniture then. Hope that helps :)

Oooh thank you Nat another one to try. I can see one of these glazed with winterwood, Amaco deep firebrick red and light flux with babies breath in it for a Xmas centerpiece. Not sure I’m advanced enough yet , but maybe next year :)

I'm with you Tracey with sitting things on the edge of the kiln, I cringe whenever I see someone do it, yet I have found myself doing it now I film my kiln unloads too 😅 Your handbuilt pieces are lovely Nat!

Blue rutile needs at least 3 coats, sometimes 4 to get more of the blue and less brown, especially with the newer formulation. It’s my best selling glaze, but you need lots!
