@@scottbrunet8399 pull the right side cover. Sounds like the clutch arm is not aligned or you clutch pack is not installed correctly,

Thanks for the reply. Is it possible to have the clutch bolts too tight? I think the springs may be bound up too much.

@@scottbrunet8399 yes/no the bolts should be tight but I have seen some kits come with springs that are too long, and they bind when the bolts are tight. when the bolts are tight the spring should still have space between each winding, if they are touching the springs are too long.

I'm pretty sure that's the reason. Bought a heavy duty kit off of ebay. I might reinstall the old springs and give it a shot. Thanks for the advice. As always great videos, keep it up.

@@mrcbuilds Any recommendations on where to order a new clutch set ? decided if i’m going to do the bearing i might as well do the clutch as well, i have 1985 !

@@Stepbrother7390 ebc makes a good product you can find steels and disc and spring by EBC on ebay. The clutch factory and tusk are good brands too. If its a machine your going to ride and keep, id get a 1 way bearing by shindy and a new gasket. You would never have to go back in that side of the engine.

@@mrcbuilds odd that you would say that i have a one way bearing / gasket & oil filter from there sitting here waiting for a nice day to put it on ! & definitely going to keep this one , the frame is almost perfect for a 40 year odd year old bike. Hard to find one without rust/ tiny hole in the frame this day in age !

Those are some upgrades. I jave a front disx brake conversion to put on mine very soon. Mine has a twist grip on it, im still on the fence whether to keep ot or not. Over all its an amazing machine.

​@@mrcbuildsI went back and looked at the video and slowed it down in the parts where I could see the reads and the bolt pattern is definitely it's an 88 or an 89 jug 100% for sure I had one of these bikes and that's how I learned about the big reed motor and the small reed motor The 87 takes the same reads that the quadzilla does and your top end is definitely the newer top end they used those top ends from 88 till 92 when they discontinued the LT250R yours I knew was an 88 or an 89 by the way the rear suspension is because the 85 and the 86 is a non-power valve motor then you have the 87 that use the same reeds as the quadzilla but still continued to use the cantilever suspension 88 they changed the top end went to a smaller reed cage and that continued right till 92 but in 90 they changed the rear suspension to a link suspension instead of cantilever so if someone told you that was an 87 top end they were lying to you

​@mrcbuilds sorry no battery on my model. Non electric start version. I could tap into the head light but power only goes there when the head light switch is on. Ideally need to use the horn if not running the headlamp

@@stephenbonnell114 my mistake i was thinking you had a big red. Thats a good question, im thinking pull the headlight and with it running use a test light and see whats hot in the harness. Im thinking look for a yellow wire

@@jeffmullinix7916 on that engine the flywheel only goes on 1 way and the cam timing mark is a notch in the case.

Thanks for your reply . The cam sprocket can be installed at 360 out to the flywheel . I am not saying your nice CT70 is but I think my SL70 could be . I got the bike with a missing head . Rebuild the engine my self but How would I know ifor how can I check to know if I have it 360 out or can that happen if I am thinking right . Thanks for your help .

@@stevenpleasant5834 the 200s would have a 8 inch front tire and a smaller bolt pattern than a 200m. You will need a 200m hub and axle to work. The 200m was only made 2 years 84 and 85. Either top plates will work

@@mrcbuilds Hi, ok thanks for getting back to me on this so how do I know what front end I have I have bought two different top plates and they do not fit the last one I got the two outer 12mm bolts looks like the will line up but the stem hole is off it is to far in and will not fit down on forks.

The spinning clunk is the 1 way bearing. Shindy make one, you can find it on ebay. I would replace the clutch pack disc and steels while yout there.

Reverse can be sketchy

it only takes a 3 inch rock to throw them over so I never back up unless I need to and I watch for those little rocks now !!! yeah I tink I put 60k km on mine so far as the 3rd user. not sure how much usage from the first 2 others !!! beside a inner centrufal clutch I might need a timing cahin now !!! and I change the oil every 100hrs because of how hard I ride mine !!! anyone know where to get a new front shock at !!! mine are welded up so stuck near max heaght !!!
