About American Rapture, I reallyyy liked it but I reallyyy did not like Maeve Fly. I think what one of the biggest differences that shaped my opinion on them both was that Maeve Fly’s marketing/overhype set it up for readers to expect something totally different than what it was, and then it was kind of a let down when that didn’t happen. American Rapture was still pretty hyped, but I think more appropriately. Like it wasn’t marketed as something it wasn’t imo, especially to the extent MF was. I think AR is also a way more emotionally charged book with all the religious and grief aspects and personally I was able to relate to that more so than whatever Maeve had going on lol. But I still don’t think it would be a hit for everyone.

This book was a 3 star for me. I dont get the 5 star hypefest. The MC is unlikeable and didnt grow as a character. Not one character experienced any growth in this work. I was happy it was over.

I actually tried reading this book several months ago and found it boring but because of all the hype, I did finally finish it a couple of days ago. I was not impressed. I thought the story was pretty cool, but it really just made no sense and then all of a sudden there’s a brain tumor? I don’t think this is a spoiler because the brain tumor had literally nothing to do with the story.

Full Brutal is a great example of extreme/hardcore horror done so effectively it is difficult to finish, not because of poor quality, but quite the opposite. I'm about 60% through, and man, I kinda wanna see where it goes... but I need a break. This is a stressful read hahahaha
