My 1 Year on YouTube Anniversary Update.
Travel channels seem to be dominated by younger better looking people with more photo and editing skills than me. Can I make channel all about Rome Italy and will people tune in? Can I provide enough value? Can I get monetized? How much money will I be able to make? These are just some of the questions I had when I first started in May 2023. Now, a year later I have answers to some of my questions.
When I first started my channel I was making videos more about what we were doing and some things I found interesting in Rome but not really much value for the viewer and at fist growth was slow. After more then 6 months I pivoted a bit and started making videos with more of a how to or what to theme and viewers started responding better and some started to subscribe.
In the video I share how much my channel has grown over the past year, how much money I have made so far, and plans for the future.
Speaking of the future we have some very exciting news. Back in the day, whenever I strolled through Rome, I had my trusty sidekick: Let's Go Italy guidebook that felt like a key to unlocking every corner of the city. Who would've guessed that one day I'd be the one crafting a guidebook for Rome? Life works in mysterious ways, doesn't it? That's where Rome Travel Guida comes in - our very own Rome Italy guide book so you can also unlock the city or Rome.
You can order Rome Travel Guida now! The guide book is not quite finished yet but we are working everyday on it with new features and lessons added everyday. The cost is 1 time fee of $20 but for a limited time while the guide book is still under construction we are offering Rome Travel Guida for half off. Just $10 and you will get the completed as it is completed in real time. Your purchase will include all future updates. Rome Travel Guida is shaping up to be awesome!

    There will be many opportunities to gain a plenary indulgence in Rome during the 2025 Jubilee. For example, an individual can visit one of the four papal basilicas and then must have a firm resolve to repent from their sins, make a sacramental confession, receive holy communion, and pray for the intentions of the Pope. It’s best if these things can be done in the same day, but it is also fine as long as the individual carries them out within a couple weeks of visiting one of the basilicas. A plenary indulgence can be applied to oneself or to a deceased person. They remove not only spiritual punishment but temporal punishment, which essentially means that the individual, dying in grace, would not pass any time in Purgatory before entering Paradise.

    I've been watching videos for months trying to plan our 1 day in Rome, this is exactly what I've been looking for. My wife and I are early risers, so we'll be standing by the exit door on the ship by 6:30! My only concern is that I've purchased Train tickets on the app (trying to beat the lines), but I was unsure what time to get so i got tickets for 7:58 and 8:42. After watching your video, I feel like I should change it to 7:30-7:45. Our plan was to hit the Vatican first and work back into Rome and we have a 5:45pm train back to Civitavecchia

    • @RozierRoma
      @RozierRoma 21 годину тому

      The time on the tickets is not binding you can use it for earlier or later trains. Just validate on app before departure. Only trains with assigned seats are for a specific date and time. Hope you have a great time!!

    Yeah the problem in Italy with this people is that they don’t really get punished, and they have to be caught right handed in order to get prosecuted, most of those pick pockets are young ROM girls who claim to be underaged so they don’t get punished. Also some Peruvian, Chilean organised gangs. Watch out for this people They are very organised well dressed, they try to look like legit tourist.

      The best advise is to travel to Italy in the low season when hotels are over hael off and if you are traveling in high season book very early for best deals. One option is to base your trip from Tivoli just outside of Rome. Hotels and Airbnb from 70 euros plus a great city and you can take the train into Rome when you want. Also try rooms for rent on Airbnb you might find a decent deal.

    I agree the Monti is an excellent neighborhood. One year we stayed near the Cipro station, up behind the Vatican. We took the metro all the time. Another time we stayed in the Monti and didn't use the metro since everything was within easy walking distance. Though the same for the Campo de Fiori area. We actually stayed across the ally from Roscioli's, inside the footprint of Pompey's Theater. Later this week we are staying in Trastevere. A neighborhood that we have wandered into but never really explored. Great video. Walking is the best way to see Rome. There are hidden gems at every corner and in between. Here's a tip. There is an underground walkway from the Spagna metro station to the Villa Borghesi at the Porto Pinciana gate.

    1. Don't be cheap and take a taxi from the airport so you can avoid Termini the first day with all your bags. 2. Try to not dress so much like an obvious American tourist. 3. Learn some italian so you don't have to ask everyone if they speak English. That'll make you stand out like a sore thumb. 4. Buy a pac-safe or something similar with locks. 5. I have never been there. I did look it up on the map and saw that is located about halfway to Naples along the coast. It looks like more of a town for a quick day trip than a overnight, but I could be wrong if you’re looking for a place to stay a couple of nights with lots of Sandu, give Tivoli a shot.

      Where did you stay? I have a great idea for you. Try basing outside of Rome in a small town called Tivoli. You can easily take the train into Rome and check out some sites, but Tivoli is a fun town with lots to do and see. Great restaurants. No crowds, just awesome. Next time I recommend you giving that a try

    Do you know how to get to the dying city from Rome?

    • @RozierRoma
      @RozierRoma 6 днів тому

      The best way is to take a train to Orvieto, a little over an hour and then a taxi to Civita di Bagnoregio. There are busses at the Orvieto train station but they do not run very often. If you take the bus there is still about a 30 minute walk from stop to town.

    Thanks for making these wonderful videos. Heading to Rome in a month or so. I found a beautiful Air BnB in Esquilino near Piazza Vittorio. Which seems to be bordering the Monti neighborhood. I hear you saying a little distance away from Termini station makes a big difference (13 min walk to Termini one way, 15 min walk to Colosseum the other way even though Termini seems much closer than Colosseum on the map). I am traveling with my teenage daughter and have slight safety concerns after watching this video regarding Esquilino. When you say seedy…is the neighborhood unsafe to walk at night? I read every review of my Air BnB rental and no one mentioned any safety concerns. Reviews have very very high average on this particular BnB. Is it less safe on one side of Termini station versus the other? I get the feeling Monti is much safer, but it also seems to be so close to where we are staying. Appreciate your advice. I still have time to cancel and find something else if absolutely necessary thanks!

    • @RozierRoma
      @RozierRoma 6 днів тому

      No there are really no safety concerns to worry about. Theft takes place in most area. That is the only real problem. No shootings, stabbing or other violent crime to worry about. Right around the station just too many drifters so to speak. Moving away even a little helps a lot. I once stayed in an airbnb next to Piazza Vittorio and having the metro right there was great. I made a video about the metro and Rome's sites if you want to watch. I think it will help with getting around. here is the video.ua-cam.com/video/P-jmlQh2lYo/v-deo.htmlsi=9kWCL__N5LVqf9LU

      @RozierRoma 6 днів тому

      While there are some really good thing to see in Naples I like best just roaming through the Center Historical area, walking through the Spanish district and eating tons of food. The best food in all of Italy in my opinion. You can take the tram up the hill from the city center area and get great views of the city, Vesuvius, and there is a neat castle to tour up there. You can walk long the bay and most important eat the best pizza in the world! Naples is a huge city so it is also easy to get lost and maybe run into something unexpected. If your expectations are low and you like really nice people you may just fall in love with Naples. It is a city more about the culture that the sites for sure. If you want a very entertaining meal eat at Nennella. All inclusive 3 course meal and entertainment 16 euros.
