Awesome video yet again! I am taking notes and following your path on Google Maps, pausing to find my bearings. We're not big shoppers, so to go from Piazza Navona to Piazza del Popolo, we'd probably take Via di Ripetta and pass next to Augustus' Mausoleum (says it's temporarily closed, but I'll check again before we leave in late June 2025), it's about a 20 minute walk, 1.4 km. This will be our last family trip with our teen daughter, who will be 17 by the time we leave. The next trips will be with the missus, but my oldest, who is 22, also wants to make a father/daughter trip to Italy with me in a few years. We all want to go visit Larino, in the Campobasso province in the Molise region. It's where my nonno was born in 1915.

You lay every detail out so well and we will be using this itinerary for our 2 days in Rome when we return from our cruise October 30/24, we are staying at the Dharma boutique hotel for 2 days. Can you tell me when you were there in this particular video for reference to the weather? I see people wearing light jackets and no sandals. I'm not sure how to pack, and can't over pack because of the cruise.
The last half of October and the first half of November is usually ideal weather. A light jacket is typically all you need, If by chance the weather is cooler you can easily pick up a sweater or whatever for very good price in Rome. Lots of options. Most days are sunny with highs in the low 70's and lows in the upper 40's to low 50's F.
Hello. Your vids have lots of good advices, but, I do not like your ädvertising things . They are too long and make one confused. Next thing, is amateurs they buy your app or whatever you are selling and that is bull. Otherwise, good vids
I appreciate your comment and I find it very interesting. I agree my adds need to get better and shorter. I am not sure your point about "amateurs buy and that's bull"? Not sure if you know the amount of time I put into each video. I spend 10 to 30 hours to make 1 video that you get to view for free. The guide book I am selling I think is very helpful to anyone heading to Rome even if they have been there several times. People that purchase my guide book help support the channel and in turn I can make more helpful videos. I am glad you like the videos! My suggestion if you do not want to watch the promotion, skip ahead 10 seconds.

Hello - My wife and I are planning a to stay 3 nights in Rome and plan to sail on a cruise from Civitavecchia. What do you recommend for shuttle transportation from the international airport to a hotel (historic Rome) and transportation to Civitavecchia? We don't want to use the local buses or train due to our luggage. Thanks, and we appreciate your video clips!
You can get a taxi from the airport to the city center for a flat €50 directly to your hotel. Just get in line once you get to the airport at the taxi station €50 is for up to four people. If you end up getting into a black sedan that’s not marked. You need to pre-negotiate the fair. Only the official taxis Offer the fix rate €50. If you do not want to take a train from Rome, you will also need a taxi and it will cost around €80-€90 to get to the port. There are several trains that run from Rome to the port several times an hour and costs around €10 each.
Saint peters basilica used to open up at 8 AM but now it opens up at 7 AM. Most times of year as long as you get there before 8 AM. The line will be minimal but in peak season now you need to get there closer to 7 AM to avoid the line.

Things in Rome can get very expensive especially in peak season. Good deals can be found everywhere but fill up fast. If you are priced out of Rome take a look at Tivoli. A great town just outside of Rome that is easy to take a train into Rome. Save 100's per night
May I suggest an important place for art lovers? Just before entering Piazza Navona there is the Church of San Luigi dei Francesi, the church of the french in Rome. Please come in if you can. Here you will find 3 of Caravaggio's greatest masterpieces: The vocation of San Matteo, San Matteo and the angel and the martyrdom of San Matteo. Congratulations, your channel is super informative and of great visual and compositional quality.

Comunque è interessante programmare a Roma (ma anche in tutta Italia) percorsi a Tema: le ville Romane, la Roma dei Papi, La Roma nascosta, i ponti di Roma oppure l’Italia Bizantina, seicentesca, rinascimentale etc oppure i grandi Geni italiani etc… basta scegliere un tema e ne hai quante ne vuoi 😅grazie per la tua passione e per il faticoso lavoro che fai 🙏☮️
Rome does pasta right. There are so many good places. Rome is known for Carbonara and Amatriciana pasta so be sure to try these when you are there. Some of the most popular restaurants are in the Trastevere district. One of my favorites in Papa Re, a small place in Trastevere. Best for pasta not pizza. Very high priced restaurants are probably not the most authentic for the everyday Italian. Use Google reviews as there are more good places for pasta than bad places but there are some bad ones so just avoid those and you will be doing good.. If you are interested in pizza just know in restaurants there are typically Roman style or Napoli style but not both in the same restaurant. Rome is very very thin crust and Napoli is a thicker softer crust or more stereotypical. Have a great trip!.
A very ,very good video !! It made me feel like I walked there w you !! I've been there in 1983 !! Planning to go back there w mom !!! She's been there before as well. We both love Italy !! 🇮🇹 But ,too far from Tokyo ( we are Japanese ),but we live in L.A.,so the flight hr is much better ! We should had done it sooner !! Rome hasn’t changed too much since 1983. I lived there for two years from 1984 to 1986. It’s gotten a bit cleaner since back then and definitely more tourists. I’m glad you liked the video. I hope you can make it back soon.

I haven't been to Argentina, yet ,though ! That's great to know Rome hasn't changed much ,but cleaner now !! 👍👍As I do remember that there were garbage bags everywhere in the streets & the air pollution & exhaust from cars/ bikes were horrible !! You can look online to learn more about them but it is very pretty, lots of high end shopping and easy access to the metro and close to Villa Borghese. I very pleasant place to visit. Famous for many reasons and has a long history.

True it does slow down near closing. The problem is what time do you get there to avoid the line and yet still have time to spend inside? They have a cut off of entry before it actually closes. With a end of day approach you may still stand in line and when you get inside not have any time or you stand in line and they cut off before even getting inside. So much easier just to get there early by 8am or before and spend just a few minutes in line and minimal crowds once in. FYI Wednesdays it open after noon. Not the best day to visit.

Tour can get pricey. I usually opt for self guided but or app guided. Ask Siri! I usually stay in AirBnb.
