You could use the h64ify plugin for Firefox to force UA-cam videos to use the h264 decoder instead of the more modern CPU hungry ones and it could help with the cpu load and perf.

I own the Early 2005 version of this PM G5. Maxed out with a Nvidia 6800 Ultra DDL, 8 GB of RAM en SSD and two 23 Apple Cinema Displays. Using Sorbet Leopard on it and it runs like a charm.

im currently selling my 32gb ipad 6th gen, yeah half the storage was taken up by the os and i could barely have apps on there

The UA-cam issue is probably from the VP9 codec UA-cam moved to. It makes my thinkpad with a dual core skylake i5 chug since there’s no hardware decoding. There is a Firefox extension called H.264ify that USED to force UA-cam back to 264 but in my experience, it seems to be broken or makes so little difference I can’t tell.

Use safari and not chrome on Linux systems

Well i almost lived like that in the early days of Android tablets, i had 1GB of "internal storage" but somehow i was able to move almost all of my apps to the 8GB "built-in" memory card... Dunno how the manufacturers thought of this, but it kinda worked... Running out of space is kinda bad, but thank you for the video!!! I didn't watch all of it, but i know it was good!!! Also ouch 8GB of storage on an Apple Watch? And you were forced to reset it to apply a late software update? Like wow, i really appreciate Apple's commitment to supporting their devices this long with software updates, although the lack of space really seems to be an issue on older devices!!! Anyways, i like Apple's software support!!! Keep it up!!

I don't know what your computers specs are but maybe a ram upgrade would help you. Streaming uses up memory. Increasing your ram may help.

I'm watching your video right now on a Pentium 4 dual core prescott processor with 8 gigs of Ram and a 2 tb hard drive. I'm using Linux mint 21 and I can even stream on this system. The UA-cam videos are a little slow but for most simple tasks outside of gaming this computer works fine. I'm getting a brand new system soon. But I'm still going to use this computer for fooling around. I may even add a cheap GPU at some point to give it a little more punch. But I run UA-cam at a measley 360 to make it run smoother. However its perfect for watching DVD movies or any videos that I have downloaded.

When people talk about how inefficient the pentium 4 was I always mention the G5. Shame snow leopard or lion didn’t run on the G4/G5 devices. I feel the later PowerPC Macs were cut off a bit too soon and were certainly powerful enough to run a few more OSX releases. Apple seems to be doing the same with their intel macs now that the M series chips are out.

iOS 8 was pretty much just as slow as iOS 9 on the A5 devices. The last update that was good for the A5 devices was iOS 7.

I once had a Power Mac G5 with the same dual 2.3 GHz CPUs as yours, and I upgraded it with two SSDs (a 120 GB and an 80 GB, I think), a 128 MB AGP video card and a bunch of USB and FireWire cards. Funnily enough, I wanted to upgrade the G5 to 8 GB of RAM (this model's maximum), but after a long process of gathering compatible sticks, I called it at a peculiar 7 GB.

I'm getting there. My Uni discount is coming up to renew at regular. I do like it and use it almost every sing day. Not cause it's better, just easier. I hate that if I let it go and come back I think we loose our playlist memory. And it's not as straight forward getting your own personal music to Apple Music Playlist like old iPod iTune. U can use sync but it's not as individual as old iTuns in Windows Mac I have UA-cam TV (so I never miss your add free content) and love included Yt Music and so much more. At least when a UA-cam Music saved playlist song disappeared, they tell you what it was so you can try to find it somewhere else. I used that iPod Video Loved it. But do know that do not make it easy for you to get your own music off of it so back it up somewhere else.
