I’m watching this on the 128gb 6S I bought new on November 2nd 2015. Still works fine. On its 3rd OEM battery and got to say the battery doesn’t last long nowadays. It can just about get through a day as long as I don’t browse the internet too long. But it still does everything I want it to and it hasn’t been slowed to a crawl by updates like my old 4S was. So at least Apple got that part right. I may be ready to upgrade by the time the iPhone 16 is released.
I had the iPhone 6s as my daily phone during the iOS 10-11 era, and I really enjoyed my time with the device, one of my favorites aside from the iPhone 13 Pro Max and iPhone 11, but I can say that my particular unit ran HOT, throttled a lot, and i had one battery lose more than 10% health in a year - yikes. So the poor longevity of the battery was one of the reasons I was so glad to get a newer device when in college, albeit i didn't need it nearly as bad back then but when I was having to charge my phone at least twice a day when the battery was a year old? No bueno. But at least the cameras were usable for shooting video, and I did a bunch of that with that phone since that was the only good camera I had. Still do that to this day with my iPhone 14 Pro Max, so it's only gotten better (then again it should've cause the price went up a bunch since then). But I'm sure I had a bad unit since chipgate was a thing, and I was the unfortunate soul to get the Samsung A9 phone, not a TSMC A9 phone, ah well.
Hey, just discovered your channel, and your content looks so cool! I am planning to do some content like this on my own channel soon as well. Amazing video! believe it or not, I just got a space gray 6s donated to me this weekend by a close friend (at&t wouldent take it for a trade in for his iPhone 12) and I have plans to sim unlock it, move my tracfone sim to it, replace the battery, and use it. So far, just with small tasks, very happy with its performance on iOS 14 (wont be upgrading to 15 until app support for 14 is dropped), and I am very pleased with all the features of the phone, especially with the screen, which looks way better than in my current phone screen. Keep up the great work, and hope that work will stop torturing you soon (Trust me, your schedule will become more stable soon and you will find more energy to do stuff).
Absolutely. I Stil have as a bk up. It’s my iPod Touch replacement. It has the diver caee so it’s My expendable beach goer. It does as u said but for us modern or younger tech blokes, u feel it’s age in app taxing task , runs out of memory quicker in some updated ram hungry social & streaming apps (if multiple task open) Otherwise, fine w/ new battery. Even the XS Max is showing its memory age Both awesome phones.
I have an iPhone 11 Pro Max on iOS 17. I had it on iOS 16 paired to my Apple Watch Series 3 and they did NOT work together. In June I upgraded to the SE 2 and I couldn’t go back! Great video!
Hey, yesterday i found my old ipad 1 and to my surprise it still works good. And the battery is still good. Ive seen that you are trying to get ios 7 on there, have you done anything with it recently and made any progress with it? I would love to know.
@@Karaoke-BearNice. I think Apple is interested in maintaining its brand as a security first company that’s why it keeps on providing security patches. This is very good news for the consumer, I think.
Up to you, it’s a good phone for jailbreaking, and still can be used with cellular carriers, but iOS 12 is really starting to show its age at this point.
8 year old phone and still getting security updates, this is why iphones are still ahead and one of the reasons why i switched to iphone 2 weeks ago.
Not with the Pixel 8!

Wait, you were still using the 6s as ur daily phone? Dang I have one as well with the 128gb but the l battery is so bad. It says it holds “77%”
@@tonyperez5742yes. It’s my daily phone. Needs to be charged twice a day but the actual using part is fine. Does everything I need perfectly well.
@@tonyperez5742I hate apple batteries they’re so bad I don’t know why

Just as I was watching this video, iOS 15.8 RC dropped.
same dude
Even though my primary phone is a 12 mini, I still regularly use my 6s plus to watch videos on youtube because of the 16:9 display.

I still love the design of the 6

still using the 7 series 😢 this phone still good for daily but the battery
Still have a 6s as a Apple Music player.
Any updates on iPod 4gen iOS 7
Is it safe to use without security patches? In practice all good? No virus issues etc?
It still receives patches.

Should I buy a iphone 6 👀

I think the iPhone 6S is too slow on iOS 15 and overheats a lot, so I do not think the 6S is usable in 2023.
i use it
@@muradh5888 is it a good daily phone?

Also you haven’t used the iPhone 4s on iOS 9
