$500 Navigator Swapped F150 Project Runs and Drives!
Переглядів 1,6 тис.2 місяці тому
After finding a totally blown engine in the $500 F150 tow rig truck, we tore it out and found a 2002 Lincoln Navigator engine to rebuild and swap in. The navi swap gives us 40 horsepower over the stock 2v engine, thanks to the Navigator engine being a 4v 5.4 v8 engine. In this episode, we drop the freshly rebuilt engine back in the truck and get it running and driving under its own power for th...
Gotta Make It Ride Like a Dream! Full Suspension Overhaul on the 2001 F150 Tow Rig Project
Переглядів 3322 місяці тому
The suspension on the Navigator Swapped 2001 F150 was totally abysmal and not something I wanted to spend any time driving, so I decided to overhaul it all. In this episode, I replace every suspension component in the front end of the F150 tow rig project. I also slap some new rear shocks on and give the diff some fresh fluid. Next episode the engine is going back in!

Gaining 40HP With an Engine Swap in the F150 Budget Tow Rig - Ford 5.4 4v Short Block Rebuild
Переглядів 8413 місяці тому
In this episode of the $500 budget F150 tow rig project, I discovered that we can swap in a Lincoln Navigator engine and get rid of the blown engine. This swap is awesome because you gain 40 more horsepower thanks to the fact that the Navigator motor is a dual overhead cam 32v engine, and all of this comes with no major mods required. I managed to find a complete 2002 Navigator engine nearby so...
The Scariest Job on Any Car: 100 Series Land Cruiser Timing Belt, Radiator, And More

The BEST Toyota Ever Made Is Back In The Fleet! (Land Cruiser 100 Series)

Many will agree when I say that the Toyota Land Cruiser 100 series is one of, if not the best, Toyota ever made. I absolutely love this platform having had a rusty LX470 for a number of years that I put nearly 40,000 miles on. It's WAY Worse Than a Blown Head Gasket - $500 F150 Tow Rig Engine Tear Down

This budget F150 tow rig that I scored for $500 and with an engine in unknown condition has turned out to be a heck of a lot more damaged than I initially thought. So in this episode, we're pulling the 5.4 Triton V8 out of the truck and doing a full tear down on it. Curious how bad it is? Le...

27:12 Just got done with doing the spring compression… I agree that’s the worst part of the job along with having to cut out the seized sway bar link nuts. I installed OEM struts instead of kyb excel G and it was frustrating because I had to keep recompressing the springs to twist and properly align the shock tower mounts in order to correctly fit in with the rest of the suspension.

You could have kept the original parts and just pressed out the old bearing and pressed in the new one. Waste of money buying that whole tensioner (just sayin') and the only thing NSK on that idler is the bearing itself. Not ragging on ya ... just some (money saving) info to put in your back pocket. Know when to keep money (and time) for more important things (and tools - like an arbor press 😉). Those tensioners don't wear out (i haven't seen it yet - it's a spring), just the pulley bearing. Keep it up! Yeah brother, I'd say yo went overboard with the FIPG and it got into the water jacket. It's getting pumped through the whole system. Be vigilant with that temp gauge! It may happen again. I only wish I could be so good natured when sh*t doesn't go my way. I'm generally throwing stuff and dropping F-bombs like a B-52 🤣

Freaking awesome! Some helpful tips from somebody that has a 10th gen also a, lightning to be specific. Get a standalone trans cooler to avoid killing your trans (from experience here water got into mine because of a bad radiator) oh, and upgrade the radiator to the 3inch if it doesn't have it yet. You can find it on the 4x4 expeditions of the same generation. Highly recommend getting electric fans and wire them with the 3 relay 2 speed setup to avoid huge amp draws at start up in case you decide to set up on a switch for the a/c and the high on a 190 temp switch. My truck was a hoopty and ive had to do so much to it and im glad because it teaches you a lot.

This is really the engine that this generation of F150 should’ve had in the first place to be more competitive with the output of the GM trucks of the day, but Ford wanted to save a few bucks per truck. What really surprised me back in the day is that Ford didn’t even give the Lightning or Supercharged Harley Davidson F150’s the 4 valve heads. Nicely done.

For me: My trick is... I wear my watch depending on the country I'm in. LHT country = left wrist, RHT = right. How long? pretty quick I still feel more at home. Believe it or not, I've learned to drive for the first time using a "wrong" hand drive car (country is Indonesia/Australia = RHD), in this case I was using a LHD jeep. Also owns "correct" hand drive cars.

Thanks for sharing your experiences. I'm considering importing a land cruiser which diesel engine. Are you planning to make a video about your 100 series land cruiser experience? Would love to watch.
