  • It's started to feel like the Celsior was cursed, and even more so when the car overheated. Luckily, I caight the overheat quickly enough and discovered where the problem lies.
In this episode, we finish up the LS430 alternator install on this UCF20 Celsior, along with new pulley and belt tensioners and a few other new parts. But most excitingly, we go for the proper first drive since the new suspension and alignment were done and it's so awesome.
This car rides amazingly well, it's smooth, quiet, and comfortable. Exactly what I want out of a daily driver. If you have an LS400 or a Toyota Celsior and you're considering doing a suspension refresh - do it! Also, it solved my rear end clunk when I shift into drive which is huge.

JJ, your commitment to this project is nothing short of amazing. As someone who enjoys modifying every car he owns, I’m suprised how on board I am with the returning to OEM. Keep up the great work!

I hear you on that! I’ve modified most of my cars, so it’s nice to have one that’s solid, reliable and OEM. Thanks for watching

I got my son a 96 LS 400 and I really wanted to tackle the suspension but man it looked like a Pain in the A but this video is great if I decided to do it you killed it. We put a stereo system in it and that was kind of crazy but turned out kick A.

Finished my ball joints yesterday and aligned it with toe plates. They were GRINDING and now they're smooth as butter. I have all the control arms but I'm going to change them with coilovers. I did that idler pulley and tensioner a while ago, would've been nice to have this video back then 😅 but I figured it out!

Heck yeah!! Did you replace just the ball joint itself?

That cut from “it’s driving so good” to a smoking engine was hilarious. I hope that was intentional lol

These cooling systems are very sensitive. There is usually a bleeding procedure sticker on top of the reservoir but it falls off easily.

Are you replacing the radiator when you do the water pump, timing belt and pulleys? the radiator is looking brownish on the top and eventually it will crack or start leaking at the tank seams.
    Love the car!

That doesn’t sound ideal! I hadn’t thought about it much really, but makes sense to do since it’ll end up coming out for that job anyway

You could have kept the original parts and just pressed out the old bearing and pressed in the new one. Waste of money buying that whole tensioner (just sayin') and the only thing NSK on that idler is the bearing itself. Not ragging on ya ... just some (money saving) info to put in your back pocket. Know when to keep money (and time) for more important things (and tools - like an arbor press 😉). Those tensioners don't wear out (i haven't seen it yet - it's a spring), just the pulley bearing.
    Keep it up!
Yeah brother, I'd say yo went overboard with the FIPG and it got into the water jacket. It's getting pumped through the whole system. Be vigilant with that temp gauge! It may happen again.
I only wish I could be so good natured when sh*t doesn't go my way. I'm generally throwing stuff and dropping F-bombs like a B-52 🤣
