P. G. Wodehouse, Jeeves and the Greasy Bird. Short story audiobook read by Nick Martin.
Written a lot later in 1965 and twice the usual length, the very lovable Bertie Wooster is still helping out his pals and family and of course requires a little back up from Jeeves to complete the desired results. Many of the familiar characters are here, including the Glossops and Aunt Dahlia, plus some new ones that Bertie will no doubt be pleased to never see again.

A ghost story it may well be and a Wodehouse classic it certainly is. With its quirky characters and dry gentle cutting humour, it is set in the English countryside in the mid 1920's - during that wonderful couple of decades between the two world wars.

I studied English Lit., I've taught it in public schools, (U.S.) and have been a steady reader since learning how over fifty years ago. P. G.W.'s stories have been the absolute bright spot of the lot. (With Mark Twain running a very close race). Thank you for the delight of your narration!

From Chicago, Western burbs', I first heard of pgw from my father, he would read these late at night, when everyone was in bed, at 11 or 12 midnight, dimly lit living room, pipe on the side table, and Brandy or bourbon aside. That was 50y ago, he is now passed, was 92, at the time, two years ago. When we cleaned out the living room, "The man upstairs ", was lying open, on the couch, next to his Bible and their wedding collage. True. M.
