Welcome and hello,
I live in West Wales, United Kingdom and I occasionally read and record a few stories and put them on here, just for a bit of fun and if some of you enjoy listening that's fine with me.
Thanks, Nick

A ghost story it may well be and a Wodehouse classic it certainly is. With its quirky characters and dry gentle cutting humour, it is set in the English countryside in the mid 1920's - during that wonderful couple of decades between the two world wars.

Remember cousins Claude and Eustace? They are back again, "and more or less generally admitted to be the curse of the human race" Written in 1922 and set in the Cotswolds this story follows on directly from Comrade Bingo Has a Bad Goodwood. If you have a moment do look in on brother Richard's Cotswold Woollen Weavers. The details will pop up on screen during the story.

I am learning so much from Jeeves’ deadpan responses. Useful at Christmas get togethers. Wot?
I am in lust with those blankets. For real. Googling...
Oh, what a relief...somehow got an AI reader on the last. So stressful.
Thank you Nick!!
Fantastic reading! Pure enjoyment! Thank you so much!
This sounds so much like Richard Briers. No?
Very Roald Dahl. “< : >” like Picasso cat
Extremely jolly!😁
32:04 Shi’ - nec - taydy!!!! We check on the pronunciations of English cities, etc. Don’t you think they should check on ours?? Chalmondelly (sp?) is Chumly. Well, Shi’ - nec - tady, which is absolutely and totally ridiculous 🤣 is really ski - neck’ - tehdy ( i as in its.) Schenectady is in New York State. :) ☀️💙🌷🌱😊
"Pie-faced little thug"! 😂😂. Yep. A perfect description of Thomas AND Edwin.
Thank you William - you are a fabulous dog :) 🐕
Remuoon. . . - remunerrn - remunerative ! Yup! Not an easy word. Somewhat of a tongue twister - What! LOL - Alexa, New York 🌷🌱
Finn, you naughty doggie LOL Nick, you’re a scream 😁🐶 🌷🌱
Never heard this one before! It’s amazing how Jeeves arranges things :) Wodehouse was a genius at these stories 😊🌷🌱
As I’ve said before, your readings are brilliant - I just love your Wodehouse and I’ve been ‘marathoning’ since yesterday.. it’s so fantastic when when I find a really good reader!! :) But, for a second there I thought I was hearing a regular American accent, but it soon was apparent that it was a southern one. It seems many English actors just cannot do a normal American accent and do a southern one. It is really funny to hear characters from New York, or the Midwest, or California speaking with a southern accent. 😁🤣🌷🌱
You have quite a talent for accents and voices for different characters. :) The soft southern accent of Clarissa was lovely, if you don’t mind me using a feminine adjective.😊 Wonderful story and reading. Thanks much again! :) 🌷🌱
Thank you
Thanks again. So great to find another really good reader amongst all chaff. :) ☀️💙🌷🌱
Brilliant reading - thanks so much. I just knew that was going to happen 😂
One of the finest from the Master of Wit. Great narration! Thank you Sir
Another wonderful reading. So funny. :) ☀️🌷🌱
Thank you
Love the bit at the end. LOL wonderfully read. 🤣😂😊

Very well read, highly enjoyable! Thanks and regards
Thank you
Millones de gracias!!
Thank you!
It's a delight indeed
Thank you
Fabulous. So funny
Sixteen shillings and eighteen pence is seventeen and six pence
Well spotted! You are quite right, it was a mis-read and should have been sixteen shillings and eight pence. Sorry to all. Maybe something to be said for AI?
Fabulosi
Great enjoyed this. Dog Finn is cool.
Wonderful
😂Outstanding! ❤
I was delighted by the simile involving 'G K Chesterton falling on a sheet of tin'. I imagine Chesterton (who had no illusions about his size) was probably heartily amused, if he heard it. Also, it's a fascinating sidelight on social history, and how things have changed, that a family that could afford to keep a parlourmaid could be considered so socially inferior that Cedric Mulliner is positively Red Revolutionary for marrying into it!
Yes, of all the things to fall on tin. What, you have no parlour maid?
@@Trickynickymarts Alas, no! Not even what Oswald Bastable calls 'a General'. How inferior can one get?
Just like a warm hug ❤thank you .
Started reading his books at my Granny’s house , still love him. Top notch! ❤
This was my first Wodehouse book and it was an absolute delight! I kept snorting with surprised laughter. The narration is wonderful, thank you so much for doing this, it's an absolute balm! ♥
Thank you!
Wonderful. Just wonderful. ❤❤❤🎉 Thank you very much yr performance gave me such pleasure.
Thank you
😂❤Divine! Tyvm
Absolutely delightful😂❤ Tyvm Nick
Lovely story and great narration. Thankyou for sharing. Best wishes
Fell in love with PG Wodehouse as a kid , still love his books! Thank you ❤
👏💪✌️👌😺🕺🔥🤯🧨
The Empire Builder killing most ferocious animals wirh his pocket knife and the lovely lady with her eyes partly like twin stars and partly like snails! PGW, the last word in humor with amazing mastery over language. Brilliant narration as ever. Thank you
“Is that all there is of him??!!” 😂
Thank you for being a human. Just escaped an American, (ai?) proclaiming, "p g WOEd house. Good grief!
Its very clever but annoying too! Similar to driverless cars, almost as good for some of the time.
