Oh joy! To me Nick you are the best Jeeves & Wooster! Your characterisation of these iconic characters are second to none! Every night I listen over and over again so it’s amazing when I randomly switch on and there’s something new from you. Thank you sir xx
Well hello Tricky. So happy to see you again. Time for 40 winks and you'll help that along nicely. The good thing about that is I can listen to you over and over xxx😂😘
I am so glad i stumbled upon these fantastic stories by P G Wodehouse. Bertie Wooster and his valet, Jeeves never fail to make me laugh outloud close to continuously in every story. For some idiotic reason, i had always thought Wodehouse wrote science fiction, which i used to enjoy very much but not anymore- for about the last 20 years. Anyway, ive been going through a great loss for over a year now, and thank God for PG Wodehouse! His stories are hilarious and when listening, my uncontrolled laughter is very goid medicine for my grieving soul. ❤💔 ❤
Nick my dear I'm relieved to hear from you! It's been too long. Of all the many chs I sub, you & Matthew Jones, aka MJam from London, are the only ones I set for notifications. (I've been saving this one until I could give it the full attn it deserves. A special treat what!) I know you are a very busy chap but the long wait is agony. 😊 As I've said for yrs it baffles the addled that you are not mega famous! We all feel special to be in your audience...BEST PGWs since the days of masters like Richard Briers! ✔👏👍😍 TYSM luv! 😉
Oh, that we could all be able to consult Jeeves, there's no snafu that he can't sort out! Thank you for another delightful reading, Mr. Martin. I hope you are having a wonderful weekend. All the best!
Poor Bertie, as ever. I begin to believe that he should be nominated for canonisation. How he deals with his ghastly family is quite an example to us lesser mortals. Thank you so much for reading this for us.😊
Most excellent. Nick Martin is the bee's knees! I have to admit though that it's a veritable double edged sword sort of thing though. I have become a Wooster & Jeeves addict I fear. It's all a tad rummy!
My dearest Lord “M”! I’m over the moon to see your new posting - my apologies for arriving late; I need to review my settings! Many thanks from one of your devoted fans! Carry on Jeeves! Cheers and best wishes, julie
Thanks for reading thanks For reading these great stories cheers Me up Won't go near Sanitizer books it is Ridiculous what is happening to Great books Of the past.
What a unexpected delightful surprise to come across this reading & channel tonight. Fell in ♥️will Jeeves & PG Wodehouse several yrs ago after hearing on BBC 4. Have sub'd to yr channel & Thank you for bringing this into my orbit!
I, for one, will never buy a sanitized book. Are people suddenly now so sensitive that they can’t understand writers of yesteryear were living in a different culture? It’s like those who say they would have acted differently to the way people in the past reacted to slavery, the oppression of women or the nazis. No, they wouldn’t have.
How is what they are doing to some of our greatest classics legal or allowed?! I've been repeatedly stunned by such news! In fact the first time or two I just knew it had to be fake news. 😤😢
Are they no longer called "abridged" books? Is "sanitized" the new term? As long as they're clearly labeled as such, and the originals are still available; abridged versions of books have been around for decades.
If this is ACTUALLY YOU and not, as I had supposed a recording of someone else, then I wish I'd found you during lockdown! You are AMAZING and perfect. Also, your brother's shop...Is it the products purchased for the Cotswolds/Welsh home of Charles and Camilla? I saw a documentary where those traditional weaves were a huge favourite and they bought quite a few for their home? ❤
An immensely enjoyable story that only PGW, God bless him, could have concocted, with equally enjoyable narration by Nick Martin. Sincere thanks Sir for sharing. B
Its a pathetic new age problem that we have become too precious and sensitive to hear the words of yesteryear. We need to understand our history to improve our future .Book or word burning is the ultimate expression of control of the human race, and dumbing down of us.
WONDERFUL to have you here with us again ! 🤗✨🙌✨🙌✨🙌✨👍🏼❤️❤️❤️
Thank you for giving us another Jeeves story Nick! I listen to them often.
Best…narrator…ever!
His Aunt Agatha deserves an Oscar. 🤣

Mr. Martin your brilliant performance of P. G. Wodhouse’s immortal works is one of the very few bright spots in this ghastly times we are living.
What a treat, much appreciated
Innocuous as a couple of sprightly young tarantulas!
Most excellent. Nick Martin is the bee's knees! I have to admit though that it's a veritable double edged sword sort of thing though. I have become a Wooster & Jeeves addict I fear. It's all a tad rummy!

@@TedaR Sadly, it’s not fake news. At least they’re going to keep printing the original classics. This woke nonsense is social contagion.
@@lizparker8431 I know. . But that's enough of that..the nonsense is not allowed to invade this, our happy place 😁
@@TedaR 👍

Please add a link for donations to your channel, would be nice to thank you with more than just words and support your channel❤
Etons color is, i believe, a vivid blue green. Striking on the sports field, loathsom for footwear
Another wonderful reading. So funny. :) ☀️🌷🌱

I always buy used books ! Very few new editions of books I like are available in our bookshops ,such as they are.

Also, betting on the parson’s sermons!😂😂😂

I think that great writing stands up to removing words that are offensive to modern sensibilities. Christie and Conan Doyle are good examples.
Its yet to be seen if 'modern sensibilities' stands up to changing times.
But others, like Roald Dahl and C S Lewis, do not. What then? Warp the books beyond recognition, or just toss them on the nearest trash heap?
