  • Two chapters taken from The Inimitable Jeeves that form a complete episode in the life of Bertie, still in New York lying low and away from his Aunt Agather - well almost.

    Huzzah! A new Jeeves and Wooster story from Lord Nick! I was beginning to think something unfortunate had happened to you, old thing. Topping, simply topping!

      I was not thinking "unfortunate," but more along the lines of Nick's being snatched up to an exclusive contract with Audible and then we would have to pay for this fun and enjoyment (not that he wouldn't be worth double the price).

    Yay, hooray & hoorah! So glad to hear from ya Nick! Hope all is well with you & yours!
    This was perfection as usual! My grin hurts from the huge goofy smile plastered on my face throughout! Even your Yank was great, although slightly more Dixie than New Yorker, but imo that made it all the better! Absolutely top hole what! TYSM as always my dear! 👏👍😍

    I need to skip reading other's comments.
    This world is full of critics, who's goal seems to be the spoiling of the pleasure of performance.
    No one is born perfectly able to entertain. It takes trying, practice and mercy, not to say kindness, don't you know.
    Very few of them have the courage to put their creations out in the world for other critics to enjoy cutting to ribbons.
    Keep up the good work. I enjoy your narrations. I'll probably be criticized for it.😉😀

      "Cove" is originally thieves cant dating back to the 16th century.

    • @countottovanshanoo822

      In this context it means 'bloke', a sort upper class slang.

  • @judeirwin2222
    @judeirwin2222 2 роки тому +3

    Once again, too many mispronunciations have crept in. "Noblesse oblige" is almost right until an extra syllable is tacked on. Then there was "injurous". No such word exists. It is "INJURIOUS" - 4 syllables. And so it goes. No voice director can be perceived in any of these attempts by Nick Martin.

    • @rjmendlein
      @rjmendlein Рік тому +3

      I'm guessing that Nick is not able to afford the voice director and probably uses his "profits" to buy himself a cup of tea every now and then. It's not the criticism, but the tone...

      Couldn't disagree more. Could not stop laughing - he makes every word hilarious. His delivery could not be funnier! He's brilliant, and I always thought every mispronounced word in all of his readings were absolutely part of the comedy; it shows Bertie's naivete, despite being so worldly. Bravo Mr. Martin!
