I’m in awe of how you mastered the stutter. Incredible. Must have been very difficult. You are THE very best Wodehouse reader. Ignore those nitpickers over the songs. They are so blinkered as to miss the whole point.
Dear Lord “M” - you’ve lifted my spirits with another delightful performance; I remain your devoted fan and as always bow down to your brilliance and entertaining story telling. Cheers, julie
Sooo delightful! I have read this wonderful story more than once over the years, and now I have listened three times to your perfect narration of it. Every sentence pure joy! Thank you so very much!!! ❤
Indubitably, without a doubt, sure enough making me laugh out loud again with your delivery 🤣🤣. Have been waiting on your new material and you delivered with bells on!
I really enjoy your short form readings - perfect for my morning commute. That said if, you ever felt like doing one of the longer stories I bet none of us would object!
Real medicine for joy and happiness!( so necessary in those times....). Tv Wodehouse playhouse was also funny with John Alderton. I'm sure playing on scene you are as great as a reader! 😍👏🏻❤️
Admittedly, I have always considered myself more of a Saki fan as opposed to Wodehouse for some reason, but you've singlehandedly changed my views. My only issue now is that I believe you've ruined me from any other format to enjoy his work, including reading it myself - I honestly can't see any way to truly appreciate his writings without your reading of them. Thank you, I guess... Cheers
Nick, I'm a massive fan of your readings, and feel you're the best on the net for J and W. I enjoy some of your work nearly daily. But this one didn't make it for me, because maybe you didn't realise that the songs that George sings are actual songs, well known in their time, with very distinctive melodies. My grandfather sang them to the cows when milking, and my mother still sung them when i was growing up. They were popular radio numbers. You wouldn't consider re-recording this with the authentic tunes, would you? I bet they'll be on the net, and the names are easily guessed from the key lines.
@@rebeccabedford9855I knew all of those songs. It’s so funny how you assume you know so much more than anyone else. 😂😂😂 And no, playing the actual songs instead of having George sing them, would NOT have been better. The point is that HIM singing them made him able to speak without stammering. When you have your own channel you can do it your way. Until them STFU and just say thank you.
I have read this story to my gifted students over many years, and I’m old enough to know all the songs except for the one about “I Have a Nice Thermos-“ Can anyone identify that one for me?
I forgot. The Wind in the Willows played t e a f o r t w o, the sky was yellow and the sun was blue, strangers stopping strangers just to shake their hand. Everybody playing in the heart of gold band, Heart of Gold band
Agree but unfortunately quite impossible as this narrator is totally tone deaf. Luckily the specialist also had a sensitive ear and shut him up pronto!
You are wonderful; splendid; most excellent; superlative; well-voiced; generous; good to listen to; an optimal orator; and marvellous.
If it wasn't so cold out here in Michigan, I would be outside running around doing a happy dance! A new story from my favorite narrator! 🤣 Yippie!!!
If it wasn't so dreary here in Chicago, I would be right by your side, happy dancing with ya. 🌧️ March '24. M. IL
I almost feel guilty listening on my sun-soaked balcony in Vancouver.
Wonderful, thank you!❤
I know what I will be listening to during my long walk tomorrow. Wodehouse in the woods, yes sir! 👏✌️🕺🏖️☀️🤫

I really don't think anyone except a very few persons would know that
Now I’ll listen more closely. So far the story is confusing.

Hobgoblin, is it "the Thermos song" on UA-cam?
UA-cam has lots of versions of "Tea for two" including by folk like Frank Sinatra and Doris Day. But my fave is Ella Fitzgerald. Fun!
😂 the Grateful Dead do a number called Scarlet Begonias, and there's a line that goes, and The Wind in the Willows played tea for two
I forgot. The Wind in the Willows played t e a f o r t w o, the sky was yellow and the sun was blue, strangers stopping strangers just to shake their hand. Everybody playing in the heart of gold band, Heart of Gold band
Poor George😂
I live Wodehouse - it would have been good if the narrator had learned the popular Melodie’s of the songs he sang to the wrong tunes
Agree but unfortunately quite impossible as this narrator is totally tone deaf. Luckily the specialist also had a sensitive ear and shut him up pronto!
More please. T'would be velvet. Spiffing, what! 😂
