Nailed it Pastor! You have described fundamentalists to a "T". One group that I am familiar with is Independent Fundamental Baptists, from which the Lord brought me out. They are so difficult to talk to about almost ANY doctrine. I get being convinced of one's position, but in their circles it's their way or the highway. They are very black and white and NEVER see any nuance or tension in the Bible, because they have it all figured out. Great video!

I have never met a fat Christian that believes they're going to hell for being fat. Modern Christians pick and choose what they like out of the Bible and religious teachings like an all-you-can-eat salad bar and ignore the rest. It reminds me of liberals and the US Constitution!

the scriptures do not say that the father, son and holy ghost are co-equals. it says that the father is god and is the father, the son is god and is the son, and the holy spirit is the spirit of god. scriptures also say that man is the head of woman, christ is the head of man, and god (presumably the father) is the head of christ. the scriptures say many things about the father, son and holy spiritual and with these we should be satisfied

There are endless spiritual & ministry gifts sitting latent in the pews because the establishment can't afford to lose them, lose "volunteers," or manage contentions that may arise. When it comes to prioritizing unity, that doesn't mean at the expense of uniformity where essential doctrines are concerned. The truth is, accountability & balance are best, no, ONLY found in authentic, life-sharing, prime-time RELATIONSHIP. that pop churchianity can't/doesn't provide, and doesn't dare promote. Concerning facilities, yes financial stewardship is a component, but of utmost concern is its nature as a HABITAT for both God's presence, and the Church's community. For every organism, there is an ideally matched habitat where it will best both survive and thrive. Isolation and individualism couldn't be any more prevalent in settings where we must sit and stare at the back of one-anothers' heads for "fellowship" prime time. God promotes CHURCH "individualism" when He says that EVERY ONE, EVERY TIME you gather, should have something to contribute in the way of, "teaching and admonishing one-another" (and all of the other one-anothers'). This was such a great video, thank you for giving biblical advice regarding this subject, I’ve been a believer for a year now and my very stubborn and often times very mean unbelieving husband has threatened to leave the whole time! He just always ends up deciding to stay, ngl it’s wearing me out and has made me lose the motivation I once had to pray and things like that. This was very helpful, I’ve made a ton of mistakes ofc being a new believer but I know God is faithful to forgive us when we come to Him in repentance, just praying it hasn’t done damage to my testimony and His future salvation. Please say a prayer for me this is the hardest situation I’ve ever dealt with in my life. We are both divorcees who came into this with 2 kids each and we had 3 together of our own. I became a believer in our 8th year of marriage and our marriage has been a nightmare ever since. He hates that I go to church and follow the Bible’s teachings ( he thinks the Bible is a lie written by flawed men to control society into government obedience) and we can’t agree on anything and that includes raising our children. He thinks many sinful things are okay and it goes directly against God’s word, I feel stuck between a rock and a hard place. Praying for God’s grace on my life, my marriage, and my children. What “sola scriptura” has tragically done to many protestants is make “I do/don’t see it” the measure of what is actually in Scripture. Thus, it is no longer the glory and majesty of truth found in Scripture-whatever it may be-that is the true benchmark, but the individual mind and ego. If they don’t see it, they behave as if it doesn’t exist. No one has the authority to tell them otherwise-despite the fact that we see absolutely nothing like this in Scripture itself, where men often spoke with the authority of God on the true meaning of Scripture (an irony that struck me hard in my last few years as a protestant). What “sola scriptura” has unfortunately done to many protestants is make 2,000 years of testimony, spilt blood, reflection, wisdom, and teaching of the greatest saints, martyrs, and theologians fall flat and dead with 6 words: “I don’t interpret it that way.” Joshua Charles Catholic Convert

Interestingly I did the same search for ‘Contentment’ in Olive Tree and got the same results including the Greek and Hebrew words. The way Logos pulls the info together and presents it to the user is much better as Olive Tree uses pop up windows for more detailed info, the desktop version working like the mobile one. Logos relies on internet connection to use nearly all of its tools and features, OT doesn’t. So although Logos has more powerful features and resources I often use OT as I’m frequently not in a place to use the internet.

The best memory I have from church was one Friday night with the men in a banquet hall (just a room for eating) of the church where we sang and talked about the Holy Ghost. It was the most edifying of all services. We all shared our thoughts and were corrected if we were wrong.

The reason we have the unbiblical churches today is because we have continued to let cultural evolution affect the church. And that's how it all ends, when the AC sits in the Holy place and demands to be worshipped. "Oh, we can do this, it's 1999...it's 2015... 2024... When does it stop? It won't, you read the Bible, it doesn't. We need to set a boundary and learn to live without certain things so the church stays Holy. Even if those things are convenient and not sinful. We already do some of it when we avoid going to places full of half-naked women or profanity. Every evolutionary step the church has taken since year 1 has been a step towards destruction. Even when I was lost I could see it having grown up in church as they say. The only way to walk off a cliff is by walking off it. If you stay put, someone will have to carry and throw you off it.
