Love a good Longmorn, I have the 18 yr old expression. Great review once again, love the colour on it as well. Unfortunately it’s a touch on the pricy side but sounds like a great daily. You’ve reminded me to get my 18 yr out for another run. Slàinte Mhath 🥃

This was one of the first three "expensive" bottles I bought early in my malt journey years ago. At the time it was $120us. As you said it is beautiful but in a safe way so at that time I loved and appreciated it very much. Today I'm not sure if I would as much? Glad I had it back then when it was able to blow my sox off. I love this one. It is pricey at $160 USD, but I cashed in some gift cards and only paid $10 out-of-pocket. I'll consider that a bargain for myself. I believe it is discontinued, so I likely won't find another and if I do, unless I have a stack of gift cards again, I would rather spend that money on something like anCnoc 18. Cheers!

That´s a high price for it. Here in Norway where we have high alcohol taxes itˋs about 77 €

Good video, Wade, and I completely agree that the price you're being asked to pay in Oz is ridiculous. I have yet to try either the purple or the green label versions of this whisky--thought there is a bottle of the purple in my "stash" for when I feel ready for it--but I think it's important to note that the "legend" of this whisky is primarily founded upon the earlier green label version. See WhiskyMystery and/or Roy Aqvavite, or perhaps elsewhere, for more on that. Those green label bottles are long gone and so are virtually unobtainium, while the purple label is considered a lot better than the even earlier G&M 15yo brown label version. I'm not meaning to criticise you for trying the purple one, just trying to explain where the "legendary" part arises. Whisky "legends" are perhaps not worth the bother, though, particularly when they're tied up with rarity, as there are plenty of other good quality whiskies waiting for us just around the corner.

Man this is epic! Just tasted this for the first time. The first smoky whisky I’ve really enjoyed after mostly drinking non peaty whisky. This is really nicely balanced. Cheers Wade, all your videos are great.

One year in the cask, one minute in the glass. Basic knowledge to avoid ethanol burn. Copitas are best.

The Signatory Edradour 10 year UCF is my favorite. Been having it for years. Makes me wonder how much sherry they leave in the casks prior to filling with their distillate. Maybe several liters of sherry are “accidentally” left behind 😂

An absolutely perfect summary of this well reputed whisky. It has quality but it is up against so many well constructed sherried whisky's. It comes in behind things like the bottles in the Aberlour range etc.
