As soon as I saw the thumbnail I immediately said Tamdhu 15 in a blowout. Now I wait to see what you think. I think the GlenAllachie has a wider range of flavors, but I think the flavors in the Tamdhu's are better even though they are more narrow in scope. Nice matchup Wade. Cheers!
Yeah that is well explained Peter, I know what you are saying. This one has been good in the comments, seems more polarising which means I am comparing better whiskies and this challenge definitely isn't one sided!
Great review Wade! The sherried 15 that I keep going back to recently is the Old Pulteney 15. It has a beautiful orange note added to the more typical sherry profile and a coastal note on the finish that keeps me coming back to it.
While the Tamdhu is a lovely one.... My memory of the GlenAllachie outshines. I bought the 10yr CS batch 2 back in 2019 then opening 2022. It lasted from April to June only such was its grip it had on me and my friends...Ha Ha!!
Thought battle bur for me (new) GA 15 also takes it home. In my market, the Tamdhu 15 is usually 20% more expensive which makes my decision pretty easy. Great stuff as usual! Cheers! 🥃
Would choose the Tamdhu between these. The Tamdhu being the whole 15 years in sherry casks and the GlenAllachie being the mass production spirit in tired casks made to sell to blenders that Billy Walker got when he bought the place put into some nice expensive sherry casks he bought to finish the Whisky in. That dosen't mean the GlenAllachie is bad just my personal taste. Cheers Wade
Hi Wade, after your recent incredible video together with Phil I really got hooked to your videos and style of presentation. I really enjoy them a lot! Keep it up and greetings from Germany!
Can I sit on the fence? I like the nose, flavours, and challenge from the ga, but the tamdhu is just buttery smooth and easy, while still bringing a little bit of a challenge. I’d say for an enthusiast go the ga, a novice(me) the tamdhu
Have compared both of these to GlenDronach 15 in versus challenges already! ua-cam.com/video/zfwucD1_jOU/v-deo.html & ua-cam.com/video/w7mWRf16C-0/v-deo.html
Mmm so the Glenallacgie 15 is top 15 whisky on your channel? I had the Tamdhu 12 , 15 , and Distinction all are nice but still wanting a bit more fruit flavor like cherries.
@@McIntyresMalts As I said in the Macallan vs video, I feel it's a better match-up, although this one was fair. Yes, Mortlach has different flavors but it's still the same region, same barrel maturation, and same price with almost same age. It's possible the Mortlach will come out on top, whereas I don't see another contenter able to do it.
@@tommysimpsonandtheloadeddice Fair points! I have an unopened Mortlach 16, but no GA 15 left at the moment. When I eventually replace I will compare the two 😊

I prefer the Tamdu 15!! Terrific palette thoughts Wade!! Awesome video!! Cheers 🍻
I agree
Thanks for watching Christine!
@@McIntyresMalts YW!! 🙂
Great review Wade. Still haven’t tried the Tamdhu 15, I need to correct that ASAP 😅
You should Alberto! Especially if you enjoy a sherried style 🥃

Yeah agree, overall GlenAllachie is more memorable

Good choice!

Fair call my friend!
Yep they are BOTH fantastic whiskeys!!!! Agreed!!!! 🥃👍🏻
P.s I just picked up a Oban 14 =$115 second bottle 😎
SWEET VID MATE!!!!
That's a nice price man 👌👌
Nice Review Wade. Have you tried blending 2 half drams of them together? Best of both maybe? Glen-dhu! Or Tam-Allachie. Cheers.
Not yet! Imagine it would be good though!
Too bad I have already finished both of these bottles 😂

Aww thank you for the love Sascha! Appreciate you being here 🥃
This is a really good match-up, Wade. Can't disagree with your winner. FYI, here in the US, the Tamdhu can be expected to cost $20 more ...
Thanks for checking it out mate! Hope you’re well 😊
Personally for me there is a flavor note in the Tamdhu that I don't care for. Where the Glenallachie 15 is a home run for my Palate.
Yeah I can understand that
Tough review. Wow. That is so close and like I think you said, I would go home with either! Cheers!
Can’t lose with this one 😉
Glenallachie for me but I prefer Cask-Strength 😊🇳🇱
Lovely stuff!
Great video mate! I need to try this Tamdhu, even though I know it will be too sweet for me, I'm still curious about it. Cheers!
Thanks brother! The GA 15 is way sweeter than the Tamdhu, so you may like it more
I’m actually gunna put this on the watch list for later so I can do a little try myself!! I have my suspicions but let’s see where we both land

Best way to do it!
You absolutely can! They both have good qualities, but I have to pick one or the video wouldn't be well received 😂
Maybe next time add Glendronach 15 to the line-up :-)
Have compared both of these to GlenDronach 15 in versus challenges already!

I have a video coming soon that’s a massive 15-year-old Sherry showdown blind which will reveal the best of them all!
Excited about this matchup but I've decided that every time you do a GlenAllachie 15 matchup, I am gonna pour a dram of Mortlach 16.
Interesting, what made you choose the Mortlach 16?

Uma pena que aqui no Brasil é difícil achar tamdhu 15 anos, uma pena 😢
Acho que foi uma edição limitada, também não é fácil de encontrar na Austrália!
Tamdhu 15 for me, it juuuuuuust pips the GA15.
It's about as close a versus challenge as I have done!
Wade , put it up against the tamdhu 12 , i still think the 12 is better
Put which one up against the Tamdhu 12?
@@McIntyresMalts the glenallachie 15, I know it's a 15 vs 15 but I'd be interesting to see if you opinion changed if you used there tamdhu 12
@@jgarner447 Would be interesting, as I do actually prefer the Tamdhu 12 over the 15!
