Good that it’s gained momentum again, had I not just dropped the vid I did when you originally challenged me I would have responded ages ago. Keen for the next ones to come!
The only Speyburn I had was the duty free Speyburn 10 at 46%abv and I did not enjoy that at all but I'm visiting the distillery in September so let's see if they can make me a fan. Solid pick with the Highlands, definitely agree with the Lowlands as it was my pick as well :) , bang on with the Campbeltown, Islands and Islay. Solid list brother, would be happy with all of these! Looking forward to Jon and Alan's picks.
Great, top shelf picks, Wade. I really need to post my video on this topic ... (I understood the challenge to be a little bit closer to your first video on this topic, seeking representative bottles, so my choices in that upcoming video will not be able to compete with these ...).
Thanks Tim. I definitely think it's open to a little bit of interpretation and given my original video I needed a little deviation from that concept so I wasn't just repeating myself. Looking forward to seeing what your choices are to my friend!
Great list, Wade! The Ledaig 18 just became available in my area. I’m really looking forward to opening it. I keep hearing about the Speyburn 18. I may need to pick it up 🤔 Cheers!
That thumbnail for the video is Gwhisky level!! Love it! Great picks. Hard to argue with any if them. Speyburn 18 is wonderful, but I'd probably go with Craigellachie 17. It's just a little more unique. Cheers Wade!
It was you wearing a kilt, squatting with Phil's head on the left, Jeff whisky's head on the right, your bottle picks fanned out behind, and a tri-orange background. Hilarious and awesome! I'm not supposed to judge a book by its cover, but man, I sure do love me a good cover😂. Cheers Wade!
I like your go for broke approach ! My no price considered picks are. Speyside Craigalliche 23, Highlands anCnoc 18, Lowlands Bladnoch 11 (only because the 10 is no longer available) Campbeltown Longrow 18, Islands Arran 18, Islay Bruichladdich 18 Cheers Wade
Haha my video releases tomorrow and we have both chosen to challenge Jon 😂 oh well, at least we have different picks! Love your Glendronach 18 pick, I had a sample of that recently and was blown away, cheers!
Not many single malts under $100 in my country, and if you include the unofficial region of the islands that’s six (decent*) single malts for $500 which isn’t possible in Australia… but let me have a crack at at- Speyside - Glen Moray Classic NAS $65 Highlands - Glenmorangie X NAS $69 Islay - Bowmore 9 $80 Lowlands - Auchentoshan 12 $93 Campbeltown - Kilkerran 12 $150 Islands - Talisker 10 $90 $547 was the best I could do with $500 budget, BUT… Me personally I wouldn’t actually recommend buying most of these. Good question and a fun exercise! I would just buy two or three really good whiskeys if I only had $500 to spend rather than one from each region.
Great to see how far this challenge has gone since I started back in 2023! Solid picks Wade and you got great taste with your island pick ;). Cheers!

Great picks Wade!

Thanks Sheldon, if you palate is anything like mine you should enjoy them a lot!

Thank you my friend! Which thumbnail did you see? Running new UA-cam A/B testing and there are 3 variants.

@@GeoffreyBangers Haha yeah that was my favourite of the ones I made. Bit of a laugh!

Thank you brother! Yes the Blanch 10 is good, I liked it
I highly recommend the Kilchoman PX cask matured. Cherry bomb.
Got a bottle, looking forward to opening it!
Solid list
Thank you my friend 🥃
What would be your picks?
How about another list for whiskies that are easily found. 🙂
Already did that, it was the one I mentioned at the start of the video 😊
Have a look - ua-cam.com/video/UlB89Sp6jOE/v-deo.html
What about limited budget with 500$ for all regions ? What would you pick ?
Not many single malts under $100 in my country, and if you include the unofficial region of the islands that’s six (decent*) single malts for $500 which isn’t possible in Australia…
but let me have a crack at at-
Speyside - Glen Moray Classic NAS $65
Highlands - Glenmorangie X NAS $69
Islay - Bowmore 9 $80
Lowlands - Auchentoshan 12 $93
Campbeltown - Kilkerran 12 $150
Islands - Talisker 10 $90
$547 was the best I could do with $500 budget, BUT…
Me personally I wouldn’t actually recommend buying most of these.
Good question and a fun exercise!
I would just buy two or three really good whiskeys if I only had $500 to spend rather than one from each region.
Here’s a challenge: choose affordable bottles!
