What's the REAL Reason Pyro is too Hard?
Literal years in the making, we finally have Pyro. How long did it take before people started complaining? Let it cook for a weed before we change anything please?

Master Modes, Squadron 42, and how it all ties together
Heck of a video, from content to production! Though the neck beard had me worried for a minute 😉 😂 Definitely got a new sub!
You gained a sub from me for being honest
It’s a lawless place if you are to scared stay in staton and the fact that yall think a reputation system would stop players from attacking you is a joke people have multiple accounts one for being good and another for being bad you can’t stop this just deal with it
Not stop, but mitigate. A sizeable reduction in ganking would still be a success for the rep system. It wouldn't be enough to satisfy everyone.
@ yea griefing iam against totally but piracy reputation want stop this
So strange that as of 4.0 over half of the game will be based in a lawless system with no proper Bounty Hunting mechanic or clan retribution. I don’t think anyone is adverse to a bit of risk or PVP but saying stay away from the murder hobos is a bit like saying thanks for your help backing my game, now kindly piss off as your views are not as important as mine and your shared experiences are totally irrelevant to me.
That's certainly not the intention. But I also think you argument is a bit hyperbolic. The projected future of the game will see significant additions across both types of player. In reality, this PVPVE game has been living a pvPVE lifestyle and it's finally adding content for a large portion that has been ignored. Many people on the periphery looking in have been waiting for just something like this before jumping in.
Get some friends to help me in my mission? Nahh dont got any of those.. Hire some escorts for a modest fee? Hell No I shouldn't have to do that! Join the local trading consortium to Have strength in numbers? WHAT?! Why should i have to deal with other humans in all this Empty space!! Its Obvious CIG should just split the player base in half spend double the cost and Also Change Human Fucking Nature so the carebears can solo their Reclaimers and Orions and Bengals and make 27 trillion credits in the three hours they play on the weekend between Their sons baseball practice and their wifes book club.
I dont understand the problem. If you dont want lawless behavior do go to the lawless system that was advertised as being lawless. Just like you dont go into a vegan resturant and complain about the meat being fake
I think the idea is to also get military parts from rep based missions in the future as well. I am not sure if rep will effect whether you can safely land at a outpost in pyro. But I hope so 🤞
People complaining about them locking military components behind pvp content aren't considering there will still be a market for those parts. You'll just be buying them from players instead of at cousin crows.
For a decade we've had a lawful system with a tiny little rock around yela for all the lawless players. Now we're finally getting a lawless system and people are losing their marbles. Honestly just feels like a bunch of space dads and roleplayers who wanted to take a happy little peaceful tour of pyro even though the place is themed like madmax. Just stay in stanton and wait for the next lawful system to come out.
I'll sub to make up for the loss of the Lemon Tart that quit. 😁 I think your take is solid, and that of an experienced perspective person. I like PVP and PVE. I will NEVER say "Less action packed please" 😆 Great vid man!
I think the biggest mistake is releasing pyro first without the systems to support it… maybe nyx or something for everyone.. now a lot of pve players going to not play.. kinda sucks..but cig what’s to implement shit that’s not ready as always because they suck
Nope sorry. Pyro is just another half-baked CIG tier-0 implementation of supposed content; here's some new stuff just like the old stuff that isn't all there, doesn't quite work right, and or isn't particularly fun or engaging, because it's missing a laundry list of basic dependencies (like maybe a functional flight model lulz). In short Pyro is just Stanton minus comm-arrays and crime stats, basically less than the almost zero consequences bad guys supposedly have as it is, and the so-called "controlling" AI/NPC gangs can't and won't be doing anything to prevent "lawless" from being anything other than stupid senseless "free-for-all" (nor will that change anytime soon). And make no mistake, the baddies aren't going just sit in Pyro if the haulers, miners, & salvagers etc stick to Stanton to avoid them.... Despite their trash talk these git gud assclowns don't actually want any challenge or adversity, they just want punching bag players to screw with (i.e any solo not armed to the teeth/doing anything but looking for a fight), and they'll be right back in Stanton regardless.
The real feature is Server Meshing and that seems to be working rather well. Everything else depends on that and in theory is much easier to fix.
The problem is that CIG made Pyro way too nice. The original vision was for a graveyard system made up of burned out husks of planets, with just a handful of space stations filled with desperate individuals used to constant death. Instead we got a system that's actually more suitable for human life than Stanton and even exports fruits and vegetables. No wonder people expect peaceful game loops to be viable.
They realized it might not be best for player retention or their image if the very first star system they release after 12 years ends up being a desolate and barren wasteland. I think it's enough that the system will be lawless.
@@GrimGatsby I don't know, it's quite possible to make an interesting desolate wasteland. The Fallout games are all about that.
They should have made another high security system that caters to all instead of pyro 1st, so that the economy can be developed and grow, and they still have to figure out a lot of gameplay loops. Pyro doesn't assist them in developing a actual game.
We will be getting future systems that are higher security. However, I want you to think about the things that Pyro does allow for testing. With a PVP hotbed and minimal consequences, Pyro has the potential to provide a lot more data about ship interactions and balance as players carve out different metas. While still being a lawless system, they can test all kinds of detection methods for things that do not qualify as legitimate PVP (ie pad ramming). If they can detect it, they can choose to punish it in high-sec systems. The diegetic security systems that the game is supposed to have, such as turret defense, NPC enforcement, and other such methods can be tuned and studied in ways that a high-sec system doesn't allow.
The only real PVP was in the contested zones.
Player Versus Player is not restricted to sanctioned arena-style gameplay.
The only thing I agree with them removing is hiding military components behind PvP. That's stupid and should never even be a consideration. Everything else... Yep. Leave it as is. Anyone who has ever played an mmo, especially a survival mmo knows full well how this is going to pan out. Pyro will attract a type of player. Pyro will keep that players interest until things become too hard...As in, most m*rder hobos like for their prey to run... Not fight back. When the fighting back becomes too much, and players kill the same type of other players repeatedly, people will undoubtedly get bored, pack up, and head BACK to Stanton. It might take awhile, but once the fat becomes thin, they'll all pack back up and come back to Stanton.
so periodically do a PVP event in Pyro, add seasonal type content, and other such mechanisms as exist in other games.
Hiding military and stealth components behind pvp-centric content is a pretty solid decision. First of all it creates meaningful rewards for doing that content that can be regularly farmed. On top of that it's going to create a healthy player generated economy through the surge of players and orgs selling those parts to everyone else. There are now multiple reasons to engage in pvp beyond piracy/bounty hunting/murder hoboing. And that is; competition for profit. Something which we only ever see at jumptown, an occasional global event that can't be reliably farmed like these contested zones can be. This choice is going to add a lot more depth to the game and be a healthier choice over all. It will only be a pain point to us who have been around long enough to be spoiled by having access to all the best parts, gear, and weapons with no restrictions. There will come a day when we will only have access to the lowest grade civilian parts and will need to either complete specific missions or earn rep with specific factions to gain access to those higher grade parts. As it should be. This is the way.
@@OddJobEntertainment You're not understanding the game loop for murder hobos. Their game content is people who don't want PvP and their game loop is making people upset. That's it. So adding a pumpkin mask event and giving away guns with Happy New Year printed on them isn't going to change anything. Just like OP said: the hobos will hang out in Pyro until the real PvP starts, then they'll head back to Stanton to grief Space Dads because that's WHY they play the game in the first place.
I agree lmao I am not a pvp player but I don't mind dishing out the hammer of justice..so leave it as lawless..
Gained a Subscriber to equal out the loss. 😂
We really need a way to see people's criminal history. If there's someone at a landing zone i want to know if they've been historically trustworthy or not so i can decide whether to be chill or have my guard up. I'm totally fine not having laws in pyro, but i want to be able to make an educated decision on whether to engage in PVP or not.
sshh... upcoming video
completely agree
Wait wait wait...people think Stanton is a SAFE system?! Ahahahhahaa that's hilarious.
Relatively safe
If/when they implement NPC police response to crime stats I think it will be. That way it’s not just bounty hunters chasing criminals.
Got in. The stations have done crazy maze designs going on... Otherwise, saving bigger stuff for live.
The gangs really should hire an architect or a city planner
@@OddJobEntertainmentthey did hire one. The instructions were “make the place a tomb-raider style maze”.
It's very weird to me how Pyro is supposed to be some High Reward system when it's a dying, strip mined system with depleted ressources according to lore...
Contested zones
It is however, filled with tasty salvage and abandoned facilities from said strip mining operations, and the giga projects being undertook by Pyrotechnic Amalgamanted before they went under at least in lore.
@@kyoko4651tasty salvage, more like bait to lure in salvagers to be low-risk content for PvPers to farm.
@@4tonmike Reclaimer is honestly quite the combat ship- assuming you crew it (which in Pyro you probably should), if your flying in a vulture maybe consider asking your freind to fly an escort for you.
PVP is fun. Getting marooned by some ass hat flying by shooting at parked ships isn't PVP. Loading 31 buckets of shit, carrying it to craptown, loading the elevator and getting shot in the back before you send it down, isn't PVP. The Contested zones are PVP. Those are pretty fun. Nobody will be able to accomplish a fucking thing in that system because too many hobos aren't trying to accomplish shit.
As much as I understand where you are coming from, I think somewhere down the line you lost the concept of what PvP actually is. By definition, player vs player simply refers to any content or space in a game where players can engage each other in competition or combat. There doesn't have to be any more substantial reason other than it being mechanically possible and permitted. What circumstances led to that engagement are irrelevant by all other standards of what pvp encompasses. It is stated by the devs and acknowledged by the community that the moment you leave an armastice zone, you have entered a pvp environment. After that, what you were doing or how much you were peacefully minding your business while doing it does not diminish the fact that when your parked ship was blown up or you were shot in the back at a junk yard, it counts as pvp.
super based
Make Pyro a dangerous place, yes. but dont put the best stuff only in Pyro. Dont make SC a 2 class Society. The PVP pros and the not PvP Players. PvP Payers will be better in PvP anyway. Dont give exclusive them the best gear so they get even better.
This is a cool thing about MMO's that I hope SC adopts, and by how they speak of crafting they want to. You dont have to do everything. Dont want to risk it all in pyro? Go do your preffered gameplay and use the money you get from it to buy stuff from the people who risk it all in Pyro. Like those new executive hanger ships, with player to player trading you could buy the F7A Mk2 Executive Hanger edition from a player who found it in pyro without ever stepping foot in pyro.
As is the theme with SC, there's a concept of a plan to fix it. But it requires more time.
@@OddJobEntertainment IS just 12 years... sure more time xD
@saintgordon338 I see people pushing for a 2 class society on both sides of the argument. Even in this video, people are saying that there should be no PVP outside of Star Marine. Like all the PvPers should be relegated to a whole other mode that doesn't mean anything since there's no progression on Star Marine. There's others saying PvP'ers are scum or "subhuman". Like, give me a break. I'm a PvP player but I only attack criminals or griefers. Or people who initiated combat against me. Am I scum for not combat logging and throwing out slurs? It's exhausting this all or nothing approach both sides are taking. Narcissistic behavior for sure.
@@fwdcnorac8574 yes, to call them names ist helping. I play PvP but mostly i just want to chill. if SC would be PvE only it would be boring very fast.It has to be a PvPvE Hybrid. but you cant lock the best equipment to areas where only PvP players can hold there ground. PvP isnt the problem, ganking is. senseless killing just for the sake of killing. Dont tell me its fun to kill someone who cant even defend itselfe. If you haveing fun by this. you have an issue in your life. Its har and i dont know how to balance this. a lot of games died on this hill...
!remind me in 2 weeks
Hopefully this ages well.
Every location I have gone to I found players camping. I never died to them but they were there . Anytime I and my team got shot as was we tried to find their hiding location and then we could not we hopped in the ship and destroyed all ships in the area . They normally just got mad that in chat or came out of hiding shooting at my large ship with their tiny gun .
FPS scanning can't come soon enough. I hate camping.
@ fps scanning can also hurt fps . How will it deal with snipers . They will also have gear that is resistant to scanning helping campers . Unfortunately they are here to stay
Pyro, i am sure, would be great IFD the devs knew what they were doing and the game wasn't a fking tech demo FK UP!! ships are fked, trade is fked up, economy is fked up, anything that was fun is fked up, simply flying your big fancy space ship IS FKED UP!!! SC is in a state that THEY, CIG, WANT IT TO BE. they want people to stop playing so they can stop work on it and say see, no one wants to play so we took all the money and left... and then some say it is GREAT, nothing wrong, IT'S IN APLHA (oh FK OFF - heard that for too many years) i have thrown money in HOPING and EXPECTING something good ------ EVENTUALLY!! it has not happened. BUT the store works great - STOP GIVING THEM MONEY!
IRL danger pops up as a challenge once. If you kill the challenge, it doesn't respawn and present itself as a challenge again over and over. Pyro will be a PVP only system where the PVP players will get bored of themselves and want to come to Stanton. LOL The only REAL balance on evil is the fact that evil destroyed is no more. There is no way to balance a realm of regenerative vampires. No one that fears this will go to Pyro and so the murder boys will tire of jerkin each other and seek new genitals to play with. I see this as a challenge to try to slide in under their radar and handle my business. Hopefully this can work. However, due to the stupid nature of spermsuit wearing respawn boys, I will have to shoot first and ask questions after I'm back in Stanton. I also expect many nerfs top come in Pyro. As servers in stanton crash because no one wants to go there. Remember they tried no armistice at the stations. Had to nerf that because extra chromosome boys had to hurrrrdurrrr laugh and shoot people as they left their habs. Same will happen in many areas of Pyro soon enough.
Pyro will get better with bounty hunting. CIG needs to make pay outs huge to counter piracy and make them constantly nervous
Consequences too, when everything not pirate shoots at you and refuses to let you land/dock, everything will get better.
Agree
@@OddJobEntertainment interesting thing is with bounty hunting other pirates might be able to exploit the bounties and turn on each other. LOL. Keeps them busy for a while
I explored Pyro for 2-3 hours yesterday. I realized I couldn't pull my guns out at the gun shop in a station. I went sightseeing and shot a grazer. Visited a settlement on Pyro 4. Did a couple cargo missions. Almost got attacked but made it out unscathed. Good times. Will do again. People need to relax and stop "REEEEEEE'ing".
Some of the derelict outposts have a shit ton of heavily armed npcs. That's also fun gameplay
i had a different experience, my first landing in my cutty on Bloom got me headshot istantly as leaving the ship (guess it was by a player, no clue though), not mad about it though even congratulated to the nice shot... it´s pyro i hope they keep it lawless... but i wish there was some kind of killfeed or at least an indicator where i got murdered from and who killed me
That would certainly help with the learning curve. I'm sure something could be done. Probably not a killfeed per se, but something.
The biggest murder hobo in Pyro right now is is falling thru the planet bug.
Very true.
I think your take is pretty good
A game that's built around PVPVE with no stick is nothing but inviting murder-hobos. While reputation and the like are just "a patch away" the question floats around at least to me What is the point of PVP? If we look at a direct comparison to Escape from Tarkov (PvPvE) the PVP side of things is to create contested spaces to complete tasks. Meaning that the player has to race against other players to complete a task; that is either through elimination or stealth. Even upon elimination the player is able to loot his target (get his gear and extract), complete the task first, and extract without issue. The player will still have to fight AI generated scavs to get out but this is the nature of PvPvE. The stick is not completing the task and losing gear...the carrot is completing the task and coming out with lots of new gear for the next raid. The problem is for a solo or even a group...there's no meat on the bone in PVP other then bragging rights. You cannot salvage the ship for RMC as only specific ships can do that, you cannot strip the enemy player and their ship for parts as your ship may lack cargo to do so. Again...there is little to no reason to PVP other then forcing emergent gameplay via sticking a task/quest item in a known hot zone (aka Seal Traps). Then even if you bring those two specific ships...the loot split is going to be quite poor. So to me PVP in this game is already has critical structural issues. The community team and dev team is going to effectively rely on creating seal traps to bait PvE players into PVP zones so the PVP players have content...and whose the content...the PVE players. Every MMO that has done seal traps creating seal clubbing experiences for PvE players just withers and dies. So this team needs to make PVP rewarding to the point that there's no cost of on the PvE side of the equation.
Bad take. Played last night. Nobody jumped me. One group tried. I landed at one of the settlements to explore. The first building I walked in had a bunch of dead npcs on the floor. Then I heard muffled gunfire outside.I couldn't tell how many but three ships were parked outside. All I had was a pistol. It's time for stealth. I heard them moving towards my building. I quietly worked my way to the roof of my building as they came in from the front door. When I got to the roof I could see a clear shot to my ship. So as they looked for me inside I jumped off the roof, got in my ship and was gone. I'll return later today. That kind of gameplay is fun. Emergent. And I can strip a ship of its guns, components and missles with the free atls they gave me, or a two handed tractor beam. There is plenty of carrot for pvp. As long as you have the storage space.
Well said.
@fwdcnorac8574 I also have stories that don't matter to the fundamental structural game imbalances that are currently built-in or planned for the game.
PVP could use some incentives, i have a script cooking already on just that topic. Stay tuned.
@@fwdcnorac8574 DId you get their loot? No Did you make money? No So your point is you just escaped a bad situation with little to no reward other then you saved time. My point still stands and you just half admitted that it stands. The average PVP solo player is going to not run a ship with a cargo hold. They are going in a fighter with a High DPS output. Maybe your argument would have merit but CIG is mitigating players using multi-crew ships as solo ships by adjusting them properly. Its probably why so many solos got pissed off when the Corsair (a multicrew ship) got adjusted properly to sit firmly in its expected space. Again your take is awful, you made no money and got out with the gear you went in.
I think it's fine for what it is, a new lawless system like you said. It's missing a few things like the player reputation, NPC gang patrols (similar to UEE security i guess), bounty hunter guild (coming in 1.0, will probably have a presence in pyro), Someone on reddit mentioned having commlink satellites floating around planets, similar to stanton but instead they've been recommissioned to the local gangs in power, so people can flick them on, then are able to gain rep and get assistance from their affiliated gang while it's active. Not sure if it'd work but it'd sounded interesting. Pyro is just a new test bed for CIG, no doubt they'll be keeping a close eye on how the players interact and if people can cooperate or it just descends into further chaos. It'll give them a few good ideas of how their reputation system should be implemented I'm sure.
I agree that the current reputation system is pretty barebones. Looking forward to what the devs come up with.
Lost a subscriver here unfortunately. Also pve servers won't lead to stagnation, but a healthy game with healthy community.
Thanks for watching regardless. I'd still invite you to consider the MANY problems a PVE server introduces to an already complicated game: economy balance, players that struggle to play together, item inventories, content splits, broken gameplay dependencies, etc.
Why does your side of the camp take such drastic measures like this? This "you're dead to me" approach if we don't 100% support you? Same thing in Spectrum. Lot of hatred and anger from your side of the argument. Peace.
Start with your behavior if you want a healthy community. Try talking it through.
@@fwdcnorac8574 No hatred, I`m absolutely calm. I do not share a persons beliefs on a basic level so there is no point in me sticking around, that`s all.
@@OddJobEntertainment PVE servers work just fine with all the successful mmos, they will work with SC as well. The role of pvp players in influencing the economy can be taken by npc pirates that can be actually balanced, scaled apropriately and do not grief, scream at you or spam slurs in chat.
can this be done on stock MT chair mounts? or only on your custom setup?
The guards are compatible with every Gladiator and any aftermarket part that uses the same mounting position, which will be just about anything marketed for the Gladiator. Everything else just needs some 8020 aluminum extrusion. So, it should be widely compatible.
How did you manage to lean the entire chair backward? I'm trying to to get more knee support but no success.
At the moment, it is due to a mounting block for an unsuccessful footrest iteration. I measured it so that when wedged beneath, it would give 5 degrees of tilt. You'll want to stick around for my next video on the subject. You'll benefit in particular if you're looking for more knee support.
Sounds awesome c: Thank you and I look forward to it, I'm really struggling with wanting to find a way to mount my pedals high like what's available in the monstertech sim pit, (I'm currently with the MFC chair and it's isn't compatible with the frame thing), having the chair tilted back would feel more comfortable with high pedals, if I can figure that out too in the future.
Okay this is super cool. You have great ideas to fix your chair! Very creative
Glad you found it helpful!
I think Bambu should employ you.😊 You have a lot of good thoughts - I hope Bambu takes up most of the ideas you came out with.
Well, if BL happens to be watching, I am looking for a job.
Oh, censorship here. Now I what's happening.
I'm not sure what you're referring to.
Very nice!
Glad you enjoyed it.
I love Bambu Lab. My A1 mini and X1C are amazing. I hope they try to give the same experience with a series of resin printers.
That turkey looked delicious at the end! Glad you got to see all your hard work pay off with no one hurt! (Except the turkey😬)
I think i have found a way for myself to get the best of both worlds. I will probably build a mashup of The V0 mod "duelling zero", and the Voron Trident. so basically a Trident with two X Beams on the same Y axis rails, driven completely independently. On top of that one of the toolheads will have some sort of MMS, and the other one will have A TPU capable Extruder. With separate Gantries i will need two probes (probably beacon), and a mainboard with a LOT of stepper drivers, but for the capabilities i am willing to put in money and effort.
