well done mate solid that👍
Catching up on some Stu!!! Well done mate!! Coombe looked great.
Well done Stu for getting it done, speed kills🤣🤣
Alright, sod it, I'm doing XC next year! Glad the calf behaved mate.
wooohoooo
Good work Stu!
The true mentality of a runner 'I have stabbing pain in this one spot but I hope running will cure it!' Well done in the race, Stu. That's was a big field for a cross country race.
Hope the calf is on the mend. Awesome camera work from Franny 🙌
Bit sore now but hopefully not done to much damage. I couldn't feel it while I was running so that's a positive. Lots of use with the massage gun to get rid of it 👌
Well done Stu for getting the race done! Glad it all went well in the end. Good filming Franny!
Franny smashed it with the filming. Really appreciated her doing that for us. I only ran because I knew there was those cakes waiting for us at the end 🤣🤣🤣
Cross country is not for the faint hearted! Nice work and nice video 👍
Yeh it's a stupid sport. Running is hard enough without adding lots of mud and slippy hills 🤣🤣 It takes a special kind of stupid 🙈
Nicely done, Stu 👍 Out of all your niggles and injuries over the years, what percentage do you think were running related and which were cycling related? I reckon it's got to be around 80/20 😅
It's 100/0. I've never got a cycling injury. In all the years I've been doing it there's not been a time when I've not been able to cycle. It's always the running that does me in, the older I get the worse it gets 🤣🤣
Whenever I pick up a new muscle twinge it feels like it's always just after a speed run, im going to blame getting older 😂
Yeh completely agree. Getting older doesn't help 🙈 But speed sessions are very much needed. I felt great when I did it. Just takes me longer to recover and just gotta keep doing them 💪
I'm determined to give xc a go at some point, if for no other reason than just to say I did it. Spikes worry me a bit though. I know what my feet are like and I really dont fancy injuring myself by trying it.
I have weak calves and feet and never have issues in spikes. Usually the ground is so soft you don't really notice them. I love cross country for making me realise how much I like running on tarmac 🤣🤣
Nice work bud
Thank you. Appreciate it. All going in the right direction so that's pretty pleasing 💪
Glad your calf held. Speed work is needed but can be risky for pulls and niggles unexpectedly. Can’t be bothered to race XC now - too old ♿️
To old 🙈 You run twice as fast as me. You would smash it. I'm pleased with how it went. Just need to get some more speed work in. But I get so comfortable in zone 2 🤣🤣
Well done that’s great pacing for cc tried it once and in no rush to do it again 😂
Yeh cross country is a love/hate thing for me. 🤣🤣 Pleased with that run considering I wasn't going to run, finished with more left in the tank so finished feeling good 💪
Great vid, well done getting shoes on and out the door!
Cheers. It's just tough getting out the door some days. But we keep turning up 👌
Used to love doing this back in the day (2011 and 2012 I think) when I was fit and with my old running/tri club from Northampton. Well done.
It's such a good event. Always nice to race with your mates. Rather than on your own. Looking forward ti this year's event 👌
Park Runs are such a great thing for the masses, a great turnout at yours, incredible numbers. Well done for getting it done. I need to do one soon to see where Im at. Seem to be constantly on zwift at the moment.
Yeh I feel that. I can't wait for the better weather to get of zwift and get outdoors consistenly but I feel that's still a long way of 🙈
Good running! Did this at Worcester and I don't think my amount of overtakes was as good as yours 😂😂
Got to be honest the parkrun looked like hell but good to see you using it in the longer run . You need to work a bit harder though:-)
Nothing wrong with a parkrun 👌 Already feel like I'm working hard 🤔🙈 Was good to get another long run ticked off 👍
@SwimBikeRunStu mate I can't talk 2kms into a hard parkrun you were chatting holding a camera :-)
well done mate solid efforts,i know what ya mean about daylight and trying to vlog anything but a long Sunday run lol 😀I do other training too I just don't vlog everything I do either
Yeh it's so hard to vlog and think of ideas. I end up just waffling on, on my long run 🤣🤣 Hopefully the better weather soon will help us both with the content creation 👌
Good work Stu... Is it just one lap at Coventry? I can't believe they get nearly 1000 people turn out for it ... Quite remarkable really 😊👏🏻👏🏻 I'd probably give it a miss in favour of a less congested one 😂👍🏻
It's a 2 lap course. Yeh it's pretty busy on the first loop but then thins out on the 2nd. It's that big that you miss most of your pals 🙈 I do like a smaller one also 👍
Absolutely spot on about Jase 👏👍👟
Yep the man is an absolute legend. One of the people that helped me out on my own running journey at masseys. Just an all round top guy 👌
Great running Stu ,my guess was shocking 😂 Good to see you at Parkrun 👍👟
To be fair my guess was well out and I did it 🤣🤣 big turnout so plenty of people to go past.
Birthday parkrun, big turnout - 142. Hoping your counting doesn't fail me.
It was a great turnout. One of the largest I've been to at Coventry. Great to see so many people out and being active on a Saturday morning. It's such a good way to get people into being active 👌
@@SwimBikeRunStu Turns out Cov parkrun is bigger than I thought 🤣 Great parkrun sandwich run 👍 (We had 67 at my local parkrun yesterday!)
Well done Jenna, I said to Stu in the last video that I hadn’t heard of the SS triathlon, that’s a great way to get people into the sport. Good advice from Stu to newbies on swimming technique too✅😊
Yep everyone should give triathlon a go. There shouldn't be barriers like having to front crawl. Jenna smashed this and is working hard towards her next triathlon 👌
Long slow runs are my jam, who cares what anyone else thinks 😂
The long slow run is definitely not my jam. Give me a short, fast session any day. But I understand the benefits of these sessions. I just don't like doing them. Alot like doing strength and conditioning 🙈🤣
Well done mate..nice solid run there. Ive looked at possibly running to parkrun and doing something similar myself but i think it might be a bit far. Maybe i just meed to not be so soft! Your traijings looking strong at the minute. Looking forward to seeing it pay off in Leeds 👌
I often use parkrun on long runs. I've done 20 mile runs and used it as an end point. It's a motivator to get out the door and gives you a fake finish line if you finish at parkrun and get a lift back 👌
When you were overtaking everyone on the grass and there was a train of people behind you I thought you were on for the win 😂
I was only about 14 minutes behind the win 🤣🤣
Nice run there mate you looked very relaxed
Yeh nice and chilled. Starting to feel better with my running. It's slowly coming 🐌
I guess 42 😊
Close 🤔🙈
Good running, Stu!
Cheers fella. We keep ticking the sessions off 💪 Starting to not dread the long run as much.
@ everything is a little bit easier when you don’t dread the long runs. Just gotta take it 1 session at a time. You got bags of time on your side too before Leeds
26
😐 got that wrong🤓. I thought you’d be starting way after the start but you joined exactly at the right time. Good to have a distraction within the long run - so I hear🙃. I don’t do long runs😳
@sagsdothedu yeh I was pretty impressed with my timing of getting there. The briefing must have been a long was as I was about 4 minutes past 9. I surprised mysel.
I totally get where you're coming from, my friend. I often have the same thoughts about my own channel. But I really think people enjoy keeping things straightforward, and just being genuine on camera is what resonates with them. That's my approach. For me, it's all about having fun in the end. I don't want it to overshadow my responsibilities like work and family. I'm busy, but I cherish my hobby of running. Making and sharing videos about it is just a way for me to document my journey. Best of luck with your training! Wishing you all the best!
Thanks dude. I just need to plan a bit better rather than just winging it all the time 🤣🤣 I just enjoy the process. The minute I stop having fun with it will be when I stop doing it. Keep up the good work 👊
Yes...the trainer sucks. But you're doin it! Go Hawks!
Someone has got to rep the hawks in the UK. Thanks for taking the time to watch. 👊 Appreciate you 👌
I almost always run alone and enjoy it even more since I discovered I enjoyed listening to audiobooks rather than music, concentrating on the plot made me notice the pain less! 😂
🤣🤣 Love that. Weirdly I can't listen to anything. I just loose concentration for some reason. 🤔 I sort of enjoy just switching my brain of and just think of the next step and listening to my breathing 👌
@ if I did that, just listened to my breathing, I think I’d run straight to the local a&e just in case 😂
Ha ha!!! Miserable git.
Good training, hopefully next time you don't drop your gel 😂😂
I usually wouldn't take a gel for a 10 miler so I'm not sure why I took one in the first place 🙈 But then annoyed when I realised I'd dropped it 🤣🤣
Good effort, Stu! Do most of my runs alone bar Wednesday training nights. I'd be nervous about holding people up on a group long run. I get enough anxiety as it is without that social nonsense!
Yeh I feel you about the anxiety 👊 It's not a nice feeling but when you get a good group of lads like this it helps alot. They couldn't care what pace I did or how much I walked. So it's encouraging 👌
@ can’t over emphasise the value of that! I’ve always felt like a misfit so can’t love that enough when you feel accepted
Captain sociable! I'm so impressed. Now I want a running friend. Good stuff 👍🏃♂️🏃♂️🏃♂️
I know, check me out. I'm still not sure they are my friends though 🤣🤣 A long run was much better with other people and the time flew by. I'm definitely a fan now. 👌
Dress for your 2nd mile…love that!
Always a top tip. Il always freeze at first but by mile 2 I'm always good. The urge to wear a jacket when it's cold but then I sweat and over heat 🙈
Like you, Stu - I do most of my traininh alone. I do a long run with the club on Sunday if I've nothing in the calendar race wise. Always good to socialise a bit.
I like the socialise a bit 🤣🤣 But not to much 🤣🤣
Alternative video description: "UA-cam influencer pretends to be a regular person whilst telling us how expensive his castle is to look after". Next video sponsored by Raid Shadow Legends 🤣🤣🤣 Haha just kidding mate. Looked like a good run out. Your mate really is a nutter going in at the deepend, but he looked like he was still be doing his warm up despite running the whole way with no gels. Good effort mate.
🤣🤣 I dont think I have ever influenced anyone 🤣🤣 Yeh he's a great lad, he will smash it. Being alot younger than me he just has endurance and recovers quick. Takes me ages to recover being older 🤣🤣
Well Done great work. I mix it up I train with our club, with Mrs C and on my own. Whatever works best for you. Until the next one👍
Yeh I think that's the best way. Mixing it up. It definitely helped my motivation doing a long run with others. It always drags on my own but this flew by. I think il jump on there Manchester marathon training runs to keep me going 💪
Free coffee ☕️, nice work best of luck with your training bud
Yeh it's good to have someone else training for Leeds. Plus his mate is doing it as well so 3 of us to train and motivate each other. Looking forward to it 💪
Great vid Unsociable Stu 😂
Thank you. The video was about 20 odd minutes long but had to cut it down due to all the fruity language and conversations 🤣🤣
Another 'free' coffee 😂 Good mileage and that heart rate looked nice and low to me - nice solid run 👍
Yeh I'm doing alright with the free coffees, 🤣🤣 Gunna cost me an absolute fortune when I need to repay them all 🙈🤣
hahaha I LOVE that, might as well get in at the deep end! I was once at the day licence desk at IMUK and there were quite a few people saying it was their first triathlon, really cool!
Fair play to this lad, he had never run a marathon and then he did escape from Meriden and ran 62 miles 🙈. An absolute machine. He can learn from me, everything not to do 🤣
I do most of my running on my own, thinking of joining a running club to be a bit more sociable. …And a top tip indeed! I’ve made that mistake before 🥵 Well done on the run!
I do think running with a club will always make you a better. Always work harder with other people. Get in that club you will love it 💪 But I do still love running on my own 🤣🤣
You can’t be unsociable on UA-cam with 1k+ subs 😂
I'm definitely unsociable. Talking to a camera on my own helps prove my point 🤣🤣 Talking to a camera is much easier than actually talking to people. But I'm definitely trying to do more with groups. Will help me be a better athlete 💪👌
@@SwimBikeRunStugood point. I’ve become very relaxed talking to the camera in my garage😮. And less actual human interaction 🥹.
@sagsdothedu yeh when I talk to a camera I don't get an answer back 🤣🤣 It's always harder to vlog when I'm trying to listen to someone else and concentrate on vlogging 🙈
