I just started my sisterlocks and I'm starting my 6 year old granddaughter sisterlocks today I'm super excited about our loc journey together 😊✨😊 thank you so much for sharing your experience I got some very helpful notes now thanks again
@@carolelanier7127 Congratulations to you both - it’s a beautiful journey to undertake together. Your granddaughter is going to love the freedom and beauty of her hair, as are you. Wishing you all the very best x
Happy New Year. I look forward to hearing from you. Do you ever steam your hair or use the sauna? Your hair looks beautiful
@@rachelandy2207 Happy New Year to you too! I don’t actually, I’ve never done either but I’d love to get my locs steamed. I’d love to have them washed at a proper salon like I used to every couple of weeks when I had relaxed hair. Now that my locs are mature I’m going to look into this and I’d love somewhere that also steamed my locs. What makes you ask?
Love your beautiful hair ❤❤❤
@@XuriousLocs Thank you so much!
Wow I love your locs. I’m getting sister locs after I’m done combing out my traditional locs. How many do you have?
Thank you and congrats on making the decision - I hope you love them as much as we do. I have close to 600, but honestly I haven’t counted them since they were done, my consultant did at the time. I’ve never counted this set myself. And the number of locs will vary by person to person, your consultant will determine what’s best for your head at the time. Wishing you all the best.
Happy New Year!!! My five year locaversary is in March. Your Locs are gorgeous!!!!
Congratulations on your upcoming locaversary 🎉. Doesn’t time just fly by? Thank you for watching the video and commenting 🙌🏾
Happy New Year, wow you and your daughter’s hair has really grown. I think Sisterlocs looks really nice on high density hair because when you had your retie, it looked great 👍🏿
Happy New Year to you too 😊 Thank you for watching and commenting. Yes my daughter’s hair has grown wonderfully and she loves her locs. I love seeing sisterlocks on all hair types, I love seeing how different it is on each of us. I saw a little girl with a full head of sisterlocks today and she was gorgeous - I love this for us 🙌🏾❤️
At the airport right now returning from my holiday, sisterlocks are really a blessing😂. Your hair and your daughter's look wonderful!
Aren’t they just? They make life so easy 🙌🏾. I hope you had an amazing holiday ❤ Thank you for commenting, lovely to hear from you and I hope you’re thriving ✊🏾❤️
Where can I get my locks done in the Birmingham area.
@@amoyclarke431 I wouldn’t know as I live in the south. If you want sisterlocks, you should go on the website and get yourself a registered consultant. Be sure to see examples of their work and ask all the right questions to be satisfied with who installs and maintains them for you. Good luck!
I wish that I had gotten SL. I have micro Locs. Your hair is beautiful. I am also 5 years in this past November and I also use minimal product. New subscriber. 💜
@@BoujieKCTrucker Microlocs are also beautiful, enjoy them. But nothing is forever, you can change your hair up whenever you’re ready.

Beautiful, long, and healthy! One thing I've learnt in my journey is that grid obsession is not worth it. It might lead to thinning as well as unnecessary anxieties😅
@@Forlocsake You’re so right on that an absolutely on the thinning part, when what we really want is a healthy scalp and follicles. I trust and hope all is well with you and that your journey is going wonderful 🫶🏾
🤩 So much hair!!

omg, it's been years since you've popped up in my feed! Your locs have grown so much!! You look great!
@@dianawilliams2827 thank you so much! Yes, I barely post anymore, but I hope I always will.
I used this and the flakes literally lifted up and it soothes the itches, it stung at first but when it started to clear up it burned less. I used the shampoo and cream too.
Aww this was lovely to watch. Cant wait to get my establishment!!! I hope my husband like it. He is still on the fence lol
Thank you! 5 years later and my husband loves them more and more. I’m so glad I did it. I hope you have too 😊
Gorgeous Sisterlocs so thick and full and healthy!!! Lion mane of locs!!
Thank you!!
I have been using it for a month day and night for regrowing my hairs on my scalp but cant see any kind of results
Oh no - did you go back and speak with your doctor?
Wow!!! You Locs😮
Wow!!! Absolutely beautiful 🔥🔥🔥
Thanking you Nita ❤❤
Hey, thanks for this video. Am really struggling with my daughter’s hair ; so I have started on the sister lock journey. However, the parts I am so far done with already have build up (lint), even when I put something to cover her hair at night. What would you advise for me to use to avoid lint buildup?
Very nice to see you again and glad your scalp finally has what it needs. You had so much growth in the 4 years it's beautiful and I'm happy you keep your same consultant. I would love to see your girl's hair too. Thanks for the update!
Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment - much appreciated. I will do an update video of our journey as her locs have also grown some. Thanks again and stay well
Gorgeous sisterlocs❤❤❤ I’ve been loc’d 5 months now and can’t wait for the length to come. May I ask how you developed buildup?
Thank you! The length will be here before you even realise it, enjoy every stage! As for the buildup, I wish I knew 😩😩. I don’t use any products at all, I think it’s got to be my shampoo, maybe some lint? Also, I don’t sleep with my head covered or cover it like most others do generally. So I can’t complain - it’s my own doing. I will dye it at some point. Most annoying thing about the journey. - or only annoying thing.
Here watching 😊
I am 3 months into my journey and I have to comb them out and start over. I found out that I do not even have the sister lock grid. I went to see another consultant because I noticed I could not make any truly straight lines to do a style I wanted to do. Little did I know, that was the least of my worries. I have holes in my locs throughout my head too. Some of my locs have several holes in one loc. I chose a brand ambassador because I thought I was getting a better consultant. Come to find out, that is just a class to get the title and has nothing to do with their skill level. I did everything I was supposed to do, and yet I am out of 3K and having to start over. There’s no oversight, so I have to take this woman to small claims court to retrieve my money while also spending what I already paid the first loc consultant to my new loc consultant to take down and re-establish my hair. I wish I could upload photos of how atrocious my locs are. It is not enough to go through the sisterlock website, and the titles they carry are no indication of their skill level. You MUST first locate other people who already have sisterlocks and ask them to see their locs and question them about their experience. If they did not get their locs established by the person who does their hair in that moment, keep searching. If it means it will take you longer to find a consultant, IT’S WORTH THE WAIT! You do NOT want to be in the position I am in right now! Once you find a person who can vouch for the work of the consultant who established their locs, THEN you look on the sisterlock website to ensure they are certified. Do NOT start your search with the sisterlock website like I did.
Thanks for this from a bloke! Was prescribed this but was a bit concerned about using it.
I hope it worked!
Hi there, thanks for the video, 6 months locked and Im struggling to keep my psoriasis at bay as I've been asked not to wash as much ( I usually wash once a week) so the hair locks. Do you still use this routine?
Sorry to hear that, I know how frustrating it can be. Frequent washing isn’t negotiable when you have a scalp condition, it’s necessary. I use aloe gel on my scalp as a pre poo but there was also a steroid ointment that my GP prescribed. I’ve got videos on both here. I no longer need or use the ointment but when things were really bad it helped. Aloe gel and T gel seem to have me well covered. Not sure if you’ve seen a professional, but that would no doubt help.
Thank you for replying! I know for a fact that the only thing that helps me is washing regularly. I have to was it every week and that’s not helping my locks. The stuff from the GP works but isn’t practical to use long term ( steroids and all) . I just need to manage it till my hair ‘locks’ 😩. Got the Aloe juice today, trying the mix out without the oils. I hope it helps, the plan is to cut back on washing cos of slippage. Thank you so much for your videos xxx
How do I control the smell from the application? I have it prescribed once daily to patches. And I have been struggling to apply it since I have long curly/wavy hair.
Honestly, for me the smell wore off once dry, after a few minutes on my scalp. And as your scalp clears, I assume you’ll use less of it, less often? But probably something to talk through with your doctor or whoever prescribed it. Best wishes
Did your GP give you any antibiotics as well??
No
Wow, your hair is in the long category now. Looking forward to 3 years! And yes locs on holiday are a breeze
Thanks for the update. I forgot what getting in the pool meant for my hair when I was a child. All the work that had to go into it afterwards. Locs just make things so much easier. 👍🏾👍🏾
Thank you for commenting. It’s nice to be able to forget! Feels like true freedom and liberation.
Love your locks and lovely daughter's as well! My friend who just moved to London would like to start her lock journey. Can I have your locks consultant's info at all to pass on to her?
Thank you! My consultant is Sista in touch on Instagram, Michelle Smith. She’s based in South East London.
First time lovely locs
Thank you!
I’m new to your channel and love your hair. You may not have had much to share on this video, but I’m hoping you have more content on other videos. Sharing your actual routine with the sprays and oils is an idea. Showing us how you mix your oils together, etc.
beautiful set of locks. I love how full your crown is. I’ve been locked going on four years and still working on my thin crown. Thanks for sharing your routine.
Thank you so much! Really appreciate you watching and complimenting. I’m sure your locs are just gorgeous and suit you perfectly 👌🏿
Your hair looks amazing and has grown exponentially. Thank you for sharing. I have thought that I would have tried the Almocado brand by now. I will try it soon. Thanks for the reminder.
Thank you Jean! Yes, you should try them for sure - I love their products.
Do you still have the buildup at the back? What did you do about it in the end?
I do and it’s gotten even worse! I’ve managed to achieve nothing! But I haven’t really tried to get rid of it. I’m going to dye it eventually. From taking down my first set of locs and seeing how entwined it was, like chewing gum, I don’t hold out any hope of getting it out 😩
This is good info for when I start still. Thank you. I’ve noticed your accent. I’m from the midlands and looking for someone this way to install and maintain mine. Was there anyone you went to that was a good consultant further North from London at all?
@@lavene53 sorry - just seeing this comment! My accent is northern but I’ve lived in the south for over 30 years. So, I only know of consultants in the south. I used the sisterlocks website and then insta and Facebook to back up my search at the time. I hope you’ve found someone.
You and daughter Sisterlocs look fantastic
Thank you so much! 😊
Hi Leecey, great to see another video from you. I have been following your channel since day one. Your locks are looking great, so long and full of body, beautiful. Your daughters hair is also coming along so well. You mentioned you still braid and band. I assume it’s to help with bunching. My locks are 2 years old, I have curly ends and still braid and band otherwise the curly ends bunch up. Great to see your progress.
Hey Lorraine, Thanks so much for following, commenting and supporting. Yes, I braid and band because there is still movement in my locs but I’m afraid the bunching has struck again 😩 I’ve given up this time and I’m just enjoying the journey, it adds to the character of my locs overall I’ve decided. My daughter has a different hair texture and does not have this problem at all - she’s truly free 🙌🏿 Lovely to hear from someone else on their loc journey - I hope yours is also going well and that you’re loving it 🥰
Go gurl your hair just grows and grows 😍 looks amazing
Thank you hunni ☺️
Your locs are beautiful 🌺 They look full and healthy 🥰
Thank you so much!
Wow it’s really grown!!
It has. It’s fairly consistent, no particular spurts that I can think of. I get my reties every 4-5 weeks and always have and there’s always a similar amount of regrowth. Thank you for watching and commenting.
Hey love your locks..what products do you use and were do you have your retire from?am new in the UK and I have been looking for a loctician to do my hair.i will really appreciate if you help me.Thank you
Thank you! I have some videos on the products I use but the truth is, not many! Rosewater occasionally but more on my daughters locs and scalp. I tend to use a mixture of water, aloe juice and some essential oils - rosemary and lemongrass. With my daughter, sometimes I use argan oil in her scalp after moisturising if her hair is feeling dry. Washing regularly (every 2 weeks at least) tends keeps our scalps and locs fresh and moisturised.
Both your hairs look great and has grown so much 🥰
Thank you! As does yours 😘
For how long you keep it in your hair 10mn ? Thanks
