That looks like a cracking route Alex. What gloves were you wearing? I struggle with cold fingers and wonder if a mitten type might be better.
Inspirational as usual..thank you!! ❤
This video has just gave me a new bucket list item 👌
Absolutely stunning, it's a brilliant walk to start with, but then to see it like this. Look forward to more of your video's
Love these videos! They’ve definitely come in useful over the past few months👏🏽👏🏽
Nice to touch on your mental health at the end You can never judge mate you was so up beat on camera it just goes to show you don’t know what someone is going through ❤ thanks for sharing your highs and lows all the best trev
Fantastic video, and what a cracking day! So clear. Got the fairfield horseshoe on the list for my first Lake District walk this year. Appreciate the mental health shout out wierdly, had some tough MH issues of my own over the last 10 years. Know that videos from U-tubers like yourself Alex, were a Massive part of giving me the confidence to get out for my first hike in the Peak District a few years back. In 2024 I managed 65 hikes! Life changer. Sorry to hear about your mum, im sure she was proud of the man you have become. Talking about Robins... its Skylarks for me. Evrery time I go Kinder, I swear there is one guy that finds me. On one occasion I was on the edge of a panic attack and he appeared from nowhere, sat on a rock next to me and burst into song. Anyways, rambling. Looking forward to this years content!
It was an absolutely cracking day for you 🎉Beautiful. A classic Wainwright Horseshoe 😊
Couldn’t have asked for a better winters day in the Lakes!
lovely video pal, very heartfelt towards the end of the video and showed a strong character to be honest about your feelings as many men (myself included) would struggle to do so good on you for that, little hazeOutdoors-esque which is only a good thing! Hope you're enjoying the lakes, keep it up and looking forward to the next vid :)
Thank you so much Andy, really appreciate your kind words there 😊 I’ve watched a lot of Haze Outdoors videos and he’s really helped me over the past couple of years. Always hard as a man to open up about your mental health, especially on the internet but hopefully it’ll help someone just like Haze has helped me, cheers mate 😊👍
Thanks for sharing another great walk with us! Loved the crystal clear skies and the snow-topped peaks in the distance. Thanks, all the best.
Thank you very much! Couldn’t have asked for better weather!
Wow Alex I have watched many of your vids and had no idea you struggled with MH so much. You shouldn’t cos you are a great guy, and I am sure everyone loves your work. However just a bit of advice from an elder guy. Life is full of ups and downs, some of the downs are very deep, everyone goes thru them there is no choice BUT you get a choice as to how you handle them. However deep the down is there will be a reversal and you will come out of it SO please be as positive as you can . CHIN UP MATE. Great vid by the way 💪💪👌👌✝️✝️
Thank you so much Richard, really do appreciate those kind words. I’m extremely fortunate to have the outdoors as a place to fall back on when times are tough, I’m doing good and this walk made me feel a heck of a lot better as a walk always does! Thank you again 😊
Great video thanks for sharing
Thank you 😊
Absolutely fantastic Video Alex, Can 100 percent relate to what you say in finding solace in the mountains. Helps a great deal with mental health. Keep up the great work pal!
Thank you very much! It’s funny how when we’re at our lowest we crave getting as high up in the mountains as possible. The outdoors will always be the best therapy. Thank you 😊
Awwww that robin! Funny that happened as last time I was in the Lakes I had a nasty fall. I was on my own & I got back to the bottom & leaned against a wall. I turned round & a little robin was right next to me as if it came to cheer me up! It brightened my day! Take care!
They always seem to appear when we need them most, such a special bird. Hope you’re doing okay now after your fall 😊
Beautiful views! Thank you Alex ❤
Thank you 😊
We all have good and bad days Alex. Being outside for me like yourself helps a lot. Keep up the great work 👍🏻
Absolutely brilliant video, Alex, a very touching and moving message and tribute to your mother, who I'm sure would be immensely proud of you. Keep up the excellent work, and best wishes for 2025!
Thank you so much, that’s really kind of you 😊
Excellent message, thanks for sharing 👏👍👏
Thank you very much 😊
Yet again, another brilliant video alex you really make me smile . Love the fells, and you're right it's great for mental health ❤
Thank you very much 😊
Another brilliant video Alex! Great views, advice and encouragement. We are not just physical, but also emotional beings that need feeding and support and your videos help so much. As I think I have said before, you do more good than you know. Working 7 days on the trot? Let me know who you work for and I’ll come and sort them out! 😆
Thank you so much Peter, I really appreciate your kind words as always. It’s so nice to hear that making these videos does a little good. The joys of working in retail 😂 a week of annual leave and Lake District fells to look forward to next week 😊 thanks again Peter, hope you’re well, all the best 👍
Excellent video, Alex, thoroughly enjoyed it 😊
What a credit you are to your mum. Another great walk and video as always. 👍
Thank you so much, that’s very kind of you 😊
Beautiful video. I did that route with my son a couple of years ago. Fond memories. Your mum would be proud of you x
Thank you very much, really appreciate that 😊
Wonderful vlog again Alex and a very moving ending, your mum Is definitely with you ❤
Thank you very much, very kind of you 😊
Such a powerful message Alex, from this mum, I'm sending you lots of love. Your mum would be immensely proud of you x
Thank you so much, I really appreciate that, very kind of you 😊
I loved that walk mate, just subscribed from a fellow UA-camr 😉👍
Thank you Phil! 😊
Super video of a cracking route. Thank you for sharing too, it can't be easy but I'm sure lots of people appreciate the thought and the care behind it. Wise words too. It's important to keep doing the things you love and being outdoors is one of the best therapies, but also everyone needs to look after themselves and remember it is okay to have off days. Really enjoy all your videos, both back in the Peaks and especially in the Lakes. Best wishes for the coming year.
Thank you so much, really do appreciate your kind words 😊 you’re so right, we do need to take care of ourselves. Even when times are tough we always need to remember to be kind to ourselves. Very lucky to have the outdoors to fall back on when I need. Thank you again 😊
Wow Alex, what a stunning walk, the music set it off perfectly, absolutely beautiful ❤
What an epic walk and the views were stunning. Thank you so much for taking me along. Well said about doing something you love can change your mood. I love gardening and walking the fells with my collie and it always makes me feel uplifted. Keep spreading those important words. We have an amazing area to explore. Best wishes for 2025
Thank you so much, really appreciate it 😊 We’re so lucky to have the outdoors as a hobbie, such a privilege isn’t it, not sure how I’d cope without access to it! Thank you very much 😊
Alex, another outstanding video. I did the very same route several years ago and followed a lad who was wearing chefs trousers of all things (no backpack at all!) he was at least thirty years my junior, but was going at such a pace, but I managed to keep up with him, more out of intrigue than anything else. your openness is refreshing and I also can relate to your situation. please keep your videos coming, you're a star. thanks again.
Thank you so much! 😊 There’s always someone wearing a surprising outfit but I think chefs trousers might take the top spot 😂
Thanks for another great video and was wonderful what you said it’s great to talk as men we cover too much up
Thank you very much 😊 You’re very right, sometimes feels very hard to open up as a man and I very nearly edited out that end bit. Glad I didn’t, thank you 😊
Epic day out in the fells. Helvellyn looking awesome from Fairfield 👌. Your mum was definitely with you at the end of that walk mate 🤜🤛
Thank you so much, really appreciate it 😊
Your uploads are the best day of the week. Me and my other half were going to do the old man of coniston walk you put up the other week. Plans have changed now because of this video. Amazing walk!
That’s so nice to hear!! 😊 Fairfield is very hard to beat on a clear day and now you have the perfect excuse to come back and do Coniston as well 😎, thanks guys and enjoy your walk! 😊
Amazing video ! Planning on doing this at the weekend. Is there any good spots for a summit camp ? Looks quite Rocky from the video. Thanks
Just caught up on your latest, epic day out, thanks for filming and sharing. Great quality, looked amazing on film, so must have been epic live. Really impressed by your consideration of others ref your drone. Top bloke!
Good vid with great scenery and good camera work........!
I echo the sentiments of the comment below this one. Another great video!!!
Yo Alex, I'm going to be visiting this sort of area in the next couple of days and starting my own UA-cam channel @winslowwalks92. Would you be interested in meeting up and helping out in the area?
Great video Alex, really fancy doing this one. Quick question, when you say the top bit of Grindsbrook Clough is ‘technical’ coming down…..how technical, speaking as a devoted non-scrambler 😏
I absolutely love your attitude towards life Alex, it makes your videos a joy to watch. I hope that your UA-cam channel goes from strength to strength, and I'm sure we will see you on the TV at some point in the future!
Mate… sealskinz waterproof socks? You got the gloves try the socks???
Ive walked this route many times, im in my 50's and not as fit these days so blisco, crinkles, and bow fell would have been enough for me in the winter, summer a different story, i would either drop down to ore gap and either turn right down to angle tarn and descend rossett ghyll, or go straight ahead at ore gap onto esk pike then esk hause before passing angle tarn, it all depends on what energy i had left on the day 😅
Great to see someone using a paper map and so young
OUTSTANDING Alex! 🇨🇦👍
Was this on Friday 27th Dec? I shared the same views and incredible scenes from Great End, waving at you. Great footage
I’m looking at doing this solo as my first sort of hike, what is that app you use ?
@@alexrobinson5817 it’s called OS Maps, highly recommend using it, especially up on Kinder. You should be able to find routes directly through the app or very similar routes from a google search that you can download as a gpx file directly to the app. I wouldn’t worry too much about trying to find the summit like I did in this video, takes you quite a bit off the main footpath. Highly recommend getting an OL1 paper map as well. Really easy to get lost up on Kinder especially when misty, if it’s your first hike maybe do the Great Ridge/Mam Tor first, great intro to hiking in the Peaks and stunning views. Stay safe and enjoy mate! 😊
@ thank you for that I’ll definitely look into Mam tor
Love that tee Alex, where can I get one in XXL?
What route did you take Alex?
Epic mate well done and so lucky to get that..breath taking
