HOCD: is it real or in my head?
HOCD (or SOOCD) can be an incredibly confusing condition. As someone who lived with HOCD for many years I know how it feels. We can get to wondering whether it's really real or whether we are making it up in our heads.
Many of us wonder if we really have HOCD or whether it's not real. The obsession about HOCD can become an HOCD obsession in itself and it gets so confusing. We wonder if we're gay and in denial or whether it is HOCD.
This video explains what HOCD is, what it isn't, and how you can tell if you have HOCD or not. It also explains how you can work out the best course of action if you are suffering from symptoms related to HOCD or obsessive anxiety.

    13:27 the main problem with your argument is that you’re begging the question. you’re taking for granted that there is a meaningful, scientifically objective and rational distinction that should be legalized recognized between “trans” women and “cis” women. That needs to be demonstrated and hasn’t been. The alternative view is that there are only men and women, not “cis” and “trans”. That what gets called a “trans woman” is just a man (perhaps one who sincerely believes to be a woman or sincerely desires to be one). But beliefs and desires do not alter one’s biology. Law must respect objective reality; you don’t get special rights and privileges based on what you think your sex to be or hope it to be or want others to perceive you as being. Analogously, you can’t just claim to be disabled and get the rights of a disabled person. So the argument that trans women don’t belong in women’s spaces is because they believe trans women are not women. That’s what you’re up against. You aren’t engaging with the core problem, but preaching to the choir. What is a woman? It’s either an adult human female (an objective, biologically grounded definition), or …what else is there? I haven’t heard an alternative definition that meets the minimal demand of being coherent (not contradicting itself and not leading to infinite regress). If you think there should be no women’s spaces (and no women’s sports), fine, make the argument. But that’s distinct.

    It would be nice to know in advance that in order to DM and see who likes you I have to sign up for a subscription which is 35 a month and for three months or a year it is even more, but of course you’re paid to mention that app so of course it would be omitted. Dating apps are just becoming disappointing now because to even DM people there is a paywall. They’re just here now for the desperate.

    I identify as demisexual, because I don't have physical attraction to basically nobody, except for the people, I have built up a relationship with. However, I can build up those bonds and feel attraction to basically all genders and sexes and in that case, the character is more important than their gender. I see and recognise their sex/gender but it's not the main thing.

    Personally, this didn't completely clear my mind, but instead of just straight, I'm now gonna tell some people that I'm straight and open to trying new things. If I date a boy, or frick a boy, and like it, then I'm bi. I don't really think I could define myself as not straight before experiencing a non-straight relationship.

    As a Bi guy, I agree, it is often easier to date or get together with men. With women, it can be a long drawn out combination of chats, text messages, and finally meeting in person. I don't spend time in bars or nightclubs to meet women. With guys, I find it much easier, and quicker to get together. During my airline career, many guys hit on me, or wanted to date me. What I like about men is, that male bonding that takes place when I service him, and provide him with pleasure. I also enjoy watching gay porn. But I am only attracted to guys who are slender, thin, or athletic body. I also have no interest in a relationship with men, only sexually. However, I have had relationships with women. Now, I am single and enjoying being single.

    I have started questioning my sexuality more so now because I am finding myself less attracted to men due to all the bad experiences/heartbreakingly hurtful outcomes from previous relationships... alongside absolutely stale and horrible responses/lack of responses from men over dating apps/speed dating events etc. The idea of being with a woman (who are usually more emotionally expressive and directly commutative with said emotions.) seems to be a more appealing route at this stage. I am single.. I am almost 30... and I am bloody lonely! Is it possible for someone who is ''straight.'' who is experiencing dating burn out/no luck no matter what they seem to do... to become bi curious and then proceed to give dating the same gender a go in hopes that something more genuine sticks finally?? ; x ;

Just sad that biphobia is a thing, as well as all other phobias against queer and minority people. I really need an LGBTQ+ channel I can trust without any gatekeepers or bitches. I completely agree. "Just treat people as people" and then they say all these other things that doesn't feel like we're people. Its all these conditions. "If they do this its not natural or good for them", "not normal", "its a sin". Its some kind cognitive dissonance. I am expecting the bare minimum of being treated like a person, it just feels like its not. I can be nice and treat people like people, but these people don't, nice on paper but not practical or reality. We are just not there yet. I want to be left alone, but on the other hand, it makes me learn how bad it can truly get, so I want to fight for people in the community. I'm definitely no educator, maybe challenge them a bit to really dig deep on how their thinking actually is. I do like talking about experiences, I share mines all the time. I've been listening to other experiences outside of the gay community. I have plenty of queer friends but I could support them better. I keep hearing all this transphobia everywhere and it makes me want to listen to trans people. We do have some biphobia in the gay community, listening to bi experiences is helping me improve my own communication. We're not a monolith, we're diverse, but I feel like even with the community fighting, we can be strong when it matters. Also yes I love the nail polish. I hope to find more of these "in the trenches" type during the times our rights are being threatened. I can defend myself in normal situations. I don't trust these "allies" enough when it comes to voting to protect our rights. I don't expect people to completely understand us, but I just want our rights to stay/be equal and stop spreading so much queerphobia.
