Thanks for stopping by! I like games. I especially like messing around with spaceships in games, but all games are potentially good.
If I've played something and I have something I want to share, it'll end up on here - expect mostly Elite Dangerous content, but with other bits thrown in when the mood takes me. I may not be the most talented player of games, but for me, it's the enjoyment that really matters.
Hope you enjoy what you find - if you want to reach out, go for it via any of the means listed on here.

The Imperial Cutter - The Empire's Crowning Jewel [Elite Dangerous Ship Review]
Today we're looking at and reviewing the Imperial Cutter from Elite Dangerous - it's Gutamaya's most expensive flyable ship with their unmistakable styling. It's a behemoth of trade and a competent fighter. Let's take a look...
As always, this is a review of the ship, going through my personal impressions on it.

Glitching Inside the Imperial Cutter [Elite Dangerous]
Переглядів 1,1 тис.Місяць тому
Whilst getting footage for the upcoming Imperial Cutter ship review, I accidently glitched the camera inside the ship and started poking around it. I also worked out how to replicate this glitch, so figured I'd share the knowledge. No full ship interior unfortunately, but it's interesting all the same. The Asp Explorer - Multirole or Pure Explorer? [Elite Dangerous Ship Review]
Переглядів 994Місяць тому
This is a review of the Asp Explorer from Elite Dangerous - it's the civilian version of the discontinued Asp MK2, produced by Lakon and primarily known for it's huge jump range and middling price point between the DBX and Krait Phantom, but is it a one trick pony? As always, this is a review of the ship, going through my personal impressions on it. All footage taken from Elite Dangerous Odysse...
The Federal Assault Ship - An Upgrade to the Vulture [Elite Dangerous Ship Review]
Переглядів 1,4 тис.2 місяці тому
The Federal Assault ship is the mid-priced ship in the Dropship line from Core Dynamics - specifically designed for Federation Officers and closely specced to one of it's rivals - the Alliance Chieftain. It's got the least number of hardpoints in the Dropship line, but are hardpoint numbers the only thing that determine the outcome of a battle? I don't think so In this video, I go through my pe...
The Keelback - Refined Over 101 Years [Elite Dangerous Ship Review]
Переглядів 1,2 тис.2 місяці тому
The Keelback - or as I like to call it, the Type 6.5, is a combat freighter, based on Lakon's Type-6 Transporter. It's got a stack of improvements over the Type 6, with both offense and defence in mind, but is it any good, or is it a half-baked attempt to diversify the Type-6 platform? In this video, I go through my personal impressions on this ship. All content taken from Elite Dangerous: Odys...
The Python MK2 - Worthy of the Name "Python"? [Elite Dangerous Ship Review]
Переглядів 8 тис.3 місяці тому
The Python MK2 - the first new ship in the Elite galaxy for over 6 years. It's Faulcon DeLacy's successor to the venerable Python MK1 - a ship that paved the way for all ships with it's modular internals and arguably the best medium multi-role ship. It's a fine looking ship, but does 600 years of improvements make it a better ship, or is it an imposter that doesn't deserve to bear the name Pyth...
The Orca - Elegance Unleashed [Elite Dangerous Ship Review]
Переглядів 1,4 тис.4 місяці тому
The Orca - Saud Kruger's oldest available design of luxury space-liner in Elite Dangerous. It's their medium take on this sort of ship (although still needs a large landing pad), fitting between the tiny Dolphin and the massive Beluga liners. Question is, does it feel like a luxury ship? Can it munch through endless lightyears and provide passengers with a good experience and can it defend itse...
The Alliance Crusader - An Over-Compromised Ship? [Elite Dangerous Ship Review]
Переглядів 2,5 тис.4 місяці тому
The Alliance Crusader from Lakon Spaceways in Elite Dangerous, is the second iteration of ships from the Chieftain / Type-X line, hitting the middle price point between the astonishingly good value Chieftain and the more expensive Challenger. Question is, does it sit in an awkward middle ground, or is it worth spending your hard-earned credits on instead of buying a Chieftain. In this video, I ...
The Type-9 Heavy - A Behemoth of Trade [Elite Dangerous Ship Review]
Переглядів 3,4 тис.5 місяців тому
The Type-9 Heavy in Elite Dangerous is Lakon's largest trader and the basis of the Type-10 Defender. It has a capacity to rival the Imperial Cutter at a much lower cost, which initially sounds good, but is it really any good as a ship? The Fer-De-Lance - The Combat King? [Elite Dangerous Ship Review]
Переглядів 5 тис.6 місяців тому
The Fer-De-Lance (also known as the FDL) in Elite Dangerous is Zorgon Peterson's choice for the professional bounty hunter - it's a medium ship that's been created purely for combat, rather than being a jack of all trades. To many, this ship is the meta for combat, but is it all it's cracked up to be? Is it overrated? Can it be used for other roles? Let's take a look... All content taken from E...
The Diamondback Explorer - The Best Small Explorer? [Elite Dangerous Ship Review]
Переглядів 2,8 тис.6 місяців тому
The Diamondback Explorer (also known as the DBX) in Elite Dangerous is Lakon's premier small exploration vessel, which started life as an improved version of the Diamondback Scout. It's often a ship that never gets replaced by Commanders, once they take it out into the black for the first time - because if does the job so well. But is it the best? Is it overrated? Let's look... The Type-10 Defender - Improved Over Time... [Elite Dangerous Ship Review]
Переглядів 6 тис.7 місяців тому
The Type-10 Defender in Elite Dangerous is Lakon's initial response to the Thargoid threat, long before the current invasion of the bubble started. It was initially slated by the AX community as a waste of time, and a meme ship more than anything else, but since it was released, a number of developments have o...

The Imperial Courier Review - Balancing Power & Style [Elite Dangerous]
The T7 was not a bad ship but it's so overshadowed by everything else I stopped flying it once I could afford something better. I really hope now that the type 8 is out that they improve the type 7 with a brief rework. If they gave it a bigger thruster class, at least one size 7 slot (two would be nice), and that 5th hardpoint on the underside (why the heck is it blanked out?) I feel like it would be a valid mid-tier trader, too large for outpost trading but less of a chore to fly than a type 9, especially for npc interdictions.
It's unfortunate that the federation medium ships are all slow, heavy, and have poor shields. They're not impossible to use, especially with their good vectoring, but they're so niche and almost exclusively PvE only, and not Thargoid PvE either, due to their slow speed and mediocre hard point count. One wonders how the federation military keeps functioning when this is what their combat vessels are like.
1:30 Was that a The Pilot reference snuck in there?
It’s a shame latest windows update 22h2 doesn’t work with these
I really love that you dive deep into lore before reviews. I really love it with this ship review series you’re doing. Nothing beats knowing your favorite ships’ lore
It’s a spear that can penetrate any battle zones with ease
Thank you!
i put two huge beam lasers on my corvette. can i fire for a long time? no. do i need to fire for a long time? no. considering anything i point my prow at gets disintegrated within seconds
I love you so much
I've made about 72 billion credits with my Cutter and counting, still waiting for FDEV to come up with a worthy competitor to the ship.
I have done a LOT of mining (Back when it was more lucrative) in my Cutter. I was able to fly it like a fighter around spinning asteroids with no problem. Love using it that way. Tons of Limpets, so much cargo capacity, LOTS of mining tools with Good guns for toasting nosey Pirates. Of course the right ship kit makes it even more beautiful. I will never sell my first Cutter, though I did sell my second that was only for mining. The TYPE-8 will likely be my new miner though.
but my window 11 doesnt have that driver names as xbox peripherals please help
I plugged it into the rear ports. USB 3.0 works. USB 2.0 does not work.
It's a pretty good thargoid killer, especially in planetary CZs and with GPCs. You can do the double-tap instakill on interceptors if you get the timing right.
1:16 it just looks out of scale and weird, but the style is nice
This is the ship that's kept in the bedside nightstand, for when someone needs a solo experience, is that what you were getting at....girthy....etc 🍆
Thank you it worked
The remark about buying the Frame shift drive, LMAO.
Yet the power plant is like eight times more expensive
I do love the cutter. Great for using as a fighter carrier too! Looks gorgeous with the metallic red metal paintjob I have.
Listen to yourself at 1.5 speed. You talk so slow.
I use mine as a lightweight unshielded fast cargo runner with 784t cargo space
Just discovered you, love the video.
The in cockpit FoV is always set to 60 so it looks flat. But you can edit this in the config file using notepad. I have mine set to 90 because anything higher causes the letters and images on the panels lose digital integrity so you cannot read them. But it adds so much depth to the cockpit itself and makes it have a much rounder appealing look instead of a flat boring surface.
Problem with the cutter is the powerplant is in the "neck" of the ship, behind cockpit and before the ship proper. It doesn't have nearly enough armor surrounding it, once you've managed to chew through the shields, just sub-target the PP and 'plant 'em. Gutamaya needs to stop building pretty and follow in Core Dynamics footsteps.
Most broken ship in the game. Having highest shield multiplier is fine by me, but to add to that the fastest acceleration and top speed of any big ship is just broken a.f. and many cmdrs with big skill issue end up relying on them. Best cutter moments in my book is when they go boooooooooooom.
Do the type 8 bruv
Huge gimbal beam laser with thermal vent, 4 Imperial Hammers and Packhounds on the wings makes a pretty solid pve ship with FA off and she has virtually impenetrable shields outside of pvp. She is absolutely the best laser miner in the game though maneuverability and size are a bit rough for core mining. I’m getting ready to take my Explorer Cutter to Beagle Point later in the year after the Thargoid war wraps up. I’m such a simp for this ship lol.
I think the Cutter is second only to the Courier in the Gutamaya lineup in terms of looks And, I don't care who yells at me for saying this, but the T10 is just a pathetic Cutter wannabe
Yeah, love my Courier too. Got my boosted speed up to around 850
That's one of the best names I've seen for this ship! 😂
Well it does have one very good advantage: it has the highest innate shield HP multiplier, allowing the cutter to reach the *highest shield value* in the game, 10,000 HP if you go with reinforced prismo with all heavy duty boosters on all ultitiy points
It is a royal ship, and it can do a lot of things well while the pilot looks like money is not an issue anymore. But in the end I tend to play way more Anaconda and the Cutter is the hauler the Type 9 should be. Great video as always, hope you saw the new really good looking ship. I will buy it as soon as possible and the bubble won't see me for a year xD
I got one for mining but quickly it became too tedious to fill up. It is also a pig to fly. I still have it but prefer my mining Python. One hour toaster rack to toaster rack. My trading Cutter does come out for Community Goals with shields that enable me to stroll away from would be pirates. Again, it is a pig to fly so if I do want to just chill and do a little trading... As a tramp steamer captain plying my trade, it's the Anaconda for me. A joy to fly. I do have a Type 9 for loading/ofloading my Carrier but that very quickly felt like work. A stevedore rather than an adventure crossing the high seas of space.
Do you have G5 dirty drives ? Makes a big difference to both the T9 and Cutter, flight experiences. With respect to top speeds and maneuverability.
Love flying my cutter despite drifting like a semi on ice haha
The drifting is amazing during ring mining, while using the pulse wave. You can boost up away from the rocks, turn back towards the rocks to pulse wave, and you'll continue drifting up away from the rocks while pulse waving. Which is nice, because you need to keep your distance from the rocks while pulse waving. The drifting makes it a lot easier to do that. I love mining in a Cutter!
I just didn't like the engine sounds - I think when yawing - if I remember correctly. And I just preferred the T9 for trading. Great reviews! o7
The T9 is awesome with G5 dirty drives. Get those if you don't have it yet. I can boost to WAY over 300 m per second in my T9. And it turns soo much better!
The cutter... It's truly majestic in my eyes, and she can be a mighty miner and hauler. Maybe one day I might get her. But the rank grind put me off.
GOAT
i cant get the receiver to populate on the device list. any advice?
I havent afforded one yet but i just love the idea of it. Going to try some AX builds with it
Undoubtedly my favourite ship in the game. Probably my favourite ship of all time. I love it so much that I actually 3d printed a miniature version of it and kept it in my pocket for more than a year. I just returned from a quick 10000 Ly round trip with it and my only gripe is with myself - I thought I had an Artemis suit so I would get to scan all these never before landed on planets...I didn't. The smaller fuel scoop is only mildly inconvenient. I still managed roughly 50-55sec per jump time in my 85 jump return journey. I did move onto the Krait Phantom eventually like you did. But they are very, very different ships. The DBX is my dedicated explorer and its looks and size make it feel like that first decent car you got and travelled and really learnt to drive (maybe even race) in. The Phantom on the other hand has it all - looks, performance, internal components - all the bells and whistles. It's become my "Search and Rescue" ship - engineered guns, components, an almost full array of limpets and an AFMU.
Ah, finally someone to fill the void which The Pilot's retirement created - someone whose videos I can enjoy watching even though I already know pretty much everything on the topic at hand. Videos that I shall occasionally rewatch just to relax and unwind. Good job, Commander! Liked and subscribed. With that out of the way, back to the topic of this video - I've been away from ED for the better part of two years but I started playing again the other day. And I found man's best friend sitting quietly in my hangar - my old Keelback named Rottweiler. It's about time I took it out for a walk once more. Quick update: I made slight modifications to the Rottie's loadout and went hunting in the nearby high res site. Sporting simple and stock dual s2 plasma accelerators and dual s1 multicannons, a fighter bay, some shield boost and module reinforcement + repair and collector limpets and a modest AFMU....I had A TON of fun. 10 million credits might be like 50 cent at this stage of the game but the fun factor was super high. And much more often than not, I was the one initiating fights and not simply kill stealing. It takes A LOT of distributor management but it's good fun.
cant get my controller to connect for some reason ? doesnt seem to recognise the receiever
I quite like the Imperial designs but I wish they had more ships, in particular something that leaned more heavily into a combat role.
Second only to the Phantom boost sound.
This week i finally got my hands on one. I don't know what to do with it, but she is fast and look stunning. Maybe use her for jousting.
I absolutely love the Mk. IV but it's always felt as though it should be more of a torpedo bomber to me, it's just a shame this isn't really supported in the game.
Never actually owned the Chief, but the other two.... they're treats if you like making weird loadouts. If you have Cytoscramblers and Pack Hounds, they're my favorite pairing with the C-series.
I really want to grab a Mamba when I can but I'm working from a fresh save so having to rebuild. I'm attempting this exobiology stuff at the moment for some "quick" cash but honestly not seeing the return people keep talking about.
I hear it's a great titan bomber
came back to the game recently after a 4y break. With billions of credits and dozens of ships, I decided to make my first trip out to colonia and beyond. Did I hop into my 75 ly exploraconda? No, I engineered my old DBX and we headed out. Great ship.
THANK YOU SO MUCH
