Hi there lovely people. Finally wrapping up the last of the Type-X / Chieftain line of ships with this one. Hope you enjoy it, and hope you have a most excellent weekend
This ship shines in odyssey with a crew. Only medium ship in the game that can have 4 seats. Perfect for hitting CZs both space and ground. I have a 6 fighter bay and 4 SRV bay in mine. Wonderful ship for what it is, people always try to compare it to more turn key specialized ships like the Chief but its an absolute house for shortish (
@@SWIFTO_SCYTHE If you landed and let out 2 players leave in one or two SRVs and then took off to a high enough altitude to deploy the fighter (whoever was piloting the Crusader couldn't land at that point until SLF docked), yes all 4 players could be out and about.
Crusader is perfect for plundering stuff near titans, dropping drones, collecting mats and still enough firepower... dropping npc and/or player fighters near Taranis (cuz no toxic cloud) is also possible. The Crusader is awesome for multiplayers.
For anyone who likes the crusader for its abilities only and not for its looks, the federal gunship is next up for you. I've experienced it.. crusader felt like a nice cheap platform that i could test anything on but once i found what worked best on it and had more credits, i got a gunship and it was better in all aspects of gameplay and only looked back to the crusader to thank it for introducing me to the federal gunship
Thanks for doing this (so I didn't have to) Yeah, I own thirty-five out of the thirty-seven currently available ships, and this is one (Dropship the other) that I have completely skipped in my entire two-plus year playthrough thus far -- and seeing fresh reviews such as this only reinforce that decision. I'm aware you're a "full hanger" type guy, but there is no way I could justify a place in the fleet when it would just sit for the most part. I'm very pleased with the other two variants with indigenous builds. Here, I'm unable to put together anything meaningful for the cost. More than redundant with the other ships you listed. I'm really glad you mentioned Keelback because that's basically the same ship overall, for less cost. Since you're fighter capable, it would have been better to omit the military slots just for this version. Then, I'm in there like swimwear. As is, hard pass.
Dropship 100% falls in the same category - keep meaning to drag mine out of the hanger to put some kills on it, but I always seem to gravitate towards something else. As for the Keelback - it's a fine ship for what you pay for it - always worthy of a spot in the hanger
I started with crusader in the chieftain lineup so I love this ship, don't see the point of the challenger, and think the chieftain would be just perfect if it had a Fucking fighter.

A Thankyou for continuing on the ship reviews in 2024!
Glad you're enjoying them - still got a few to go yet, and hopefully some of the new ships will drop in the next big update

Can you deploy all four SRV and each person can drive one?
@@SWIFTO_SCYTHEhe meant grade, so basically g6 fighter bay equals 2 fighters. G4 srv equals 2 srv.

I love all the newer ED youtubers coming up to fill the void and add their voice!

Star ship category: Meh.
Yep, that pretty much sums it up :)
The whole line falls into that category for me.
