South Park's Surprisingly Good Tourette's Episode
Join me as we look at South Park's surprisingly sensitive episode about Tourette's Syndrome. With Cartman up to his usual and Kyle predictably stressed, did Matt Stone & Trey Parker still manage to handle this subject with proper care?

Maybe because static shock dealt with this a lot more reasonable and a lot more respectful and they didn't make every single white person sound like a big it and when the racist guy was told he was racist he wasn't told that he was some kind of un redeemable monster unlike this sjoe I'm liberal I'm awoke but even this show is too much for me
At the end of the "debate", they make a big deal about how they "don't need reparations. All we need is our freedom." They're literally arguing for the opposition, but the writers were so delusional in their own heads that they forgot what the debate was actually about
These girls in the show completely ignore the fact that other blacks that sold their own kind into slavery to the Europeans and Europeans were not the only ones who use black slaves native Americans use them as well and other blacks did too. Plus blacks were not the only ones that were put into slavery at 1 point white people were put into slavery British Italian French and the Irish. Native Americans were put into slavery too so were Indians and arabic's Chinese and Japanese as well every race from the past has been in slavery at some point but the show completely ignores them and just says that black people were the only ones that were slaves. They are completely ignorant and stupid
Shit review ngl.
1:31 WHAT?!?!?!
I HAD TO GET UP AND CRY LAUGHING ON MY DOOR FRAME 3 MINUTES IN CAUSE WHAT 😭😭😭
This ship means a lot to me honestly. It’s a comfort ship, as someone with generalized anxiety disorder I’ve always really related to Tweek and just love the way Craig helps him overcome his anxiety and paranoia
the problem with most modern black shows is this, they constantly degrade different races and always portray themselves as the soul victim in history. Even in real life lots of Black people think they are entitled to stuff because of stuff that happened hundreds of year ago that has no mental or physical affect on them. I'm White I go to a majority black school and I am a National Socialist, ironic right? but the black students are constantly racist towards each other, always making fun of each other and calling each other slurs, they play it off as a joke and seem to think because they are black and "Joking" they can say it with no problem, but the moment I or another white kid says something that sounds racist towards them its an issue, i dont care about the history, if you dont want to be called a word dont say said word in the first place or keep it to yourself and not publicly call people it.
The concept of, “white fragility.” Is a symptom of black fragility.
I just want to complain that in the exhibition explaining yaoi they chose to put the japanese caracters in the ugliest font, worse than comics sans because at least comics sans was made so it was easy to read, this is torture, and they could have written yaoi, but instead they wrote "boys love" with japanese characters and "yaoi" with english characters I'm just in so much pain
Worse than Comic Sans?! Legendary
Turning a joke into both a meaningful commentary on fandom culture and a sweet background relationship that isn't made a big deal is not only perfect, but it's exactly what I'd expect out of a satire show like South Park.
MHA shippers in a nutshell.
I think there’s a lot 2 talk about with this video. I feel maybe there was questioning on “inorganic” love but I think it’s special. Initially feeling obligated 2 love brings true love out. & I think maybe that’s a rlly beautiful headcanon 2 have on these characters. Like, oh, these boys r calling themselves gay now bc maybe they’re feeling smth more important than they felt b4. & I can say the same about the creators feeling compelled 2 canonise shipping but ending up loving it. I think “the blindness of shipping culture” isn’t rlly blindness but sometimes a different way of seeing. When ur a writer & feeling like fans don’t deserve control or input in the story, I think that’s actually blindness. Bc of that, I can view this episode knowing it’s making fun of me but also knowing I’m ultimately right.
I love that the creators grew 2 love the ship sm they earnestly became the joke they initially made. They were like, “isn’t it amusing putting ppl 2gether even if it doesn’t make sense.” Then afterward they were like, “oh wait, it actually is.” The creators grew 2 love smth that felt obligatory just like tweek&craig. Life imitates art ✨ I think this is a huge example of how artistically successful it is 2 go along with fandom headcanons or recognise fandom culture. Not only connecting artist with audience but also opens up very good stories.
4:16 i hear slay helpz
This “slaves built this country” is racist ignoring the indigenous people inhabiting it beforehand. Black people are already free, and living a life that whites are. Native Americans are in small numbers and never cared about in media, their culture ravished. They need the REAL reperations.
Oh yeah Whites are so fragile, says the tribes who got conquered by us.
1:24 "Model minority myth" Nigga ain't no kid talking like that unless their parents brain is politically rotten or if the kids use twitter.
5:03 that's diabolical 😭
Fight Club coded edit
Their current relationship gives me "work wife" vibes. More than friends, but not romantic.
By claiming that white people are impervious and invulnerable to being judged by their skin color and that they are immune from feeling powerless. Wouldn't that be like thinking they have some sort of supremacy and they are above the rest of the other races?🤨
WHATTTTT 😭😭😭😭
I basically cry to myself at night hating myself because I’m a white girl. It’s one of my insecurities. Almost everyone in my grade is black, and I feel so left out, you know that feeling?

11:29 ah yes, tiktok. where depression means "I am feeling very down during this period after being triggered by Billie Eilish, nobody talk to me" You wanna know what actual diagnosed depression looks like? A forced blank state of mind and will. Your body can hardly activate to do anything, and on the best scenario it enters survival mode to get you to work or studies to force you into life, and even then you are like a walking zombie. You can feel literally nothing, as your organism blocks any pain that caused it and along the way blocked everything else as well. Your immune system goes haywire, it is hard to to anything, everything loses its meaning, and no matter how many people support you you feel the peaks of loneliness. Your mind is over stacked by all the thoughts you never spit out (it would be meaningless to do so) to the borders of insanity, and there seems to be no way of escape from the incoming insanity. Depression ain't no child's play.
Do you remember that whole era of MySpace/Tumblr where faking depression was particularly cool? Again none of it being faked in the very real way you describe ofc haha By its nature it's just not a cute quirky spectacle to watch - you put it well!
I have very small tics and everybody just looks at me crazy when they happen they think I’m faking because of all the fakers so it’s just really hard I have to try my best to suppress them and it’s a pain in my ass when they happen because of it It’s embarrassing as fuck.
I've heard suppressing it can even become painful. I bet it's just double frustrating to have this all trivialised by fakers 😬
Pretty fun video
Ayy thank you!!
Cartman😭🙏
5:58 I love this scene 😂😂😂 Makes you wonder “what the hell’s going on behind-the-scenes at NBC?”
No, no, Cartman is WORSE than an egomaniac. He's a NARCISSIST!
Now Cartman has his own form of Tourette's Syndrome where he can't help but blurt out his most personal secrets. Bad karma indeed!
This episode is called Le Petit Tourette, Season 11 Episode 8 of South Park
@@UNAVAILABLE231 I know that. It's a pun on how "Tourette" is a French last name, as Tourette's Syndrome is named after the person who discovered the disorder, it's that French' person's last name, as "petit" (silent t at the end) is the masculine French word for "small" or "little" with "le" (pronounced as "luh" like "uh" in French) means "the", so the episode literally translates to: "The Small Tourette" or "The Little Tourette".
@@UNAVAILABLE231 I already remembered the name of the episode, thank you.
@@UNAVAILABLE231 Yes, I've already seen the episode before, and I am impressed by it while also finding it extremely funny.
Craig's jealousy/envy is so visible in this episode! 😂🤣
I think Toy Safari is supposed to be the _South Park_ universe parody of Toys 'R' Us, right?
There is a real Toy Safari! Go look it up!
And Craig developed a crush on Thomas solely based on Thomas's ability to get away to blurting out obscenities without getting into any trouble for it. Don't forget that!
Thomas. The kid from the store's name is Thomas.
Hope you make an episode on Helluva Boss "Ghostf**kers" and how it saved Millie's character
9:40 is this not just a colorblind way of looking at it? When a black person does something racist, the show's logic is to remove race from the equation and boil it down to "just being a jerk"? Colorblind racism is a form of racism. It's ignoring race entirely so that you dont have to label racism as racism.
i wonder how many of the creek shippers were kids themselves, because i was like, 11 when i first started seeing creek stuff? then i started shipping it lmao
....I thought they are 12. Why is there yaoi of kids. Guys that's crazy
people where kids when they shipped them
@mcbuttons i doubt everyone was kids
A lot of people will also draw aged up versions of the characters, can't speak for all of them though
It's smart move to canonize the relationship, it lets the theme of 'the kids are acting like the parents (and vice versa)' happen with a healthy relationship. While the main group of boys (and Randy) can have their dysfunctional relationship story lines. Nothing wrong with intense bro-mance.
I appreciate the music choice for when Cartman is exploring his “Crimson Behelit”
I hate this sentence Thank you
An aesthetic preference for light skin tones has developed universally in almost all cultures independently from each other. The truth nobody wants to talk about is that skin pigmentation and IQ are negatively correlated. This is not just true between races, but also within races and--get this-- within families. Why those genes are statistically connected, nobody knows (although there are some valid theories), but it's statistical truth. And now please don't make the argument that theres some hyperintelligent dark skinned person. Read up on what a statistical correlation is, if that comes to your mind.
Wish cartmen got punished for this
DO SOMETHING WITH YOUR WHITE PRIVILEGE🔥🔥🔥🗣🗣🗣⁉️⁉️⁉️
another great video, hope it hits the algorithm truff
Thank you! Hope so too man 🫡 Have a great weekend!
This show gave me hepatitis
You know its a good vid when the Simpsons Hit and Run music comes out
My only issue with this episode is that the kid with tourettes we see never really shows up again after this. It really does feel like he was created just for this message instead of being allowed to be his own person and go on his own adventures in other episodes, which I find rather hypocritical.
I feel like the creators just forgot about him more of as they’ve created a million characters
Definitely a gimmick character. I think if I had nothing else to say with this character though, not using him again is fine - they didn't happen to have a character with Tourette’s already, otherwise they'd have probably used them.
Forgot to include all the DID fakers
Truffs never misses
