Hi Donny would you have a clutch cover for a 288. Not sure if you sale parts or not ?
Thank you great video.
Donny how do I get my 400c on your bench?
Will definitely try one of these out when i get a saw. Such an affordable price too
I'm working on a 7310 that a customer messed with the carb screws. What is the factory settings?
Good info Donnie. . I gave a question? Im looking at a 394xp low hours runs and looks great. My question is ut has a sticker on the top cover that says it is an EPA saw did the 394 come as a non EPA if so whats the difference power wise. Thanks in advance going to look at this Saturday 12/20/24
Donny i know your a busy man , I'd like your honest opinion on that big bore cylinder kit for the 390 before i spend $150 for it , id rather spend the money on a oem 385 cylinder and pay you to port it . Thanks .
I have two 385 xp , ill put up again the 390 any day, my first 385 never had any issues with ever , my new 2013 390 crank bearings failed in 4 months, i bought my 385 in 2002 and i logged with it for 6 years and never had any issues other that normal maintenance !!!
Donny the 385 xp is my favorite saw period !! Love them saws , i wish Husqvarna would have never did away with them , id take one good ported 385 over ten of any of the new saws hands down !!
Hey Donny I was going to buy one of the big bore hyway kits for the 390 xp but not sure if it's a smart idea ! Wut do you think ?
Is there any difference in power or throttle response between the carb or M-tronic 462?
Donnie looking just like yoda with that headlamp pushing his ears down like that! Lol Yoda Walker
Thank you Donnie, from thoreau nm, I think you addressed our conversation we had the other night why my big bore hwy kit failed on my Stihl 044
Merry Christmas 🎄
❤Canada, ❤Canadians. No apologies needed.
I’m new to the channel and on the east coast. Nova Scotia. Are all those saws to be sent out been ported and polished? Not a big practice here I’m thinking. How much power increase does one get by doing that?
Fascinating ,, the difference between what a guy needs to make a living, and what other folks build up for fun and experiment. When you get paid on cut out, the world changes. Your equipment must work, be reliable and easy to maintain. If I missed a day's work, that was half the price of a new saw. Gyppos have a spare powerhead in the truck, spare everything actually ,,, my 2100's never let me down.
Yes for sure keep the 2100 going love them
If Yan can cook...so can you!
Yes🫕
Great commentary, Donny! I gave up on the online chainsaw forums for exactly the reasons you cited.
Thanks bud I want to talk to you I’m going to doc today I will try you later
Really enjoy all the shop talk dw.. husky guy myself, never done me wrong. Been cutting big red oak. Putting edge on my 390xp right now 👊
Thanks go cutting bud
To balance it right u have to take rod off crank and hang bobweights the same weight as ur piston +pin+rings+clips, and then spin on a machine
Yes there’s the pro way for sure or redneck way eh
@donnywalker4691 love the videos, and thanks 4 the stories of builds!!!!
Red light tuning lean out and half turn more I use a quarter turn I still have mine used it yesterday to cut eucalyptus firewood
Good info. Twas an interesting video
@DonnyWalker How do you balance crankshafts and what tools are needed and used for crankshaft balancing ?
Interesting, thanks Donny.
@DonnyWalker Is there any Chainsaw Performance Porting literature or manuals or books that you recommend that I can read or purchase ??? FYI; I am still interested in getting a copy of your racing chain blueprint from your dad and can you right your autograph on the copy so I can hang it up in my office Thanks and Sincerely Corbett Abbott
Will let ya know thanks
Always learning something from you!
Thanks more to come
It's always 4:20 in British Columbia

Loving the tech talk keep it coming
Thanks
Thank you for the education 👍
Edutainment! 😁
😊😊HI DONNY they are called DECALS they the name brand and model of the chainsaw and the info when U look it up how many CCS the chainsaw is that would give U the HP class 😊😊 OMG 12 17 2O24
A great spot to test some saws. Just kidding.
Great info as usual! What model headlamp do you use?
I did the 390 big bore, made a significant increase compared to stock cylinder, ur gonna have to grind the cases so the piston will fit, not a lot but still gotta do it, good luck cant wait to see the results
Hey thanks
You think it's about 4:20? I have a feeling you know.
That could be my 395? lol I got excited building my first saw but if I was to do it again I would probably go standard size it's a saw I won't use much as well
I will see if it’s yours 👍
good to see you walking
Thanks it’s a good feeling
Good on ya m8
I love it when you are in to an old saw because you also throw in some old stories in a round about way about loggers and such.
The plunger is just a pump. It will squirt fuel right at the butterfly. They will sometimes leak fuel at the plunger when they go bad. I had one leak and I put a gasket over holes and blocked it off and just squirt fuel with a bottle. I still have a few that work and it will crank saws up pretty good.
I know on some of those electrical timing units on the 125c you need to wire them backwards to work correctly as i have mine, they work great. Also for the 3 piece clutch they must have 2 different options for the spring because the one the book says to use is different from the broken one i took off unless someone put a different clutch on my 125. I absolutely love that saw. WA State
Love the ol saw content sir
Cool old saw! I’d like to get my hands on one of those a big ole Macs!
Looks like the choke maybe is a manual impulse to prime up the carb…?
Awesome!!!!
This is great, Donny! I have a 797 on a shelf in the barn. You are motivating me to dust it off!!!
Good to see you on the yellow power heads. Buckin loves thise A. Great to see you doing g your thing. I was born in 69
That's gonna make an amazing saw, Donny!!! The older I get, the more I keep thinking about smaller saws that are easier to handle!
Hi great video would love to see points timing been demonstrated that you were talking about at beginning of video keep up the good work
I believe Old Saw Shop has carb kits for these as well as other parts for old Macs and other old saws.
