Question for you, I have no where else I can think of to go for the answer. Have a bone stock 461 I just acquired and need advice on how to tune it for 7000+ ft of elevation use consistently. I live at this elevation and work here or higher only.
.. Hey Donnie!.. Im Ben's friend on the east coast!.. thank you sooo much for doin this for me n all your followers!!! it's getting brrrr cold here in Nova Scotia.. I'm gonna go with a straight continuety test like you did n see what i find 🤘🏻
Donny very interesting show you answered all my questions why I can't buy a stihl in Australia with heated hand grips in Australia it doesn't get cold enough Cheers Donny 👍
Mostly it is the cables that are old, defective that make a G system not work. However, I quite often find generator faults. It's a fix I do when it's the fault, and it saves a lot of money as a generator is expensive. So far I have repaired 20+ generators and have experienced 2 defective ones to the garbage can. Originally, the cable is fixed inside the generator with a clamping sleeve from the cable to the generator itself, quite often moisture sneaks in when the cable has some defects and causes the clamping sleeve to become irritated so that the connection is broken. The fix is to dremmel until I get to the clamp sleeve, I always choose to solder on a new wire, and then epoxy glue until I have shaped the fix roughly like the plastic is original. 0.6 to 0.8-9 ohms is normal resistance in the generator.
Thanks for the video. I have a 562 XPG that I need to figure out why it won't heat up. I printed off the shop manual section but haven't really checked it out yet. I truly suspect I am the culprit for it not working. I had to perform a really thorough cleaning after hitting a pocket of powdery decayed wood.
Does somebody know if there is a heated full wrap handle for the 500i out there? I’m from Germany and got the heated version but with a half wrap (we can’t buy full wraps over here). Thank you in advance 🙏
@ so what you’re saying is, not even in the States or Canada they have a heated full wrap? If that’s the case, i got a couple of additional questions. Can I fit a regular full wrap on my saw by only cutting the cables that go to the wrap handle and leave the heating element in the back intact? Or do i need to eliminate the whole heating mechanism? A good friend of mine is working in the States and he is coming home before Christmas. He could order the handle for me and move it over to Germany. Since I have trouble finding a place I can buy an OEM full wrap for my 500i, I would really appreciate it if you could send me a Website/Link where I can order one. Thank you so much, Sir!
@@stevieshadyyes none in Canada or USA but if a person had a half wrap heated you might be able to cut the rubber off the half wrap and remove elements and glue it on oem full wrap then put shrink wrap and hockey tape for the right thickness
@@donnywalker4691this exactly what I did with my 357XPG full wrap because it is not available anymore. Donor saw was old beat up 346XPG. As far asI know all 3 series saws with heated grips had same heater elements, so same voltage and same ohms. Check these values from Workshop Manual before frying electrical parts (expensive).
Are full wrap handles banned for some reason or by law? Those are available in other European countries as spareparts, I ordered mine from Netherlands.
Hay donny if I was buying spare fuel lines for my 372 x torque to have in stock is there any better brands than genuine husqvarna? I like to be stocked up on these things . Thanks in advance
I will do another video showing the voltage and ohms it should be putting out
.. I read 10 to 15 volts AC when I tryed my bosses 372 yesterday... my meter read - 4v when set on DC

I do not know about the current models, but the crappy wire insulation they used was a big problem.
