Base Jiraiya couldn't take Itachi and Kisame is obvious but I feel like sage mode with toads wins. Itatchi's biggest strength , genjutsu, is rendered useless and Kisame doesn't have an answer for Jiraiyas own toad genjutsu. From there if Itachi busts out susano it's just a matter of Jiraiya stalling for time until Itachi's notoriously low stamina/ "chakra disease" makes his susano expire. As long as he dodges the Sword of Totsuka Jiraiya wins. I think Kishimoto knew Itachi was going to be working for the leaf all along , I think sage mode is the retcon. I also think there's hints that point at Jiraiya knew the truth of Itatchi and they were both in on breaking that fight off

I just want a fan animation series of Naruto where they focus a lot on wasted characters along exploring more of their abilities and explore on the tenseigan of byakugan evolution.

I was always under the impression (at least when watching the anime) that Itachi’s entire hanging arm scene wasn’t because of his sleeve but because of his stamina. Or his need to not exert anymore unnecessary energy or stamina. That of course was never confirmed in of itself but the data books listing of Itachi, shows him as having less than optimal stamina out of all his capabilities. So that’s was we always assumed.

One misconception I hate is that people actually think that itachi could beat obito. I think Swagkage already made a few statements about this tho

Fun fact every last 9 akatsuki died because of love. Sasori - parents, Hidan - religion, Kakuzu - money, Deidara - art, Nagato - peace, Konan - friends, Itachi - Sasuke, Kisame - recognition, Tobi - dreams. Akatsuki = where a bunch of actually good guys went ballistic because of different meaning in their life perception. Except Hidan and Kakuzu, they both are evil in the eyes of good guys. But tbf, they are actually good guys, in their respective manner.
