Amazing skills :)
Beautiful Spoon 👍👏👏👏🇧🇷
Is this guy losing it? I don't hear anyone telling jokes
First
Vsause but a Viking
When u miss your wifey
They say he carved it himself.... from an even bigger spoon.
Love the Simpsons' reference.
"Can anyone define the word 'precision'?" *links this video*
You're too kind!
wwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww
侘び寂び
You are very talented
Thank you!
Ten pán musel vyhrát mistrovství Evropy v trpělivosti!! A manželka ji pak šoupne do myčky a veškerá práce je v prdeli!!😒
Such skill, I want to start doing this!
It's fun, you should give it a try
My word that is amazing!
Thanks!
Damn. Talk about precision ax chopping. Incredible work, well done. Making things by hand with your own skills is slowly but surely becoming a lost art when we can just by a plastic piece of shit for 3 dollars. 🙄
A whole tree was sacrificed to make this spatula 😮
And here boys, we have what we called in our days, a Mothers Day present
Be safe. Let the tools do the work and keep them sharp!
Very nice. I like the Adam Hawkeresque finial. 👍👍
Thanks! 👍
Easy Peasy…..😅haha I start with a big spoon and end up with a delightful little salt spoon. One day I’ll get it.
As one who is just getting into the whole wood carving and especially green wood I'm encouraged to see what can be done with less wood. I understand the concept of having enough to put a comfortable crank in the spoon. My wife on the other hand sees the waste of traditional carving. So, I will be showing her this video. Cheers!
Using a shotgun to open a window.
Great skills!👍
Thanks 👍
Great job! Cheers!👍
Thank you! 👍
The masculine urge to carve a spoon out of wood is strong.
Everybody says you shouldn't sand your spoons. I sanded my first two spoons and will probably carry on doing it.
Do whatever works for you.
Amazing skills! How dry is the birch?
This birch wasn't 100% dry but it wasn't super green either.
I've heard of two of them. Never heard of the Osbourne guy.
They passed away a few years ago unfortunately.
Looks a little nervous and wide-eyed...
Me, or the dog?
Amazing! What hatchet is that? Its a beaut.

How important is it to bend the billet before carving?
If you're going to steam bend, I've had more success bending the full billet than a carved spoon, but feel free to experiment.
@@SylvaSpoonvideos with my little clothes steamer and steamer box I couldn't get the billets too bend at all, however the wood I used was bone dry to start. I was able to successfully bend the carved spatula, though I broke a few before getting my pressure just right. Turned out beautiful but no one bought it so I gave it to my grandma as a gift.
Could i use raw bees wax melted down for carved wooden spoons?
I wouldn't recommend it, just because of beeswax's low melting point. It'll melt off in most hot food.
Aww best helper.. ❤
That’s awesome! I just got a carving set for Christmas and I was making a spoon and I nailed my finger and cut it pretty good😅 have you ever cut your self pretty good?
Sure have!
That is amazing work with the hatchet!!!!!
Thank you very much!
@SylvaSpoonvideos im going to watch as much as i can here...amazing work
*moments earlier* Do you like Huey Lewis and the News? Their early work was a little too....New Wave for my taste. When "Sports" came out in 83', I think they really came into their own, commercially and artistically. The whole album has a 'cool, crisp' sound and a new sheen of consummate professionalism that really gives the songs a big boost. He's been compared to Elvis Costello, but I think Huey has a far more bitter, cynical sense of humor.... Maple Log: "Is that a raincoat?" Yes, it is. In 1987 Huey released this, Fore!, their most accomplished album. I think I heir undisputed masterpiece is “HiP To Be Square,” a song so catchy that most people probably don’t listen to the lyrics. But they should because it’s not just about the pleasures of conformity and the importance of trends. It’s al~ a personal statement about the band itself. Hey Maple? (Splinters fly as the hatchet falls onto the unsuspecting log)
What kind of wood is that
Awesome 😎 👍
Thank you for sharing this video of the parts of the axe. By knowing the details and functions it encourages me to have a deeper respect of my axe and hatchet. Thank you for your clear presentation. Blessings
Thanks for sharing 😊 take care
Very nice. Thanks for sharing 😊
I feel like that would be a recipe for splitting the grain on the edge of the spoon. All that hard work, *poof*
Noice
Chatoyancy 💓✨️ THAT is a BEAUTIFUL spoon!
What kind of vise is that, cool
The wood shaving sticking to his beard are so funny.
Will oak ash maple apple cherry trees work? For making wood utensils like butter knives wood and Woden spellias and spoons
Any of those will work. Personally I don't use oak. It's ring porous, so has quite big pores, which tend to absorb liquids. But if you seal the wood it's not a problem.
Joy to watch your ax work 🙌🏼
Thanks! I enjoy doing it :)
Lol,why? This Tiny shaping Is better with sandpaper, you making all spoon 9nly with knife? Without sandpaper?,when you like /love it ,i get it 👍🎃🎉 Věry nice knife control
Yup, I'm doing everything with just tools, no sandpaper. For a few reasons, 1) I don't enjoy sanding 2) I can get a smooth finish with just sharp tools and 3) with tools you can create crisp lines, sandpaper rounds everything, which can look nice and soft, if that's the look you're going for.
Very nice! Good to see axeing out over and over for refresher.
Practice makes perfect!
