Sounds like birch Tom?? Maple maybe?
Good ear, it's maple.
❤
I like you sweat-shirt , im from Québec a province in Canada , french part , excuse my english
What brand of knives do you use?
A mix, stuff from Nic Westermann, Morakniv, Hans Karlsson, Julia Kalthoff.
@ Sounds like a nice collection. As far as carving and whittling knives I’ve got some Morakniv, Beavercraft, and Flexcut. Bespoke tools are something I aspire to own. Btw, I love your work.
I'm jealous.
I’d dearly love to dress like this all the time. Sadly in my neck of the woods, you’d be heckled, harassed and probably bashed by an extraordinary plethora of lads, chavs, smackheads and winos. I hope your neighbourhood is friendlier?
super
This kind of precision is an instant instant subscribe. good job
Good vid brotha
Still searching for the control to produce those long shavings. Great inspiration, thanks.
My wife ADORES cherry blossom trees, I’d love to learn how to carve wood so I could make us matching cherry wood love spoons!
Fantastic precision!
Amazing control! That little corkscrew shaving speaks volumes of the hours spent carving!
why no more videos ?
I switched jobs. I work full-time at Sharpening Supplies now. I want to make more spoon videos, but right now I'm struggling to find the time. I really appreciate the comment, helps me realize people do want more spoon carving videos.
@@SylvaSpoonvideos oh im glad u doing fine and everything else , life is life so take care, but i did like a lot your videos !
I didn't watch the entire video because the loud music drove me bonkers. Put yourself in the shoes of the viewers.
Outstanding video
ty❤
Excellent
I would have cut myself 30 times trying to do this. I was cutting leather to make my uncle a holster and I sliced into my palm so bad my thumb will only curl half way…
What brand of axe is that ?
It's from Kalthoff Axes
Hello Sylva! Do you make them for sell ?
I used to, but haven't for a while. If you're interested Woodspirit Handcraft makes similar mugs (Jarrod taught me how to make these!).
@@SylvaSpoonvideos Hello Sylva! I’ll try searching for the wood spirit one ! Thanks for the reply , cheers from Japan !
Thanks Sylvia for this video !!! This vídeo is so satisfying ❤️ Do you give carving courses ? Btw what axe are you using ?
I don't have any classes scheduled right now. The axe is made by Julia Kalthoff.
@@SylvaSpoonvideos thanks a lot Sylva✨🙌🏼
nice
Thanks
Cool
Thanks!
Is the bevel on your axe flat or hollow ground? Thanks.
Flat over a hollow.
Amazing skills :)
Thanks!
Beautiful Spoon 👍👏👏👏🇧🇷
Thank you very much!
Is this guy losing it? I don't hear anyone telling jokes
First
Vsause but a Viking
When u miss your wifey
They say he carved it himself.... from an even bigger spoon.
Love the Simpsons' reference.
"Can anyone define the word 'precision'?" *links this video*
You're too kind!
wwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww
侘び寂び
You are very talented
Thank you!
Beautifull spoon!
Ten pán musel vyhrát mistrovství Evropy v trpělivosti!! A manželka ji pak šoupne do myčky a veškerá práce je v prdeli!!😒
My word that is amazing!
Thanks!
Damn. Talk about precision ax chopping. Incredible work, well done. Making things by hand with your own skills is slowly but surely becoming a lost art when we can just by a plastic piece of shit for 3 dollars. 🙄
A whole tree was sacrificed to make this spatula 😮
And here boys, we have what we called in our days, a Mothers Day present
Be safe. Let the tools do the work and keep them sharp!
Very nice. I like the Adam Hawkeresque finial. 👍👍
Thanks! 👍
Easy Peasy…..😅haha I start with a big spoon and end up with a delightful little salt spoon. One day I’ll get it.
As one who is just getting into the whole wood carving and especially green wood I'm encouraged to see what can be done with less wood. I understand the concept of having enough to put a comfortable crank in the spoon. My wife on the other hand sees the waste of traditional carving. So, I will be showing her this video. Cheers!
Using a shotgun to open a window.
Great skills!👍
Thanks 👍
Great job! Cheers!👍
Thank you! 👍
The masculine urge to carve a spoon out of wood is strong.
Doing it irl feels even better
Everybody says you shouldn't sand your spoons. I sanded my first two spoons and will probably carry on doing it.
Do whatever works for you.
