Well done, thank you! I've been considering steam bending in order to obtain a sharper cantilever on spoon handles as you have on your spatulas. Can you suggest a particular video on building a steam box?
@@SylvaSpoonvideos with my little clothes steamer and steamer box I couldn't get the billets too bend at all, however the wood I used was bone dry to start. I was able to successfully bend the carved spatula, though I broke a few before getting my pressure just right. Turned out beautiful but no one bought it so I gave it to my grandma as a gift.
Your no nonsense intro made me laugh. Great video.
Perfect timing, I found a spatula yesterday, that I made last year and put aside to bend.
Perfect!
great video, thanks
Glad you liked it!
Nice. This is an actual topic for me as I’m building a chair right now an need to bend a backrest. 👌👍
Glad it was helpful!
Very nice video. Makes me want to give this a try. I like your process.
Go for it!
Good enough thankyou so much
You're most welcome
Would there be any difficulties/ challenges with cutting out the form of the spatula before steaming? Would it still work? Is it more likely to break?

I just winged it with the box and did a kind of bad job. Should have probably followed an instructional video myself!
How important is it to bend the billet before carving?
If you're going to steam bend, I've had more success bending the full billet than a carved spoon, but feel free to experiment.
