What tooling (cutter) are you going to use? Other boring bars I have seen... the hole thru the bar is offset so that the cutting edge of the cutter is centered on the bar... so others milled a flat face first, then drilled the thru- hole offset for the tool to go in bar... that puts the cutting edge of the tool in the correct geometry to cut the inside surface of your hole as it rotates...

Put some .045 dual shield in that wire feeder. Run 24volts constant voltage with straight co2. You’ll never grab a 7018 rod again. Turns a day long job into a half day job and it will look 100 times better. I have a crane on my truck. I dangle the wire driver from the hook and put it above the work. If you are welding anything over 1/4” nothing beats it.

Can you connect a 4 prong to a 3 prong extension cord to connect a 220 MiG welder From that 240 outlet ? And if so can you do a video showing it ?

I’ve got questions for you. I’m in upstate New York and trying to figure mobile welding business stuff out. I’ve got a used miller bobcat 250 EFI on my truck. Should I just use a mig for the day to day stuff? I lost my job and trying to start where I’m at.

Very nice job on the skid...Great video. I'm a recently retired Pipeline welder 35yrs, my last rig had the Aluma Reel skid, the large one to hold 2 Oxy and 2 acet since most of the cutting in the field was done from sources on our rigs. I had a Miller pipe pro as my main machine and my trusty Lincoln 300D as my backup at the house. within the past few months I have been able to sell just about everything I had only to realize last week that I wanted to be able to do little projects of my own at home and had no more machines to do so. I just actually bought the new Trailblazer 330 EFI with awesome remote at a local weld supply near me to fulfill my empty feeling of not being able to do projects for myself, I can't really say I miss the work but do still love watching videos with young enthusiastic tradesman doing well in a not so easy business!

I really like my black stallion because it's light and works really well. Just sucks that one tumble will most likely take it out. I do have the 10 foot pipe liners, and it's awesome just kind of heavy and a bit of a pain to set up because I'm short.

Love your videos, its good to see how you keep evolving. There's nothing wrong with the reel that you are using for inert gas it's just a matter of replacing the o-rings with that of a refrigerant design because of the dryness of the gas, but its gonna be ok for a good while.

Derbador good to see a young man trying his best. There are so many worthless panty wastes out there it’s enough to make you puke. So how much weight are you going to rate your pipe boom for? I probably shouldn’t even start this conversation but here it goes. I grew up in a boilermaker family. EVERYBODY in the family was/is proficient in metal fabrication, general engineering, and welding. Also very proficient with Oxy acetylene rigs. We were all too old or passed away to have had plasma cutters at our disposal until the last 15 years or so. Back to the point, I feel concerned for your safety if you plan on loading your pipe boom any more than with 700-800 lbs and that is with no more than 20-25* angle on you boom. assuming you used schedule 40 pipe at the least. I get the cost savings of the pipe over I beam or square tubing but what you lose in carrying capacity and side to side stability far out ways the $ savings in my humble opinion. I wish you would have used a nice piece of 6” x 6” x 3/8” I beam instead. That I beam would have been able to pick four times the weight easily and that's without a strong back on it. Your slit cut for the mounting end of the pipe also is Perty shallow too. Perhaps when you cut your steel component fitment joints you could make your (fitment) joint tolerances tighter. One it would save you the considerable expense of time, cover gas and welding wire not to mention so much heat concentration in critical structural areas when welding out your components. Just a couple of suggestions. When the gods at Lincoln, Miller, etc made wire feed machines they instantly made almost every JOE a... WELDER/FABRICATOR DELUX! Stick with a stick welder or tig rig. When you become proficient with electrode welding and can run verts and overhead welds without any dropouts, suck back, or porosity pockets you can sell your wire feed to the next apenis (apprentice) . I did not mean to pick apart your project or design I just felt concerned for your safety and that of others. Also your reputation. It's nice to see someone who is not afraid to get there hands dirty or try something most people wouldn't dream of doing. Best of luck to you, R. 🇺🇸
