Given the fact I'm hearing your demo on 1" self powered computer speakers the subtle differences you're describing are lost to my hearing experience. I could send the signal to the home setup and see if I can hear any changes but my ears are older not necessarily wiser. Anything above 13,500 Hz is gone with the wind! I did buy the Wiim ZA3 with the 48 Vdc P.S. and use it in mono to power an 8" subwoofer I built. It works beautifully in that function. Nice clean sound class D amp for a great price, so far so good.

I'm using the 2A3's with the Devore 0/96 speakers (sensitivity 96DB/watt). A perfect solution if you don't like horns or single-driver designs. It's hard to believe how loud 3.5 watts can get with the right speaker! (300b's put out twice the output of 2A3's if you need more juice.) I spoke with some tube aficionados and they concur that 2A3's have lower distortion and wider frequency response than comparable 300b's. Not a big difference, but measurable. Note that 2A3's were originally designed for the audio sections of radio sets so sound quality was important, while 300b's were designed to amplify speech over long-distance telephone lines, so long service life was important (the Western Electric 300b's had a service life of 40,000 hours) which accounts for their difference in performance.

I found that my taste changed throughout the demonstration. To my ears: I consistently didn’t care for the JJ. The linlai sounded vanilla across all tracks. RCA was beautiful but lacked weight. I was most intrigued by EH, tungsol, and psvane. I loved EH on the more classical tracks, but found jazzy tracks to be too forward. The tungsols were very similar to the EH but less forward and more consistent liked across genres. The psvane didn’t wow me in any specific way but felt it was the most consistent across genres. I currently have quad psvane UK black plates (I think that is the name) on Schitt freya. I like them a lot but do find that some days they sound glorious and other days just ok. They also perform well across various genres. I think I will pick up some EHs based on this presentation.

Surprisingly I stoped looking and surfed Ali. And the varistion is minute, most likely room SPL might be the main difference.

I added a pair of the V3 monos to my system, replacing the onboard nCore amplification of the device they were attached to. Options under consideration were Eigentacht based amps from VTV or NAD at considerably greater cost, measurements suggesting the V3 mono is on par. Rather than op amps, I've tuned with DSP and am super pleased with the result at a fraction of the cost of alternatives and without the need to crack the case. Out of the box the sound was a bit harsh which is the room/speaker combination at work, now with some measurement and adjustment harshness is tamed, the sound is full and super detailed, plenty of power, a bargain at the price. The Muse02 op amps remain on the desk since DSP is my standard approach for tuning the sound to my preference. For those without DSP or the inclination to adjust the sound in that way, op amps are another way to go and probably easier if less flexible way to modify the sound that's delivered. Either way the analysis and listening tests provided make the point the Fosi V3 mono is extremely capable and worth serious consideration.

I guessed right about which amp was which, but it does also show there are swings and roundabouts between the two. Amp B was more controlled, detailed and dynamic, but a little damped and dry sounding. Amp A was brighter, less controlled but sweeter and more enjoyable. Sometimes the better, more accurate amplifier isn't the preferred choice.

I received my Fosi V3 monos yesterday and plugged it in and was pleasantly surprised, hence I have decided to keep my monoblock tube as reference and use the Fosi on a daily basis. Please note my speakers are 95 db efficient and the preamp pumps out 4.5 volts, so even though I have to crank out the volume ten places higher than normal. But the V3’s got to 90% of my reference system. Worth every dollar, thanks for your recommendation. Please consider comparing Shiit Vidar, to keep within the price range. Thank you.

Thoughts of using a 48volt 100AH (51.2 nominal) server rack battery alone for these type of amps....I have several of these in solar installation....Possibly set 1 aside, separated from the installation and use a limited amp (amp fuse size?) fused power line. I’m not a speaker designer, but don’t understand why the driver are mounted on such wide piece of acrylic. I have to think a narrower acrylic plate would create less diffraction and further open up the sound.
