I don't want to disagree with you, but through my headphones on UA-cam, I heard just the opposite. Amp A had a more open soundstage with a more extended top end, while amp B had the more typical analog sound. Both sounded quite good in depth! Thank you for another good comparison video.
the same impression here, i used a beyerdynamic dt 880 pro headphone, i like the a better, because the soundstage appears wider an the bass deeper and more punchy. especially in the blues track the guitar seemed to be more damped with amp b.

Thank you, BUT PLEASE also demo demanding music, something more than easy listening and sweet music. Something that shows the capability of your set up would be more useful, like piano solo by Prokofiev.... or is the system tuned very soft and thats the way it plays?
I guessed right about which amp was which, but it does also show there are swings and roundabouts between the two. Amp B was more controlled, detailed and dynamic, but a little damped and dry sounding. Amp A was brighter, less controlled but sweeter and more enjoyable. Sometimes the better, more accurate amplifier isn't the preferred choice.

I received my Fosi V3 monos yesterday and plugged it in and was pleasantly surprised, hence I have decided to keep my monoblock tube as reference and use the Fosi on a daily basis. Please note my speakers are 95 db efficient and the preamp pumps out 4.5 volts, so even though I have to crank out the volume ten places higher than normal. But the V3’s got to 90% of my reference system. Worth every dollar, thanks for your recommendation. Please consider comparing Shiit Vidar, to keep within the price range. Thank you.
Hi, i have the Norma IPA-70 (with PMC Twenty5 24 speakers), i am happy, but i would like to make an upgrade. Do you think the IPA-140 is really worth the money ? I also have the Norma CD-Player 1BR, and Gold Note Turntable Pianosa. I really like the "philosophy" of Enrico Rossi. Thank you.
I preferred A for perceived openness and ease-B felt relatively damped and boxed in… Did you prefer either of these to either of the Fosi? I have been deciding between Za3 with sparkos vs v3 with muses02…
Those Fozi amps are great value, I have 2 Za3's but my Exposure 2010s integrated betters them. My NVA Pre and mono blocks absolutely annihilate them. so I would imagine these will also.
@@torus186 never heard of exposure or NVA. I’ve always believed you spend the $$ on the speakers and save on the amp. Honestly I could barely hear the diff between the modded V3, modded Za3 and Canor $10K, Nait $5k, etc. to me it’s all about the speakers. If you can show me your choices are very noticeably better for an extra $1k im ok with it. Still my fave amp was a Jeff Rowland #1 I had 20 years ago… and I also like Nelson Pass’ Firstwatt F5 I had for a bit-very nice. 🤣🤣 I see these Norma are massively expensive🤣 ok forget that! I’m spending the money on the speakers…
I wish you could suggest a full featured amp that sounds better than the Fosi and doesn't cost a fortune. Even the IPA80 is expensive by most people's standards.

It would be nice to compare Norma Audio IPA-80 vs Soulnote A1. Very similar power and price range.

I own the 140 and I am very very happy with it.
All the amplifiers by Engineer Enrico Rossi are spectacular, none excluded but if I have to express a slight preference ... IPA140
