    hello! greetings from Hungary and bunny girl Daisy (mini Rex breed)☺ we have Daisy for a few months now and I already watched most of your videos- all amazing and very usefull! thank you! 😊 we having few worries- first one that in the shop where we got her they couldnt tell exact date of birth so we just guessing her age - we did go to vet to get first vaccine and vet said she might be around 3 months...so we ''celebrated'' her 3 months a week ago 😊 but like +- week ago she started spraying her pee 😔 and I found info that bunnies start spraying from 4th month...is there anyhow to check to know exact age of hers...because vet said that spaying can be done when she will be 6 months old - so for 2 months she will keep spraying the urine? 😟 and from the day she got home she start using her litter box and she was ok for a month or so but now she is peeing time to time on the carpet, in place where she is sleeping...on the sofa....( so we following your steps from video about litter training) and is it true that femail become mature already in 4th month- so what is about the waiting until 6 month? your advise is much appreciated! ❤

      Try different foods. All animals have their own preferences. We tend to just use their regular nuggets. If, however, your rabbit is refusing a food they normally love then this is a health concern and you'll need to see your vet straight away. It is very dangerous for your rabbit if they are refusing food because their gut needs to always be in motion.

    You said at the end of your video to ask any questions so 🤞🏻 I'm really at a loss about my little boy bunny. I've had him just over a year and I got him at about 4 months. He's been neutered and he was very quick with toilet training. There was some nipping at first but he seemed to grow out of it and he's a very cuddly bunny (when it's on his terms of course). But in the last two or so months, without any change to his environment or lifestyle that I can tell, he's started biting, like drawing blood biting. There doesn't seem to be a pattern as to when or why. Once was in the morning, he was foraging for his breakfast while I cleaned his toilet, he hopped over and booped me with his nose so I went to give him a little ear rub and chomp. Another time I was lying on the floor and hed hopped over for snuggles, I was massaging his cheeks which is his favourite and he was grinding his teeth. He started fidgeting so I assumed the cuddles were finished and went to pull back and chomp. The last most recent time he'd been in a funny mood all day chasing me, booping, then shying away from any interaction so I thought to give him space and sat up on the sofa. He jumped up and was booping and then chomp through the jeans. I feel like there's something he's trying to communicate but I just don't understand. I thought we built trust and he was happy so it's really upsetting he's doing this. I've tried to reach out to some really respected and knowledgeable bunny influencers with no luck. I love my little boy and I just want to understand what's going on so really hoping someone might understand or can offer suggestions.

      @TheBunniesBrigade 10 днів тому

      Hey! Sadly, this is where UA-cam has its limitations. It's very difficult for me to diagnose when I'm not able to see your set up or witness the interactions for myself. Has he had a check up at the vet recently? It could be a health issue, maybe he's feeling some kind of pain, an issue with his vision or hearing that might be causing him to get a bit jumpy. He may just be particularly sensitive to any little movements out of his eye-line. The nip when you were cleaning could have been because he felt overwhelmed with you messing around in his space. Does he have a pen or is he free roam? A pen can sometimes contribute to more territorial behaviour. He might be overstimulated, have you noticed if it's happening at a particular time of day? Does he have enrichment - a dig box, puzzle toys, logs to chew etc.? Making sure he has one or more of these when he's feeling active will help redirect hyperactivity. Also consider any scents you might have had on you when these events occurred. Have you been in contact with any other rabbits or animals? What were you doing that day? Had you been out of the house at all? I've heard of some cases where certain smells can cause a rabbit to react.

      Most rabbits don't like being carried because they are prey animals and being picked up is very scary from their perspective. If can train him to get inside his carrier on his own. Check out our video on place training to learn how: ua-cam.com/video/ZN9JlKoGp-I/v-deo.html

    My rabbits are new to me but are 5+ years old and they thumped at me when I used the clicker. I know they had trauma from dogs barking at them for the past five years at their previous foster care. So they are very very skittish anyways. How do I get them used to the clicker sound?

    • @TheBunniesBrigade
      @TheBunniesBrigade 10 днів тому

      You can muffle the clicker with a towel so it's not so scary. You can also get clickers that are just quieter - this PetSafe clicker actually has a very soft sound: amzn.to/3XMPdNP Alternatively you can just use a word, like "Yes!", if you like. But you have to keep it consistent and say it the same way every single time, just as the clicker produces the same sound every time.

      Clicker training foundation is exactly the same, regardless of age. The first rabbit I taught was in her senior years. She loved it so much she would sometimes steal the clicker and run around with it 😅. Both Pepper and Wally are now also well over 5 years old 🙂

    we got our Ash from a rescue. He is skittish, but loves being petted now. sometimes. :) however before we took him the rescue lady trimmed his nails for us and said we could bring him back to have it done every few months. She DID lay him on his back for this process. Is there a better way? can you show me how to trim his nails so I don't have to truck him to her to have it done, and apparently stress him out further by laying him on his back to do it? Is there a way? thanks in advance for any help on this!

    • @TheBunniesBrigade
      @TheBunniesBrigade 10 днів тому

      Wrap him in a towel in trim his nails - what's referred to as a bunny burrito. This way you can keep him upright and he will be secure. Consider clipping one paw or even one nail at a time, rewarding him intermittently. No one should need to trance a rabbit to trim nails. Pepper is the wriggliest rabbit I've ever worked with and it takes time (especially as she has dark nails), but I've never needed to lay her on her back. If you don't feel comfortable doing it yourself look around for someone else who can do it who won't trance. Try another rescue, bunny boarders or an exotics vet.

      Not sure we're understanding your set up - is your bunny housed indoors or outside? And are they free roam or in an enclosure? Rabbits take time to adjust to their new environment and get used to your routine. Provide him with plenty of enrichment to focus this energy elsewhere and help tire them out. I give lots of ideas for enrichment in this video: ua-cam.com/video/lm5AuERta5w/v-deo.html

    • @TheBunniesBrigade

      No at all. Boys can be neutered as soon as their testis drop and so long as they are over a kilo. Girls need to be at least a kilo, but some vets may ask you to wait until they’re 6 months. Speak to your vet to find out what they’re comfortable with.

    Great video thank you so much for the helpful end to my search because I probably like other bunny owner mind you not to mention me sort of being a beginner bunny mama I also have noticed there is hardly nothing labeled for bunnies use such as toy litter boxes etc.. list goes on on …I have found many many things to have to repurpose for my little bun🐰❤

    If they really don’t want to be picked up get on the floor with them to interact they love you more for it.

    Hey I like the inspiration you gave me my rabbits like go to the bathroom every time where the in the house they like they go like they don't in outside they don't do that much when we bring them outside they're very active actually but we have one rabbit that is very lazy inside their cage and all they're not like as big as your bunny rabbits the kind of small I can take a photo and show you but I don't think so that's possible on my phone where do you get the clicker from is it from Amazon or something listen I know this like a very big reward or something I don't know what they say the things that they do we have some potatoes we don't have a lot of items on the Malaysia here the one name is strawberry because it's very small and cute she goes up we have some potatoes on the floor so what she did is she claimed on the potatoes and she pooped on the potatoes we had it was very irritating but yes you might be correct there will be scared of the cricket that might be kind of scared also about the clicker because they're very young age so I think this is a stupid question to askbut do you like take care of the bunnies that we bring or something or you you actually tell us this to bring clicker and all one more problem is we have one more rabbit that is named as blueberry i it is very lazy it does not run around in cage just relaxes in the cage and how so it won't run around that much we don't have a carpet that's it so you can tell me more about the clicker because I think I'll need like two clickers because I don't know if there will behave or not thank you
