Watership Down is hands down my all time favourite novel! I still listen to the audio book from time to time. You can check out the film too but it doesn't give you quite the same perspective as the book. amzn.to/3hToVEX Also, FYI, the recent Netflix series is completely reimagined. It's fun but misses what the original story does so well.
I'm so repressed with the way you have that"inner knowledge " and the connection with these 🐇and all because you see through their soul I have been that way my whole life and unfortunately I have become so depressed with life I've seen how animals are not viewed the way you and I've used them they are prey they are food they are this there that when it's one of them I can look into their eyes and I can feel the pain and fright
First I knew that Watership Down was about rabbits but observing my bun besides him being funny, exasperating and affectionate, I definitely see the princelike quality of him. He may not always pee where he should, but hard to explain but I do see noble behavior!❤
This is an excellent video! Never seen anyone talk of the background of rabbits in comparison to other pet animals! And an even better argument for allowing bunnies to be free!
Excellent! So wonderful to hear this. This is exactly what we want our channel to be doing for people - bringing the things we often overlook to the forefront of discussion 🙂. Thank you for your support!!
Thank you. It makes me so happy to hear people are enjoying it! Six bunnies! That’s awesome. The dream 😅. Isn’t it fascinating how different they all are? They all have different habits, different likes & dislikes, and different ways they express themselves.
I grabbed my entire childhood on the farm where we had at least 12 breeder rabbits in small 15 to 20 ft cages they were breeders only and so those are the only ones we were allowed to get used to all of us children had picked our own favorite on the others were for food we put in at Mama put ads in the paper people called and she would first kill them,, butcher them, pack them in ice and send/mail them to tha customer 😢 traumatized me 😢 Now 50 yrs later I found a beautiful white rabbit out in my yard❤ Caught it and fell so much in love with this gorgeous girl(called her Marilyn caus she had the most beautiful lil black dot right on her top left upper lip❤)
Hello! Great videos :) Could I please ask which pellet food you would recommend? Most readily available for me is Science Select or Burgess, only want the best for my bun! Thanks x
Both are great! I use Science Select, but only because Burgess isn’t available in the US. Back home, I was all about Burgess. A vet recommended it to me way back when and my last bunny was such a princess she would only eat pellets that said they were vet recommended on the bag 😂
@@TheBunniesBrigade That's great to hear, thank you so much for replying, really appreciate it! :) I'm a new bun mum and really enjoying all your content, looking forward to more!
@@TheBunniesBrigade my bunny bonbon is my best friend and learnt so many tricks over the 2 years of having her💕 on her instagram I try my best to spread awareness too! I really appreciate what you do and your rabbits are adorable❤❤
do you have any suggestion for where to get clickers? my bunnies were afraid of the loud noise the clicker from the local pet shop made. in addition, I really need something that makes 5 different noises, as we now have 5 rabbit (all rescues) and I'd like to be able to call only one at a time (they don't respond very well to their names)
That is a very good question! Where are you based? I’ll gladly do a little research for you regards a clicker with multiple sounds. I obviously just have the 2 buns so Wally is 2 clicks and Pepper is 1. I must say it can be very tough training many bunnies at a time because they can easily lose focus. So you might want to separate them to start with. When it comes to the clicker being too loud a simple solution can be to simply wrap it in a small piece of fabric, a handkerchief or wash cloth or something, to muffle the sound. 🙂
@@TheBunniesBrigade thank you. I'm based in Norway, but ordering from websites is no problem. I don't think my bunnies would figure out counting to 5, so I need to find a solution that makes different sounds (or just 5 clickers that sound different)
@@igorjakobsen1694 I think I've found a solution for you! Baby toys! Something like this might be perfect: amzn.to/3p6ZNMQ Although I don't know exactly what the sounds on this are like. But you can always browse through the other toys, see if there's a video so you can hear it. I had a look at baby toy pianos as well but I stumbled on this and thought it was much simpler and a more clicker sort of size. My other idea was phone apps. There are a few different clicker trainer apps for your phone that offer a whole host of different sounds. Maybe check that out, if you haven't already? I do recommend giving them each a separate short training session everyday, so you can have them learn their names on their own. Reward for responding to their names, then you could just use that as a marker instead of a clicker. Assuming they all have very different sounding names of course.
Of course! I am a big advocate of adoption. Both Pepper and Wally are rescues. I have reinforced it in some of my other videos and plan to do a video on the topic in the future. You are absolutely right, it breaks my heart whenever I walk into a shelter and see it so overcrowded, with unbonded rabbits sharing cages even. And that's just the shelters, the rescues are always run off their feet trying to manage everything. For anyone who's reading the comments here - Please please ADOPT, DON'T SHOP! Thank you, Isaiah, for bringing this up.
Also cats and rabbits have been shown to have the SAME energy levels, but rabbits are much more social, which makes it even worse when they're caged, even if they have other bun friends in the cage. basically if you'd think it was cruel to cage your cat, then its far worse for rabbits...... 💔
I couldn't agree more - bunnies never belong in any cage. My bunnies indoor free range bunnies. My babies are Orlando & Bloom. #endthecageage. #adoptdontshop
I love watership down, the author really must have observed bunny behavior well. And wow, you put so much effort into the editing of your videos! Thank you!
Oh, thank you so much! Yay, it hasn’t gone unnoticed! 😅 I like to take my time and produce quality content. Love that you’re a Watership Down fan. I imagine Richard Adams was a very observant and empathetic person to put himself in another animal’s shoes like that. He sadly passed away about 5 years ago 😞
@@TheBunniesBrigade oh no that’s really sad I didn’t know. Wonder if he wrote anything else in the same vein.
