Very interesting, but in your test the 20% difference was reached several times, this means that to break even you need to invest in a higher class CPU or GPU, from Rtx 4070 to 4070 Ti we have 300€ difference, a difference that also applies to the passage from a 5600x to 9800x3d.

Im on 7800xt nitro + with a Phillips 34m2c3500l 3440x1440 180hz Fast VA 0.5ms response time. New 3000 budget line from Phillips. Pretty good screen i come from a TN 280hz full hd panel. I don't notice a difference in response time with my TN so m good. Only bad thing is that they advertise this screen in NL to have 0.03ms while it doesn't. its 0.5 wich is still great for a ultra wide.

Awesome video, thank you!! just the information I was looking for, I've been thinking of switching from 3440x1440 to 5120x2160 and been wondering how much of a impact the resolution switch would be for the two monitors.

Cool thing to realize is that most of us really love multiplayer games (raytracing unnecessary) and don't need our single-player games to have ridiculously high frame rates, but can turn on GPU frame rate boosters if we did. This means AMD's 7900xtx and 7900xt are a great value unless you need (ie intensely want) raytracing combined with the highest framerate and quality for single player games, and that's a very small niche.

Nothing to do with this video, but I thought you might have the answer, or could make a video on it. I recently got an AW3423DWF, and for some reason, when I watch full screen YT videos, the vertical bars on the side of the video aren't black. They're grey or some dark color from somewhere in the video. Some are black though, like all of your videos.

i expected extensive image quality and input lag testing comparisons not fps comparisons which kind of pointless since that will be different for each card while the tech is the same

The one use case that you didn't factor on the 43 are two wide apps, top and bottom. Excel is easier to compare top and bottom than left and right.

7900 XT a good card for 3440 x 1440 60 Hz? I can't afford the 7900 XTX right now, I need a new CPU/Mobo, I can afford 7900 XT + New CPU/MOBO/RAM, versus 7900 XTX. I'm only looking to do 60 Hz

That ray tracing is NOT fair to the 2080 lol, it is on the struggle bus even on RT low.

Uwqhd have 34% more pixels, which would make rendering one frame 34% longer. But for fps drop you need to change relation from 1:1.34 to 0.745:1. Uwqhd should give at average 25.5% less fps counting only pixels. Proof: you have 4 seconds. One monitor can render 1 frame per 1 second, seconds can display 1 frame per 1.33s. after 4 seconds one monitor displayed 4 frames, second displayed 25% less, which is 3 frames. Also having 100% more pixels does not mean 100% less fps. ^^

The true test for me would be lending ultra wide monitors to FPS pros. The extra vision alone would be great, especially for battle royal games, but I’m very worried about the supposed image warping at the edges. Besides that having two monitors where you can game on one and watch something on another screen is very nice. Right now I have a performance monitor and a picture quality monitor. I would love to just have one monitor for convenience sake.

I didnt go ultrawide because the game I play the most (Squad) doesn't support it properly.

100% worthless tests without a proof that dlss/xess upscaling gains are same between 16:9 and 21:9. Demanding games -are- played with upscaling, testing without it is purely academical (like testing shadow of the tomb raider in dx12 which doesn't support mods).

CyberCyberpunk is not "the worst performing" game in your ranking. Linear performance change for Cyberpunk shows how well optimized is this game. Every but of your GPU is used and nothing is wasted. This is not a trival thing to achieve and developers had to put a lot of effort into it.

The performance drop always needs to be considered with how noticeable any benefit is. I like to compare to feeding 1080p to my 60" LG Oled and letting the tv handle the upscaling to 4k. The benefits of a smaller 1440p monitor, regardless if 16:9 or 21:9 are irrelevant. Bigger is better than smaller and Oled is better than LCD. And that's that.

Nice video, I am happy that you and other people can use curved display. I used curved 34 oled for a year, and I had to change. Even after a whole year the 1800R curveture was so annoying. even at work the flat monitors looked so wierd, gave me headaches. I think curved (at least in my case) tricks your brain. When i was gaming for an hour i go out for a minute, my eyes needed to adjust to the world, every single time. When i couldnt tell that my phone screen is straight or not i knew that i had to throw that monitor out :D Almost 2 years now that i am tired of waiting for a 34 oled flat monitor, still nothing so i had to choose another type of display.
