if you sprinkle a litlle bit of salt on the glue the rings don't slide so easy when you clamp them, and it don't effect the quality of the glue

@@RestorationDIY thank you!! I have watched several of your videos. I have never even tried segmented turning. I do a lot of twice turn and inlay with resin or what ever material I have for inlay. and a lot of wood and resin bowls and vases. I joined a group that has several guys that do segmented turns. I may give it a shot one of these years. Just seems like a lot more glue ups. Of course I have done a ton of cutting board with a lot of glue ups so I am not sure why I drag my feet on this type of turning. It may become my favorite new go to! I do like your videos and content you put out and the way you do it step by step and technique. Thank you sir!

Your channel drain in front of the garage is blocked mate.. or it was never connected to drains, having a pebble soak-away under the low end at best. 95% of times it's one or t'other. Before you pay anybody, try this: find the low end with a level, pull the grate off and poke around down the hole with something like a bamboo cane (carefully). If you feel drain pipe under there try rodding and flushing with flexible rods - cheap to hire if you have none. Works every time as long as the blockage isn't 'set' e.g. a cementitious sediment. If there's no pipe, or maybe a short pipe: you've got a soak away and you'll likely need a pro to connect it to the nearest drain. Good luck. Nice pot btw 👍

Good evening. I always follow you, no matter how long a gap between videos and I do like to see ribbons of resin fly off the project over - someone else 😂 I’m sorry to hear about your UA-cam woes and your garage issues resonate as our builder laid the drive higher than the garage. I resolved it by putting a strip of metal across the entrance and I don’t have a drain. You didn’t have much luck with the catches on this piece but it ‘turned’ out nice anyway. All the best in your future endeavours 🌞

Feature ring 320mm dia, segments 30mm wide 25mm deep with 5mm joints. 3rd ring 300mm dia, segments 75mm wide 25mm deep. Base 230mm dia 25mm deep use solid timber. If you want segments 115mm wide. Your videos appeared recently. I am not a turner , but was a cabinet maker in my younger years. How can you expect to have the not yet vase to not come off the ridiculously mortis , especially after you waxed it for better grip . So many turners seem to be totally ignorant of the forces when you press a tool to one side of the object. A turner in Ontario Canada , uses hot melt glue to stick a hardwood block to the bottom , and makes a large tenon , and of course a steady rest . The time you spent repairing accidents , you could have made a steady rest. I like the end products of your labour very much. They are …different…nice.
