Weather I one thing we see here ,, then this is the Tropical coast of north Australia that’s the Corral Sea out there and yes weather is normal with the monsoon and yes power is at best not that good so we still have the Generator shed and Rain water tanks ..

My son was down in Asheville with FEMA after the Hurricane, he is an EMT, took two weeks off of college to help out, he told us what a mess it was, I’m glad it missed you.

So, back in the late 1980s - early 1990s, I really disliked those Jeep Cherokees because they were everywhere and common as buttered toast! Now, 30 years later, they look alot better! Sturdy, simple, dependable, and … you just don’t see them that much anymore! Same thing with the square S-10 and S-10 Blazers. The new Cherokees look kinda nice but they are too small, have too much technology in them, and are built with the durability of a potato chip! I am getting old; I need simple things that I don’t need to learn AI to use!

I used to have a 98 Cherokee 6 cylinder auto 31x 10.50 3 inch lift front rear hitches it finally rusted out so I sold it for parts also had a 97 TJ it was totaled by a drunk driver.

You’re a man after my own heart 👍🏻 You rarely even see a 1970-71 Torino much less a Falcon or even a Fairlane (so many trim levels for the same body style!) Growing up my parents had a 1970 Torino with the 302 2 barrel. I so wanted that to be the car I drove when I got my license but my parents sold it less than a year before I got my license and purchased a 1975 Buick Le Sabre. I still don’t know why they did that just to get a car only 5 years newer!

I’m actually shocked to see a Nova with such a straight body sitting in a junkyard! I imagine not many people visit there for this little gem to still be there. I wish I knew where these muscle car graveyards were. I would have a ball. I would be scouting for Chevy Novas, Ford Mavericks, and Plymouth Dusters. 👍🏻

I must admit, you take the “can we get it running after forty years” to the extreme 😅 You’re the first one I’ve seen who had to first install a drivetrain before you could get it running again 👍🏻 That’s as cool as it gets!

I always thought that it was so odd for Ford to only have offered this car for a half model year. The Falcon nameplate on the Torino body created a really unique segment, and you could even get the 429 engine and create a stripper muscle car! Ford’s midsize lineup changed dramatically from 1962 through 1979, almost every year being a shuffling of nameplates and selection of offerings to the customer. Ending up with the 1977 LTD II, which was the topping on the cake for oddball marketing moves IMO.

15:35 1974 Spirit of America trio Vega, Nova and Impala Sport Coupe ( not the one with that Huge opera side window treatment!) Those 1974-1976 GM big car coupes were HIDEOUS!). CB Caddy as well Pontiac Olds Buick faired slightly better!
