I honestly prefer him as a villain. Not the "irredeemably evil" type, but as a man who is so stuck on his own past demons that he genuinely doesn't see peaceful coexistence with humans as an option because he is defined by his (sometimes justified) fear of them turning on mutants, and his immediate response is just "attack them first". He believes he fights for the sake of mutants, but he is too much of a scared old man with issues to recognize what's best for them

Ok but here s the thing: i did watch the movies the critics were complaining about - Strange World, Wakanda Forever, Wish etc. And most of their criticisms were valid. I watched Suicide Squad and although critics slated the movie, i actually liked it (yep, shocker). So people can form their own opinions. Also to your point about celebrities being trashed by critics: ok they dont deserve death threats or outright harassment etc. But when celebrities like Rachel Zegler openly trash the film they are meant to be promoting - on Disney s 100th anniversary no less; or when Brie Larson used her awards speech to openly attack a section of the viewing public and critics: then yes they do deserve some harsh criticism which they quite frankly brought on themselves

Yes, humanity is right to fear mutants, however the persecution and hate will only lead to everyone's downfall. Humanity being at the whim of whatever mutant leads to fear. Having someone who could instantly vaporize everything and you are powerless to dissuade or prevent is a dangerous circumstance. Ironically if magneto and Charles truly cooperated to achieve eithers goal, humanity could not stop them. The whole fear thing is a good theme but it's hard to solve, trust helps alleviate fear but it's usually always on the back of your mind and it only takes one bad thing to move it to the forefront again.

Okay. But we have more people in the world than just LGBT and Bigots. We have a lot of straight people who support us but just aren't that interested in a bunch of stories that focus on us. That's fine and I think a bunch of our media could also appeal to that 70% of the world that isn't queer or a bigot by keeping it a little bit softer. That's the kind of media that helps keep people from turning people into bigots in the first palce.

way I see it, it all comes down to who buys the most movie tickets. Representation in movies shouldn't be based on real world statistics of national numbers. It should be based on the money those groups spend at the theatres (especially with how many are closing down now). Us queer folk go see more movies than straight people on average, well that should be represented by us getting more movies targeted at us.

I've commented a few times now while watching this video but honestly there's just too many things you get wrong to break down coherently. Maybe I'll come back and leave a mega-comment but for now I just want to say that you're letting personal bias and the fans' view of the character cloud your judgement of how he's actually written and how the stories with him in are compelling. Sure there's a few moments here and there of 'Bat-God' but you even say that it's the fans that have portrayed him like this. While I don't necessarily disagree that Batman can't take Spidey's villains, I think you're going about it completely wrong.

Batman doesn't kill because he sees all life as inherently good and anyone is capable of change. If he kills someone, he's removing that possibility. He saw with his parents how easy it was for a life to just disappear and so he doesn't want to inflict that on anyone.

You take Lee's quote and say it's irrelevant but you give a Watsonian explanation for a Doylist statement which is incompatible. By saying that the characters are completely different in different media literally proves Lee is correct and that it depends on who is writing the character. For any piece of media but especially comics, there's rarely an objectively correct view of how strong a character is because they're used as pawns for the writer to tell a compelling story. Batman can beat any of Spidey's villains because that would be fun to see

Batman already fought Spider-Man villains. Look at Batman beyond. Inque is venom, spellbinder is mysterio, shriek is shocker etc etc
