Hey Andrew, do you know if you can have both solar and the generator connected to any of the EcoFlow power stations and have it use solar if possible and kick in the generator as a backup? I can see that setup at your cabin. That way everything stays as quiet as possible but your always covered.

what firmware version are you on that makes this work? I'm on 5.0.0.49, i'll have to try this out tomorrow and see if it works!

The low cost high frequency, transformerless inverter design that's used in these battery generator units can not only damage, your appliances or EV, it can set your appliances or EV on fire. The reason for this is that these units don't have an output transformer to provide galvanic isolation between its DC boost stage and its AC output. So during a catastrophic failure of its H-Bridge circuit, it can pass high amperage DC current straight through to you appliances or onboard EV charger, causing damage. This is why no reputable American inverter manufacturer, uses high frequency, transformerless inverter tech.

Hello Andrew great video please when you do the 4000 generator if you can do side by side comparison , also did you say that you had a different smart generator not Eco Flow ?

Well on a table together it works great with a simple setup. In reality the fridge/freezer or what ever is inside somewhere and the generator needs to be outside somewhere. Leaving it unattended with connections that who knows how are configured and most likely going through doors or windows I think isn't a great idea. You are painting a picture not really based on reality. Sure it is a great setup but it's much more complex than what you are leading us to believe. I think a setup attended at all times and monitored closely could work and is much more convenient since it will keep the battery charged in an automatic way is great . I don't seeany other connection setup for this other than several extension cords to the appliances and an extension cord into the house using multiple outlets(power bar) for those appliance cords. That requires an opening to the outside for the generator cord and carefull selection of extension cords depending on load, lenght and environmental conditions. But hey, just connect it, app it and voila....power.... LOL

Wish EcoFlow would update the firmware on the D3+ like the ultra X Fusion.

This is a game changing capability -- thanks for sharing it! Have you personally dealt with Ecoflow support? If not, try it… dealing with China (since they don’t have any US presence) is problematic (lots of email exchanges and language barriers).

Great test, this is exactly how it should work. This allows a small 120v generator run a large central air. While it was outputting 2200 watts running the AC and charging at 1800, the duty cycle is probably 30%. So every hour, you may only need 600-700 watts which the 1800 input would easily cover. Very efficient hybrid system. I would like to see the test one more time though. In the first scenario, you had the output below 1800 watts, plugged in the 120v generator, got it to speed, and then turned on the AC. Your second attempt, where it seems to work, the AC is already running. I wonder if the initial surge current in your first test is what kicked the generator off as the EcoFlow doesn’t react quick enough in removing pass through.

I have had the Ultra from the beginning months ago when it was first available and I was always able to charge with 120 volts (you had to select Fast) and output 240 volts. I would use the 120 volt output available from my Hyundai Ioniq5 to the Ultra and could run my dryer using 240 volt output at 6kw at the same time. I hate to say it but you are many months behind. The Ecoholics documentation explains this.

I received my DPU in August. I was, at that time, able to charge with 120volts, (1800 watts), and out put over 3200 watts with out issue. I was informed by ECOFLOW, that 240 charging would not permit me to out put to a device, 110 or my 240 plug that was connected to my electrical box (safely of course). So a bit confused here. What firmware level is your DPU?

I don't suppose this would work with the 50 Amp hub would it? I have 2 separate DPU stacks connected to the 50amp hub, and an AC cable running to each. It's rough though, because I've had to turn off the hub anytime I want them to take a charge. Tried turning on the Fast charge on my end and am not seeing any input....just wondering if I could chalk that up to the poor internet connectivity they have where they are :/

Thanks for the testing! Nice work. Excellent to see that with this new feature it doesn't try to both run the current load on the power station AND charge at 1800w. Before it would try to do full passthrough charging and charge the battery at the same time which would always trip the generator from being overloaded.

Will this also work when plugged into the Smart Home Panel 2?

These used to come with the same motor in 2 variants 1 DI like here making 65HP and one with Common rail diesel making 130HP. Reliable but tractor like 😅.I’m from India and have driven the common rail variant a lot.

I just got EVO 380 a week ago, for $450, where it is impossible to set 45 angle, or any angle without proper measuring equipment, guard blocks any cuts over 3 inches high so tha guard had to be trashed, i can see this new one will block it too... they could just copy Dewalt, more intelligent designs. 14 inch blade should be able to cut 7 inches, but NO, lets make it impossible. Only good thing about it - makes nice clean cuts, but spraying a lot of blue metal chips all over the place. You welcome from not that happy customer.
