    Had one for about 4 years. Use it to knock down the small growth branches off the trees near the river behind my house so I can see the water. Love it. I also carry it when off-roading to cut back trail brush.

    Hi, Andrew! You have been showing us some very interesting and very useful tools. If only they had existed when I was younger and did all my yard work. Thanks for sharing.

    Sure beats the old Vintage hand sickle scythes with the little wood handle that I used to use! They had way too much curve in the blade. You'll get a lot of use outta that.

    I love mine. We use it to clear brush and limbs every year on the trails to/from our duck blinds in the woods. They just flat out work!

      @TheKelleysReviews That's kind of you, Andrew. I just appreciate you showing it! Perfect for a side by side or zero turn accessory, too! You know there's always that one limb that gets you! Lol!

    In the UK they are called Billhooks, but they are much thicker blades than the Fiskars, look them up there are loads of designs from all over the country, mainly used for hedging where the trunk of the hedge is partially chopped through then it is bent horizontal to encourage the hedge to thicken and produce more stems.

      Yes known as billhooks or hedgehooks in the UK.
      I belong to a voluntary group that uses hand tools only, we use old tools well sharpened, Elwell, Brades and Nash are popular, well made with just enough weight to them.

    Are those dead limbs, the short ones good fire starters? I’m assuming that they would have a good amount of sap on them. 🤔

    • @TheKelleysReviews
      @TheKelleysReviews  10 місяців тому +1

      They don't have much sap and tend rot quickly. I still burn them often.

    I am watching this because I just bought one on clearance for $13. I thought it was a good deal because it was $28 but I was not sure what was the use for it.

    Andrew, did you sharpen this thing before you used it, I just picked one up and it is dull.

    • @TheKelleysReviews
      @TheKelleysReviews  10 місяців тому +1

      No I didn't and it is rather dull from factory, they painted over the edge. I did mention in the video it isn't razor sharp. It still works perfectly.
