That's a really nice accompaniment. I think this fills any gaps someone might have in their backup power system. Great review, Andrew. Thanks for sharing!
Great review that's fantastic you don't have to use that short ecflow cable that came with the first generation smart generator, and it's cool you can just charge from DC.
I am considering this unit for my EF D3+. I have owned several Honda and Yamaha inverter generators over the many years. . One thing I can say without a doubt their exteriors are built to take quite some harsh impacts . Question I have, in your opinion , how ‘durable ‘ do you really think the exterior of this unit is compared to equivalent sized inverter generators on the market . When I look at my EF D3+, a great unit , but hardly designed for rough conditions and was wondering the same for the EF 3k inverter generator.
Technically you can already run a generator to it as is because the unit is not capable of outputting 240v. What will happen is the unit will charge from the generator and the once it's reaches 100 percent, it passes through the generator power to whatever device is plugged into your power station. If the generator runs out of fuel, the power station automatically swaps to battery power. The only other device that could justify the X Fusion is the Delta pro 3 because it has 240v output options.
Hello Andrew great video please when you do the 4000 generator if you can do side by side comparison , also did you say that you had a different smart generator not Eco Flow ?
No, the only smart generators are EcoFlow. As for a side by side, it's not technically possible because the SG3000 uses a AC charging cord and Bluetooth communication for charging. The new bigger SG4000 uses a direct DC charging cable for the Delta pro 3.
New to all this….Will this work with the delta max with extra batteries? I just want to use it to recharge my delta 3 plus and the delta max on cloudy days … can I just plug into it and charge without using the app ?
Hey Andrew, do you know if you can have both solar and the generator connected to any of the EcoFlow power stations and have it use solar if possible and kick in the generator as a backup? I can see that setup at your cabin. That way everything stays as quiet as possible but your always covered.
The larger units I do believe allow you to prioritize the incoming power in some recent updates. These smaller units usually do not, but I'll have to verify that. In theory if your solar/batteries are adequate, you'll never drop below the 30 percent or whatever your trigger is set at. This will keep the generator only kicking on as needed, cloudy days, night time ect.
so this generator runs on gas but also has a battery? or it just can be used to charge devices while running on gas? I'm looking for something reliable for a oxygen concentrator in case of an emergency
Yes it does work with propane. No it currently is not compatible with those. There is a larger SG4000 generator for the Delta pro 3 that I am hoping will one day be compatible with the Ultra.
Per EcoFlow's FAQ on the SG 3000 product page: "Which models are compatible with EcoFlow Smart Generator 3000 (Dual Fuel)? The EcoFlow Smart Generator 3000 (Dual Fuel) does not have an XT150 port. It has two AC output ports and is compatible with all power stations through AC connection." So, it appears that any EcoFlow power station will work with the SG 3000. However, it's the APP ("smart") support that's the question. We know EcoFlow has designed "smart" support for the D3+ with this unit, but we don't know if EcoFlow will provide "smart" app support for their other power stations. I'm hoping they will add support for the Delta Pro, as that's what I use (along with two extra smart batteries) when overlanding/camping or for home backup. I can get the SG 4000 for the Delta Pro, but it's double the price, which doesn't make sense since the SG 3000 has more than enough power output to support the 1800 watt max charge of the Delta Pro.
Well on a table together it works great with a simple setup. In reality the fridge/freezer or what ever is inside somewhere and the generator needs to be outside somewhere. Leaving it unattended with connections that who knows how are configured and most likely going through doors or windows I think isn't a great idea. You are painting a picture not really based on reality. Sure it is a great setup but it's much more complex than what you are leading us to believe. I think a setup attended at all times and monitored closely could work and is much more convenient since it will keep the battery charged in an automatic way is great . I don't seeany other connection setup for this other than several extension cords to the appliances and an extension cord into the house using multiple outlets(power bar) for those appliance cords. That requires an opening to the outside for the generator cord and carefull selection of extension cords depending on load, lenght and environmental conditions. But hey, just connect it, app it and voila....power.... LOL
You're also not taking any consideration into the overall cost of the system compared to a whole house automated system. A few extension cords ran through my home to keep my window AC, freezer, food and or anything else going is absolutely worth it. I've been there and done it many times for decades. That's including no system and losing food, sleeping sweaty for days, no fan, no outside contact.... Nothing! If you can't see someone can do a simple though wall extension cord connection like on a boat or rv your not seeing well. They can simply hire that out, do it themselves if possible and have a generator outside and a plug inside for the power unit. Otherwise run a cord through a window and tape the opening. Your thinking of a high dollar whole house professional installed system expensive system. Many are perfectly fine with that extension cord if it means no lost food, window AC, cpap, oxygen machine ect.
Good morning, Andrew! Your reviews are excellent. You always do the research and give us honest feedback. You help so many people. Thank you, Andrew!
Good morning! Thank you for watching
That is really cool that they communicate with each other and it’s all automatic.
Technology is awesome

Can't wait to test the larger model. Thanks for watching!

Are you able to still have solar hooked up at the same time? Kind of a daytime solar nighttime generator package?
That's supposed to be possible, but I do need to test that to verify. That's the best way to run this setup.
Yes, you can have both charging the power station at the same time or you can prioritize the PV power of you want.

Wish EcoFlow would update the firmware on the D3+ like the ultra X Fusion.

Awsome video. Can you dc to dc charging?
Not on this unit. You don't get DC to DC charging until you step up to the Delta pro and the SG4000 generator.

You sure can, just use it as a standard generator. It's only compatible with the Delta 3 plus if you want to use to the auto smart features.
@ Thank you !!!👍

And typically yes you can charge via solar DC and AC up to whatever the units maximum charging input limit is.
so this generator runs on gas but also has a battery? or it just can be used to charge devices while running on gas? I'm looking for something reliable for a oxygen concentrator in case of an emergency
It does have a battery for electric start and runs on gas or propane.
I wish they had a diesel version I’d buy that
They are heavy to ship and not cost effective for most people. But I'd love have one myself.
A. Does eco mode work with propane?
B. Can this directly tie into the ultra or smart home panel?
Yes it does work with propane. No it currently is not compatible with those. There is a larger SG4000 generator for the Delta pro 3 that I am hoping will one day be compatible with the Ultra.
Will it work with the delta pro ultra
No, there is currently no "smart" generator for the Ultra. I sure hope one comes out soon or the new SG4000 will become compatible one day.

What engine are they using in the generator?
I'm not sure to be honest
