Ride1Up Portola Full Range Test! Pedal Assist Only!
Today I took the Ride1Up Portola with the 10.4ah battery on a full scale range test. Using only pedal assist 2 and 3 I was able to go extremely far on this budget bike. Watch the whole video to see how far we made it! I was extremley impressed with the results!

      @@Mankick Gotcha they’re a good width. Honestly they are a lot wider that most folding e-bike handlebars. They feel comfortable and aren’t to wide that you’re gonna have issues going through narrow spots. I think the go pro makes them look a bit smaller than they are.

      @@MeedersPEVS I actually have one.I bought this bike second to my Velotric Fold 1. I suppose I have become comfortable with the width of the fold 1, so sitting with this bike felt strange with the change in handle bar size. I bought this bike for my wife, and if it is all she knows, perhaps it will work. Only time will tell.

    I just had these installed today, I have to say the bike feels like it struggles a bit to get the power that it used to have. They feel a bit too heavy for me off the bat I can feel the motor working harder and first gear up to 16 mph more more of like a vibration in the bike, it goes away after I leave 1 gear but seems to make the bike work harder

    It’s not fare to call the first and more unique Portola color picked, “charcoal”. It’s originally - a “black onix” gemstone color and indeed I can confirm it’s not really a typical very dull mat black charcoal finish. Instead it is a very unique lustrous elegant Black Onix color like the gemstone, which I already gifted my beautiful daughters in form of bracelet for this my new e-bike occasion. The Chinese manufacturer of Ride1Up brand succeeded to match the intended “Black Onix” color name and got this unique gemstone paint on Portola. And made it even more stand alone among not only other Ride1Up e-bike models, but also unique stand alone view in this today’s e-bike market. I do not know the name of the color-decider but I would like to congratulate him/her with this Portola color achievement. Bravo for this Portola Black Onix gemstone of a bike, even if my Portola was delivered with a single frame color dent spot scratched deeply. But I still love the Portola appearance in Black Onix.

    OMG I AM SO SCARED OF SNAKE

  • @user-mz2kb7rj5q
    @user-mz2kb7rj5q 8 днів тому

    You used 10.4Ah Portola battery. Also it’s interesting to know what is your height and what number you set on your saddle post extended? Since Portola display (vs. known M5 display, for example) doesn’t have an option to follow accurately with the battery discharge (it’s known that the most accurate follow up with battery discharge is following on the display in terms of voltage consumption) during riding vs. following with the provided 5 bars battery charge on KD21C display. It’s tricky for the rider to know exactly how much battery voltage % left. Also since it’s not advisable to deplete the battery to zero, is this a problem testing the Portola range? Even on PAS 3 (more comfortable torque for such a long range achieved of 47 mi (it’s much better range performance of Portola w/ the usually ignored 10.4Ah battery option). Remarkable given the range of the competitors in this price range of $1K and below. Bravo Portola, thank you for this video test that is very encouraging for owners like me who got 10.4Ah. Portola in this range test obviously outperformed most of the competition.

    • @MeedersPEVS
      @MeedersPEVS 8 днів тому

      Yes I have the 10.4ah. I’m about 5’11” and I have my seat post pulled out to the 4 position. I’m not a huge fan of bars instead of voltage for battery readings but it’s the easiest for most people to understand. I haven’t had much of an issue with it. And it’s just not great to leave the battery drained for a long while. I waited about 10 minutes after I got home to let the battery cool and then charged it back up to about 50% it really shouldn’t cause any bit of an issue just not great to do every time you rode. But I am extremely impressed with my range PAS definitely is the more comfortable way to cruise for long range but this is definitely the best bike in this price range. I wish more people knew about this hidden gem ! Thanks for watching the video :)

    The tires say 36psi on the sides. How much should actually be put in?

    • @MeedersPEVS
      @MeedersPEVS 26 днів тому

      25 psi is pretty good for trail riding and offroading if you’re looking for good grip but will definitely reduce the range a bit more. If you’re just gonna be doing street riding and on asphalt 30-32 psi is great to have better range and a more smooth ride!

    You know of a good source when it comes to purchasing used onewheels? Wanted one for a very long time but very hesitant on purchasing brand new since I really have nowhere to go and atleast try one out.

    • @MeedersPEVS

      I just bought mine off Facebook marketplace. I would check on there and see if there’s any onewheel groups in your area and ask if anyone’s selling. I’d just ask them to meet up at a mall or something like that with a big parking lot and they can show you how the board rides or you could try it out for yourself ! 20x4 is the correct size. 3.5 would probably work too but the bike is designed for a 20x4 tire. What tires did you put on ? Sounds like you had your inner tube bunched up or pushed off to the side which may have caused your issue. I’ve never had anyone complain about 20x4 not working

Also if you have belt guards on I would take them off. It traps sticks and rocks and ends up damaging your belts more than it helps
