Family business founded by people of Quaker faith with a public conscience leads to better work and social conditions impacting community pride. Take Faith and quality away from the enterprise and your left with capitalism and greed. Maybe in 10 years people who never tasted Cadbury's products will be impressed by what they make - or not.

I used to love Cadbury's chocolate but I haven't bought a Cadbury's product for several years now and never will again. The last Cadbury's products I bought were assortment boxes for my kids at Christmas. They were a total joke, I couldn't believe how little there was of each product, and they all tasted like sweetened s**t. Fortunately there are alternatives to Cadbury's on the market. This is the way it works with American managers. Buy a company with a well-established brand. Cut costs, destroy the quality of the product and reduce sizes while keeping prices unchanged. For a while people will still buy the product but you have cut costs, so you get your bonus. Gradually people begin to wise up (just read the comments here). Move on and find another management job as the brand begins to collapse forever. Rinse and repeat. It's asset-stripping.

TOBLERONE, will go the same way. Since childhood I was enjoying Toblerone with no sidefect. Today, two of those triangles gives me diarrhea for at least two days. A few weeks later, after things went back to normal, I tried again, followed with the same irritating symptoms. I loved chocolate all my life, but never ever did I have those side effects❗ I'm 🇨🇭 and I know what I'm talking about 😅. And a by the by, I'm sure the size of the large Toblerone used to be 400g which it is not anymore❗

In 1824 Cadbury was probably the worse swill among all the cheapest chocolates in the world. One hundred years later, this thing is still synonym of crap.

The Kraft buy out of Cadbury was quite literally criminal and the minister that allowed this should be in jail. Every single rule set out my the monopoly and mergers was broken and overturned in this takeover. It is not well known that there was corruption behind this deal and there is still no accountability. A criminal investigation is well overdue

Cadbury used to be my favourite chocolate. Not sure what ingredients they changed but the taste is horrible and it has an oily/waxy taste now. Jersey milk is one of the better ones out there now.

Tastes nothing like it used to.. it tastes of grease and fat now.. leaves a weird aftertaste in your mouth.. even a bit of a sapone/detergent taste.. we dont want that stuff..

I remeber Ronald Reagan, when he was president of the USA, describing the former USSR as an 'evil empire'. Well, there's more than one kind of evil. Rapacious Corporate greed undermines the quality of life wherever it sinks its blood sucking fangs. The quality of products take second place to the profit margin resulting in loss of confidence in manufacturing as customers look elsewhere for value for money. This is why so many Japanese companies did so well against their Western competitors. I often wonder what the founding fathers of America would make of this worship of Mammon for its own sake in the country of their making . The shining city on the hill is an illusion, a glorified cheap bauble designed to dazzle and beguile while in fact tricking and enslaving people into aquiescing to their subjugation. Americans worhip money ( as do other peoples ), but the USA dominates because its capitalist system is more entrenched than elsewhere. The fault lines in American society are there for all to see: haves versus havenots; corporate dictatorship versus the exploited consumer. I hope it doesn't collapse because Western civilisation, ironically, depends on its continued existence, but its continued existence without reform, not overthrow, will likely bring about its destruction. Just because they can't do things like make decent chocolate.

Like most of the chocolate producers in the UK, Cadbury's was owned and run by Quakers who had a very strong ethical commitment to their workers. Loot wins over these days. I must nostalgically admit though, that the Cadbury 'taste' hasn't really changed in my view - it's still sweet, brown lard, weighted with vanilla...

Covered chocolate like Wispa, Twirl etc has changed as they now use a small percentage of synthetic cocoa butter as cocoa butter costs a small fortune to produce. As for smaller bars and same price......everyone does the same cos the cost of cocoa beans went through the roof years ago when I was still there. No it's not the same in some respects but get your facts straight before putting out a misleading video 👍🏻
